Great win by Federer.... Seems easy but i don't think he's playing his best tennis yet... but yet its enough to finish off this Monfils.. who looks like doesn't want to play after the first tight set.

Credits to Federer for hanging in there in the 1st set... If he can continue serving like that i think he can win the Roland Garros title.

And he seems happy to win after the match point. Nice emotions there!

Anyway, Serena is out! Got beaten by Kuznetsova... blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

serena williams too cocky..but it was a close match..

Can't say federer played his best today..it was just enough to get to the semis..Has to really pick up his groundstrokes!!

yea, i was thinking about this earlier on. last few years, its like, roger gets into the finals, then loses to rafa, and everyone is like" oh, its ok.(its not sad.gif ) its rafa... roger did well but rafa is king of clay" i mean, everyone expects rafa to win anyway, and 2nd place is all roger has to get. but now with no murray, rafa and novak, if roger dont do well, ppl are gonna say: roger, u r crap. sad.gif  so yea, i too am nervous.

lmao...

The king of clay is no more, he got dethroned. Plain and simple.
Rafa is no more the king of clay.

lost in 2 consecutive clay court tournament, hardly a performance of "king of clay"...but i think he will bounce back.....

and....do you guys think Rafa ever gonna complete the career slam?

Nadal has been working hard to change his game to suit the hard courts and the grass courts...Look at his records since then..Wimbledon and Australian Open in his hands...So i think he'll be able to do so but its gonna take awhile i think

But changing his game to suit other courts has made him a worst clay court player than he has in the past..signs of this were shown in monte carlo final in the second set, Madrid and French open

but he'll still be able to dominate these courts..Mentally this guy is unbelievable

Uhmmm.... it's more like, the players just got better at clay. It's not Rafa all the time okay. Soderling has improved tremendously on clay, Murray has as well but still have a bit of inmature thinking, Roddick also has improved alot on clay.

Federer as well, has improved on clay believe it or not.

Nadal could be preparing for a consecutive win at Wimbledon and his first GS at US Open to complete a career slam.

Don't 'pray pray'...

Only Rod Laver has done that....

Federer? His last chance to do it next year, as he'll be approaching the 30 year-old mark. Called an old-man in tennis. But hey, Andre Agassi was still winning in his early 30s..... whistling.gif

Steffi Graf has won the 'Golden Slam'. She's the only player to have ever done that. That is, the calendar Grand Slam, and the Olympic gold.

Actually Federer was quite close to winning the Calender Slam for 3 years... He won Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open in 3 years but lost to Nadal in French Open.. Emm.. I think career slam is good enough, not like its any easier... Swt.

any ideas what time will the live telecast starts?

Federer has to be very wary of Del Potro today..He's been winning matches comfortably into the semis. I don't think Del Potro will get beaten like the way he did in australia. Should be a tough match for federer, has to be focused!

Emm. Soderling vs Gonzalez starts at 7PM, then followed by Federer vs Del Potro.

Agree that this will be a very tough match for Federer.... But i think Federer would get the advantage as this is the first itme Del Potro actually in a grand slam semifinal.. But not to say that Federer has no pressure as well because he's so close to making history!
