Ben (obi wan) kenobi was a old hermit, a recluse figure at tatooine about 40+- years before TFA. So what, lets deduct n see some ideas even if seemed silly.. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « From reddit. After seeing this a 3rd time, i'm convinced that Rey is not the daughter of Luke or Han/Leia. In her conversation with Maz after her forceback, Maz says that the ones she is waiting for are not coming back. She then says, "but there is one who will". Immediately Rey says, "Luke.". The first time I saw this I thought she was asking "Who?". Yet, she clearly says "Luke." when I watched this the 2nd and 3rd time. We know that Rey was waiting for her family to come back for her. So when Maz says that the ones she is waiting for are not coming back, this must mean that her family are not coming back for her. This obviously means that Han/Leia and Luke are not her family. Yet, why would Luke care for her or come back for her if he's not family? Yes she's strong with the force and needs proper training, but I think it's much more than that. Here's my theory, hear me out. Others here are starting to have the same idea. Rey is the granddaughter of one Obi-Wan Kenobi. Full list of reasons here |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Dec 22 2015, 08:54 AM) Honestly I'm perfectly fine with other speculations that some Star Wars fans see otherwise as GameFr3ak rightly offered an alternate view It's what makes the series retain some of the mystique. I'll keep it that way. I won't discount his views outright. This post has been edited by koolspyda: Dec 22 2015, 11:31 AM |

Her mouth looks almost a carbon copy of Mark Hamill. But i admit i really do like the possibility of Kenobi. He's by far my favorite character in the series. Feels a bit more complicated to tell that story tho - i mean you would have to tell the story how he banged someone decades ago and then how his offspring would go on to give birth to Rey.
Actually, they could reveal this in EP8, maybe towards the end. And then expand this revelation in the following year in Kenobi spinoff. This would add incredible hype to the 2nd spinoff. Hmmmmmm. This post has been edited by hfi: Dec 22 2015, 10:08 AM |

Full list of reasons here Also the possibility QUOTE No, obi-wan had a daughter, Luke married her, together they had Rey. Which would make Rey incredibly powerful with the force but the age/gap of Luke & Obi-Wan fathering a child would be a slight issue. This would make Rey daughter of Luke and Granddaughter of Kenobi Didn't realize there were so many hints of Obi-Wan in Rey (fighting style/scaling/climbing the walls/her accent even etc.). And the forceback they used Ewan McGregor's voice. |

in Ep8, Luke will tell Rey
"You are my father" and Rey will scream "NOooOooOo!!" Rey is incarnation of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker's force spirit That's why Rey is more powerful than Kylo |

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Dec 22 2015, 11:46 AM) in Ep8, Luke will tell Rey If so... Luke would say you're a GMO (to be female) clone of his father..."You are my father" and Rey will scream "NOooOooOo!!" Rey is incarnation of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker's force spirit That's why Rey is more powerful than Kylo Reincarnation does not/have not happen in SW... |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Dec 20 2015, 03:19 AM) and Hux also not up to my expectation..expect more from him..he should be the stable one, calculative and cunning..to balance it out..cuz Kylo Ren is too unstable at the moment.. I thought Captain Phasma died?expect bigger development from Hux, Phasma, and Snoke in episode8 and episode9.. |

QUOTE(ilovemod @ Dec 22 2015, 11:25 AM) 1. why no exotic locales? past movies have shown the exotic locations like cloud city of Bespin, swamps of Dagobah, frozen world of Hoth, cities of Coruscant with its 100 billion population, watery depths of Gungan For me overall it's pretty good movie. Although I admit with my current age, nowadays I would prefer movie like inception, interstellar, the dark knight. but all the planets in The Force Awakens seem dull and boring. especially the last scene with Luke which seems to be shot right here on planet earth! 2. recycled story line. kylo ren is whose child? Rey is who's child? gee, i wonder where did the producer n writer get these plot lines from? how un-innovative and un creative. and now we have x-wings blowing up a giant weapon of mass destruction? this is literally the third time this exact same plot had featured after death stars 1 and 2. come on Disney, give us something new n excited. not the same old boring recycled stories. 3. why no aliens? all the main characters are human! except for chewie who is from the past movies and we don't understand him anyway. disappointed. it could have been so much more. i rate it 6/10. But as star wars fans, TFA pretty good on its own despite replying OT success. The finale duel can better though but when thinking those 2 kind of beginner in light saber thus that's why the duel intentionally make it a bit dull. Despite Episode 1 kind of crap, but the finale duel with the background sound really make it pump-up. |
