notice you're using the S1.

are you using heatsinks over the five VRMs? refer here for VRM location.

now i'm not sure if temp #2 is for the VRMs, but i do know that they do get very hot, and need not only heatsinks but some airflow over them.

New sapphire 4850 owner here =)

What would be the best way to keep the card cool and not idle at 81*C? :S

Any recommended 3rd party cooler?
or
Is the fan speed mod enough to keep things cool?

Nope, according to the creator of GPU-z, temp #2 is not related to VRM. All 3 on-die (silicon) is based inside the GPU itself.
Just make sure that the cooler is installed at the correct position.

It's normal for the stock cooler. Change the fan speed to 40-50% to level-off the temp to ~50C.

yes, teh maximum is 8x, edge detect is like making it looks like 24x. Mean u only got 8x to select, but i think u off the one in COH and use the one on ATI CCC. If it wont works, maybe COH are using the different method on dealing with AA same as GRID where u cant set them at CCC.

Personally, I think 4xAA is already enough to fully reduce the aliasing..

Will try again later, anyway ever since i start playing with GC from NV 4400 to 8800 this is my first ATI GC thats why i am a bit blur regarding the setting. I still think i will be getting the setting of the NV from my present HD4870.
