When using 4870 gpu with mobo pcie 1.1,is there a lot different compare using mobo with pcie2.0

Take for example same setting but with pcie2.0 compare to pcie1.1 say bench mark is there a lot different, secondly say fps is it quiet significant.

Hi, my HD4870 idle at 80-81c and full load at 87-88c it seem very hot , moreover i did put a 12cm fan blowing in front and a blower sucking out air n still got that high temp. Any ideal to let the temp go lower.

Hi, just as instructed by our forunner to increase the fan speed from original 27% to 40%, the result is really significant from idel 80-81 down to 55-56c n full load 87-88c down to 74-75c only but noise is still ok not loud but some air blowing noise. thanks guys.In fact better temp than my previous 8800GT when full load around 80-82c fan speed around 55%

I am using 8.7 driver but the riva tuner doesnt work with the driver .

Wonder if anything i left in my driver setting, becos my AA can only set until 8x AA for most of the games compare to my previous Nvidia GC it can set until 16x AA. Any commend for the setting.

Thanks bro, but i did set to edge but still when playing game like coh, the AA setting there is maximun 8x compare to last time when using Nvidia card can set to 16x, is it ATI driver like that.

Will try again later, anyway ever since i start playing with GC from NV 4400 to 8800 this is my first ATI GC thats why i am a bit blur regarding the setting. I still think i will be getting the setting of the NV from my present HD4870.

I oc to 790/1100 full load with original cooler only 78c, idle at 56c, where you got the info, you dont try this card you dont know how to play with it, thats what you heard, u must be NV dealer, trying to sabotage ATI. I use to be Nv card user only until recently when i change to ati i still feel ati n nv got their good n bad.

Myself having the same fan speed setting but oc 790/1100 , temp slightly more than your idle 56c, load 76-77c, been using for 1 week for that setting n stable n fine.

Wonder any of u guys notice when change to new driver 8.7 the fan speed cant be change . Any ideal why.

Hi, wonder did you all have this problem, my gpu-z show different temp on temp1/temp2/temp3. Temp 1 at 54c, temp 2 at 63c, temp 3 at 59c, why like that. my fan setting at 45% oc to 790/1000

My HD 4870 fan speed at 45%, full load temp at 73-74c, but oc to 790/1100 without any hitch at all playing crysis n coh with high setting.

Using 8.8 now n vantage score extra 500, but i am using Sapphire 4870 on vista 64

Bro, how come so big jump from 10k+ to 19k+, am i seeing the wrong figure.

I manage to oc my to 855/1175 stable but some jerk on 3d vantage when running.

It can go higher , its just that the jerk is annoying, maybe i am using vista 64 bit.

Hey guys, just for sharing purpose, i am getting 3d vantage point of 9991, is it ok . My oc gpu 865/1170 anything above that have to add pcie voltage on the bios, my spec on the sign. Just to remember earlier i said when using RT 2.10 my 3d jerk or they call it pause has been solve simply becos i on the sensor for temp,speed n so on.

Hi, i just install cat.8.9 but every game frame become slower n sluggish but benchmark for vantage improve by 200+ points, so decided to go back to cat. 8.8 but when install 8.8 the window cant detect the driver saying no ati driver, what the heck, dont tellme we cant backward the driver, thing i have done, uninstall many times still unsuccessful but when i install back cat. 8.9 it works but gamng still sluggush, any solution guys. TQ

Normally i will unistall the old driver then install the new driver but this time as stated earlier it works fine on benchmark but not on games, this is kind of strange to me or rather first time i come across, anyway i manage to get back to cat. 8.8 by installing cat 8.7 then follow by cat. 8.8 everything works fine on game n on benchmark now, again i am rather curious why cat. 8.9 doesnt seems to be friendly with my gaming but good on benchmark.
