if the old one is windsor F3, yes.but if not, better go with brisbane G2

Decent proc, but max clocks u can expect at stock cooling are around 3.1ghz . Although since yours is already highly clocked at stock, you might be able to push quite higher with good cooling.

you are using asus m3a mobo.
same with me.
with this mobo the highest clock i can go with my 5000+ BE is 3125mhz with 1.40 vcore.
don't dare to push it more higher, scared the chip burn.

guys, i heard that nvidia chipset got a lot of problems now, so i changed my choice from AN78GS to A780G motherboard..

any suggestion or recommendation for A780G? looks like biostar is the most bang for buck brand for now

Yeap... i just assembled a rig with biostar 780G + x2 5000. Bang for my buck.
But no-no to phenom +_+

sorry for off topic question my biostar TA770 A2+ seem cannot boot up after i reset the jumper coz of fail oc the red led on mobo r not active...is my mobo died??

But did you try use other proc/mobo to make sure which part is doing wrong?

Try to unplug all the ram and boot.
See got debug sound or not. If no, then RMA it.

put in reset postion,off the plug and wait..do not turn on ur pc while jumped the cmos!!...
wait lah like 10min.......

then put again to default setting then baru on..

btw..have any1 tried using CM gemin2 cooler with CM blue ice (the pipe version with blue led fan)
