Ok got myself a samsung non inverter washing machine (samsung wa85f5s3).

But i have a question on how elevated can the drain pipe be as my drain hole is quote far so i made a piping for the drain pipe. However my concern is on weather the outlet is too high or might stress the machine during drainin process

Friend, the drain pipe far is not a concern, as long as the Washing Machine pipe can reach. My also almost to the max length of the pipe that come with!

But your drain hole was too high.

Guess the water from the Washing Machine cannot drain properly.

Top load washing mashine does not have pump, so some of the water may not flow out, as water will flow out until it is same level as the drain pipe. Front load washing machine then no issue, cause there is a drain pump built in..

Damn..i considered sawing off a portion of the plastic pipe but guess it wont work.. Im worried if i cut the whole pipe to be parallel with the floor, the water will also flow out from the wrong end..maybe i have to consider elevating the wshing machine?

Or do i have any other alternatives?

Can refer here

How come you said it won't work?
Just cut/saw the plastic pipe all the way down till the top of L pipe will do... Why water will flow from the wrong end? You mean it might overflow..
If there is no blockage, overflow should not happened.

Btw the link you provided has nothing to do with your scenario, their case is about washing machine not able to HOLD water... yours is washing machine not able to DRAIN

As the pipe is laid flat down on the floor, my worry is the water can flow both ways, to the drain on where it came from.

But maybe if i saw to the joint like u mentioned, physics will say it will flow the other way right? Will definitely give that a try. Thanks!

Electrolux... brand mahal ooo... but generally speaking, washing machine nowadays is quite reliable... at least 5 years shouldn't be a problem...

Hmm, their price is quite closed to other brands like Panasonic, Hitachi, LG...just that I find their design nicer. Err, shouldn't a good washing machine last more than 10 yrs?

Ohh... Maybe my data is off, the last time I check about Washing Machines prices is like 4 years ago biggrin.gif
And Electrolux is like 10 ~ 20% more expensive compare to Japan one... while Korean brand is 5% cheaper than Japan with the same load during then.

5 years is not a problem... but after that, may have some minor problems on rubber seal, plastic pipe, rusty shell... these items are not so lasting and if put outside, greatly decrease their life expectancy... motor wise... I think at least 8 years lo...

Highest record I tested was 13 years on a Panasonic top loader.

I brought the table leg rubber cup from DIY shop. Cut it lower and place at the WM stand. It should stop the WM dancing around when spin.

Any pictures you can share? Also, I plan to raise our future front loader to a comfortable height for my parents as they're growing older. No more bending over. Any tips?

Something like this --> http://www.ebay.com/bhp/chair-leg-covers

To increase the height, get the cement block that normally use for fridge. It come in green color. Maybe can get it from some electrical applicance shop. Or if you buy Samsung WM, they have option accessory for extend up the WM. it is like a platform.

Go for the EWF14012. Price difference is negligible.
What kind of prices are you quoted for the EWF12022?

Do you have a link for that cement block? I know the Samsung extension you're talking about. Shame other brands don't really have one. And even if they do they market it to Western countries and Australia only. :/

Scroll down to the fridge picture. --> http://designboom.com/weblog/section.php?S..._record_tot=82..

It is not difficult to get this block. You can ask those older generation ppl. They know what is this. Nowaday no much ppl using this. Buy still can get it anywhere.

Top load washing machines normally gravity fed pump. No built-in pump.

Front load washing machine and hybrid top load (top load chassis but front load drum with openable inner cage) have built-in pumps.

Reasons for that are mostly historical and prevalence of plumbing code practice in Europe.

So when moving in to new place always inspect washing machine drain outlet if it's in the wall or on the floor.

If embedded the wall (min 40cm height) with no drain nearby means restricted to front load only. If using top load , lift the washing machine to 35cm. The manual of most top load should say that pipe should not be lifted 10cm higher than WM gravity pump. But that means the top loader would be too high.
