WOW, is all i can say. WOW and definitely, hats off to soderling. Brilliant.
It's now all up to Federer to slowly work out his plan. He already has one hand on the cup, he must not blow it this time. |

QUOTE(Bepeon @ Jun 1 2009, 12:25 AM) Lolz. Try promote those Federer's line then. I agree. Federer is not out of the woods yet, he has to bring in his A game for all the remaining matches. But at least he got nadal out of the way, nadal is like his bad luck.....Anyway, Federer hasn't even won it yet and we still have Murray, Monfils, Del Potro, Tsonga... blah blah blah. Don't play play. |

That's why, never say never until the last point has been played and won. From the start I already expected the French Open to be extremely challenging, doesn't mean Nadal has won all the time means he'll win again.
Murray vs Federer at finals maybe? Way too early to say. Monfils doing extremely well, Tsonga is in top form. Roddick is playing solid matches too. Heck, we may just see Gonzalez pop a suprise as well. Not to forget, today's big winner... Soderling. |

This is ironic because just yesterday i said that Nadal looks unbeatable, and Federer who struggled for 2 matches would have little chance.. Then someone replied saying look at what happened in Madrid.. and now Nadal was beaten, by none other than Soderling, who attacked him like mad.
Those who said that Nadal didn't attack backhand as usual.. emm look at the match, Soderling's backhand was almost on fire as well, hitting down the line back to Nadal's backhand.. i agree that Nadal missed more shots, but his 1st serve percentage was above 90% at one point.. shows that he's not really palying that bad anyway. Today's Schedule - All courts start at 5PM QUOTE Court Philippe Chatrier Aleksandra Wozniak (24), Canada, vs. Serena Williams (2), United States Tommy Haas, Germany, vs. Roger Federer (2), Switzerland Juan Martin del Potro (5), Argentina, vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (9), France Virginie Razzano, France, vs. Samantha Stosur (30), Australia Court Suzanne Lenglen Svetlana Kuznetsova (7), Russia, vs. Agnieszka Radwanska (12), Poland Tommy Robredo (16), Spain, vs. Philipp Kohlschreiber (29), Germany Jelena Jankovic (5), Serbia, vs. Sorana Cirstea, Romania Andy Roddick (6), United States, vs. Gael Monfils (11), France Hope Federer can keep it up and stay till the end of the tournament with his first French Open title.... |

Lots of great matches today:
Tommy Haas, Germany, vs. Roger Federer (2), Switzerland Juan Martin del Potro (5), Argentina, vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (9), France Tommy Robredo (16), Spain, vs. Philipp Kohlschreiber (29), Germany Andy Roddick (6), United States, vs. Gael Monfils (11), France Suprise, suprise. Monfils, Tsonga, Kohl, Robredo, all 4 of them didn't do well throughout the entire clay-court season. Look where are they now. Another suprise by Kohlschreiber maybe? Heck I expect Tsonga to beat Del Potro too. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 1 2009, 12:16 PM) Actually Kohlschreiber beat Roddick before, in Australian Open 2008, in 5 sets... So i won't really find it a surprise if Rod gets beaten here in French Open, especially when clay isn't his best surface, but he has improved alot lately...I think Federer's biggest opponent is still Murray, who seems to be getting better with each match.. and of course Murray has beaten Fed alot of times... except in last year US Open final! |

Nothing much i can say if Fedex dont capitalize on this golden chance to complete his Grand Slam...
Soderling was on a superb form against Nadal... Agree with those who sd Soderling backhand was on fire and brilliant forehand... Keep on attacking Nadal and i would say Soderling forehand during that game was on top of everyone.... |

Nadal just not allow him to break Borg's record. Now it seem Borg's record on Wimbledon and French Open, will stay for years to come. This post has been edited by allenultra: Jun 1 2009, 03:18 PM |

Yeap true.I think Federer's biggest opponent is still Murray, who seems to be getting better with each match.. and of course Murray has beaten Fed alot of times... except in last year US Open final! But the thing with Kohl is that he's like Nalbandian. Only once in a blue moon he'll come up in top form and virtually no one is able to stop him. But in any case, lets see how well Roddick fares against another great clay courter today, Monfils. Looks like he is going all out, diving and sliding here and there. Agreed on Murray getting better each match. He has improved tremendously on clay surface this year. But again, that is of course Murray makes it past to face Fed too. As seen in this open, anything can happen. Heck, it may not be Fed vs Murray in the finals even. Everything is still wide open. |
