mr ah khoo... did u try lowering HT link and NB both to 1600mhz when trying to oc ur B2?

mine could boot at 2.7ghz at stock volts... not prime stable sad.gif
voltage might not be the issue since no matter how much I add also won't be stable..

planning.. later wait² until next year  tongue.gif
but want to see the price first.. hopefully can see minor price drop..

@cyloh n ah_khoo
what's the max voltage for stable clock?
*
That is very hard to answer u hmm.gif
Take mine as an example.... a B2 9500 ( 2.2ghz default )

210 HTT = ( 2.310ghz ) prime stable stock volts
220 HTT = ( 2.420ghz ) prime stable stock volts
230 HTT = ( 2.530ghz ) prime stable stock volts
240 HTT = ( 2.640ghz ) prime stable only for 1 hour on stock volts ( no matter how much I increase vcore its not stable )
246 HTT = ( 2.706ghz ) stock volts able to boot into windows ( BSOD or freeze after a few minutes using windows )

haha.. mr ah khoo, are we both going to take a dive and grab BE?
i'll freakout if after i buy BE only can oc to 2.7 or 2.8... waste money then LOL

@8tvt
my vdimm now is 2v. might try 2.1v and unganged tonite to see if things get better

That is indeed my plan. But you know la, sometimes feel the rush or impluse to buy.....

I might not even buy SB750, i'll see how reviews look on it first.
Its a hunch, but I think SB750 will not help oc phenom better actually... marketing gimmick.
Change mobo and proc just to get an extra 200mhz??? hmmm....

Hmmm i remember i've read at tgdaily and also at fudzilla that sb750 supposed to bump phenom multi higher abit.. giving us free 200-300mhz?

some news about unlocking the 6 hidden multi pins on a phenom.
I wonder does it apply to B2's...

Haha..tats what i m wondering..the ram speed shud be at 1066Mhz when i plugged into my mobo (Biostar TA770 A2+), the ram run at 800Mhz and the vdimm is at a default of 1.95v.. rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif ..dun this mobo support 1066mhz ram?
*
I think will only support 1066 when u using a phenom with this mobo.
Either that or capable OC to 1066.

For fun, benched 1M on 240HTT stock vcore
Attached Image

Able to boot and see my own CPUID at 246HTT, not even Super PI capable yet...

Loosen memory timings in hopes of stable OC? Any sifu here to help?

now i see u reduce the HTT Link.. told u it could be the mobo limitation.. maybe can try 3ghz lol..
actually what ram u using n what's it capable of.. better show advance setting also..
*
Its more to NB multiplier... so when I lower the multi I must lower HTT link too. HTT link cannot be
higher than NB if I'm not mistaken?

Can only post until 250HTT which nets me 2750mhz.. somemore post not stable.

Erm, will show rams later tonite or next week. Working on the weekends +_+

Btw Phenom B2 increase voltage gives nothing?
*
Nope. Infact if my mobo can undervolt, I would go to 1.1v or 1.15v...

@cyloh=btw, 2.7ghz wif phenom b2 is still considerable..nice clock mate..

@8tvt=saw ur siggy, when will phenom reside in that board? brows.gif dun waste it.. brows.gif

@amdathlon.. come show us ur F3 capabilities..

Any phenom (not 9350e/9150e ar...) he puts on his mobo will fly hehe, come on 8tvt... take the dive and suffer with us tongue.gif

LOL... i'm still putting hope in my B2.
Target now is stable on 2.64ghz on stock volts...
Then 2.7ghz stock volts...
Then 2.8ghz stock volts...

I'm dreaming LOL

Thanks mr ah khoo... actually got another one.
1.15v vcore / 246HTT / Tighter memory timings = SuperPI 1M

....ok now I really sleep. Phenom too confusing to mess with.
enuff got today. Gudnite

Thanks bro. It seems that lowered vcore makes it abit more stable at 2.7ghz rclxub.gif

1.15v is undervolt right ?

all mobo support undervolt or only a certain that supported it ?

@xixo_12
nice job with the new database~!!  thumbup.gif
*
My mobo sets the vcore at 1.25v at default. My bios does not allow undervolting, but
i found a way to set it in the bios anyway LOL

Yeah 1.15v considered undervolt...

Used rebel's haven modded bios ver612. I never had to clear since I've used it.
Not only that, but booting up is faster too thumbup.gif

I'm closing in on why phenom clocks up terrible.
At first I thought it has nothing to do with the SB600 mobo of mine.

Seems like it has everything(well nearly...) to do with the southbridge.
When my phenom clocks up to 240HTT, my 9600GT starts to crap out when running stability tests.
Previously fine when i'm at 220~230HTT. When pushing up HTT, PCI clock gets bumped up too??
Well I have no way to adjust the PCI clock or lock it at the bios...

Hitting 250HTT, internet explorer starts to go turbo mode, audio is out of synch.
Its as if when I bump up the HTT, the southbrigde bumps every other clock up, causing everything
to be unstable. If I were to leave my HTT on 200, suddenly my 9600GT can overclock higher than usual.

When(or if) SB750 or a fixed SB comes out, i think we all phenom owner's (B2, B3) should have no problem
running phenom up to 2.8 ~ 3ghz on stock volts by upping the HTT. Else we'll have to go the black edition way..

Anyone knows more? I may be wrong though.

so far no issue with my mobo hehe... feel sad to let go my mobo if really SB750 that good.
rebelshaven moderator used 9850BE on TA770.. he got up to 3.3ghz
another forumer there using 9950BE... hitting 3.5ghz..

so far no reports of RMA yet from them thumbup.gif

Welcome to the phenom team....

For starters, go into bios, under the page where you can change CPU settings.. just input 220 instead of the default 200 value.

So your phenom will get bumped up to 2.42ghz instead of 2.2ghz.

You should have no prob with that smile.gif
