A: Hello, I am calling from XXXX and to do verification on your credit cards. Which banks you are using now for the credit cards? CitiBank, Alliance?
Me: No, I cancelled them.
A: Then which bank you have now?
Me: Maybank
A: Is the card starts from 5428 or 5400?
Me: 5400
A: After the 5400, the 4 numbers are 6700 or 6800?
Me: 6800
A: What is the expired date of the card?
Me: 09/2009
A: Not correct sir....

(Pandai, she knew I tricked her

Me: Wait, I go to see now:
Me: XX/2010
A: Correct
A: What is the 8 digits number after 5400 6700?
Me: XXXX XXXX (I started to bomb her)
A: Ok
A: Have you signed the card? Make sure you signed it and no body can misuse when they obtained.
Me: Ok
A: Can you read me the 3 numbers on the signature place?
Me: 001
A: Not correct sir...
Me: Correct la... it is 001
A: Can you please read me your IC number.
Me: No, I can't give you. Since you wanted to verify me, you should have it.
A: No, we can't tell you. You must tell us.
Me: Insisted not telling. Why not you tell me my IC number and I answered you correct or incorrect.
A: No, cannot.
Me: No, I can't give like that since I can't verify your identity. Somemore you are not using Maybank official phone number. You are using DiGI.
A: Sir, we use DiGi business plan and this is our call.
A: You can give me your IC?
Me: No.

Hanged up.....

so does it add to the multiplier? if u hv more loans or more cards? or it reduces?

i am thinking of both ways.. the bank would want u to borrow more. so the multiplier is higher.

and thy lower the multplier.. because the CC holder is a risky customer..?

thanks guys,.

Added on September 10, 2008, 5:43 pmmy friend doesnt hv any load and its his first CC.. similar to my case... stil dont understand how thy issue out the CL.
*
hi ruzty,

you know why u got lower CL? bcoz u not getting the Shell citi card lo... perhaps that co-brand card is giving higher CL? and if not wrong, their annual fee is not waiveable after 1st year free waiver....

What kind of service did you all get from Maybank?
I applied mine from them some time ago and I managed to get my card within a week too.
So far their service is attentive and very helpful.
Maybe I'm just a big fan of Maybank.
*Shrugs*
*

Got ppl apply for UOB One Card?
Saw it is free for life. What is T&C?
I want to terminate my Citibank and look for any is free for life (visa card)
*
Yes, there is T&C.

when u apply UOB One Card, u will be given Visa n Master.

both card need to swipe minimum of 6 times per year. total 12 for both card.

else, u will be charged RM388 for your One "platinium" and RM78 for your master.

both card need to stay active to enjoy annual fee waiver.

A true Free For Life is Direct Access n Maybank Petronas card as well.

so, decision is on ur hand.

Nowadays, which credit card have the highest rebates?

In the beginning, Citibank came out with cash rebate. But very cheap rebates. I didn't apply cos i had bad experience with Citi. Citi is sharks.

Then, I know of UOB 1 card. 0.3% rebate, no condition. I applied.

A few months later, CIMB come up with 0.5% rebate. I also applied.

Now... almost all banks also offer rebates on their Credit Cards, and some Debit Cards (like Alliance Bank). Which one is the best? By the way, I 100% full payment of my outstanding every month. So those cards that require a balance carry forward... is no use to me.
*
you have missed out Maybank, if u frequent shopper in Carrefour, u will be likes it. 5% rebate on normal days and 10% rebates on Super Tuesday for MBB credit card n Amex....

I called already, but....the operator told me it's only can transfer the payment to "I PAY PLAN" after u did the transaction. And I'm planning to buy a Camera, i ask them whether buy from the shop it allowed to transfer to "I PAY PLAN" they say cannot tell me, must wait i made the transaction 1st then only they can tell.  o.O
*
U must read careful. the transaction need to be above RM1,000. any amount more than RM1,000 will qualify, and any shop.

you only can call in to request for the I pay plan after ur transaction is being shown in un-bill transactions basically is 3-4 days.

if u still not convienced, why not u call again, ask the same questions again... u will get different answer, trust me. btw, if u got ur satisfy answer, pls ask for the customer service name. wirte it down n for ur reference, in case something happened which is not same as what been told.

what u need to stress is:

amount > RM1,000 will qualify?
any shop / merchant?

My boss introduced me to get UOB cause his point has never expiry (for years he has used it)

UOB One Platinum = Cash rebate (e.g. 4% for Carrefour, 5% for GSC, 10% for SFCC, 0.3% on all purchases, and an amazing list of cash rebate partners http://www1.uob.com.my/webpages/SmartCash/index.htm)

want add 1 thing. the Carrefour you need to spend above or equivalent to RM100 then only u can enjoy the cash rebate. i never / hardly / seldom hit RM100 each time shop at Carrefour, so i have give up UOB One, instead using MBB Petronas card, giving me 5% cash rebate on normal day, and 10% cash rebate on Super Tuesday. haha... this promotion is until end of the year.

Guys,

Does Maybank or Citibank charge on card exchange?

Both of my cards  are faulty, not sure whether its the chip or the black strip. Whenever I swiped at a petrol station, an error popped out saying "Chip is faulty, unable to read" and it went straight offline. Have yet tried on retails though, I don't want to face a card decline.

So, will they charge me? Do I need to go to the branch that I collected the card from? Or, can I simply post to them?

Haih, I am so dead lazy to go to the banks.
*
hmmm, u can try to call their customer service and told them ur problems.

if they insists want to charge you, then u can tell them, u wan to cancel ur card since it's faulty. the procedures wise, no idea, perhaps let some1 who have experience this to tell u.

last time, i try to ask for replacement for my hsbc card, but they insist want to charge me RM50 for replacement. now the card is waiting to be cancel.

if they are going to charge you, simply ask them to cancel the card and you will cease to do business with them.
look at the bright side..so many other banks wants your business and will offer you free card..why should you pay? i consistently spend at least 1k on my card every month, and if they don't want my money i will gladly bring it elsewhere. you should too.

The current Customer Service needs improvement back to the old DA levels.
