QUOTE(Bepeon @ Jun 5 2009, 08:24 AM) Actually Federer was quite close to winning the Calender Slam for 3 years... He won Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open in 3 years but lost to Nadal in French Open.. Emm.. I think career slam is good enough, not like its any easier... Swt. make it 4 times close this time rafa snatch the oz open from federer

QUOTE(Bepeon @ Jun 5 2009, 08:27 PM) Soderling is good, and its scary! Oh yeah... it's scary he plays that way... it's like his mindset has changed. He obviously believes he's the best on clay now

Well, beating Nadal on clay and in French Open does help alot in terms of confidence isn't it?

I guess so. Just like Verdasco after he helped Spain won the Davis Cup.

With this kind of performance and form, I will bet on him to get his first grand slam.

Okay, Soderling starts to break down abit due to fatigue or pressure or whatever. First time showing sign of weakness and Gonzalez is taking advantage of it to come back from 2 sets now.. We are heading to a 5th set now!

soderling and gonzalez now tied at 2-2.. bring the game to 5th set.. this can only be good news for federer, his opponents will be tired..

Thats too early of a statement is it not? How would you know if Fed's match won't go up to 5th set or worst, 4 hours? He isn't the god of tennis you know.

Lolz. Sometimes Head-2-head record is not good in predicting a match outcome... Just look at Soderling vs Nadal match. I think Soderling lost 6-1 6-0 to Nadal in their last match 3 weeks ago but he beat Nadal nicely in Roland Garros..
But whatever it is, good luck to Federer and God bless him. Del Potro is playing great tennis now!
Looks like Gonzalez gonna win this match, he's leading in the 5th set.

Yea, head-to-head records isn't such a viable way for predictions. Sure hope there'll be great tennis after Gonz and Soderling's match. I'm waiting for it.

Congratz to Soderling. He's been fabulous throughout the tournament!
