i think iphone will be cheaper because it is exclusive product c/w contract for maxis, they also wan to encourge more user right (locked version), just my personal opinion..

my guess.

rm1,999 for iphone + contract 2 years.. unlimited data plan + RM50 call plan = rm148/month

the price for iphone should be between rm1,999 to rm2,599

that will reasonable if the price around 2k + 24 mths contract

An official unlocked unit(16GB) from NZ is about 2.2k if converted

yeah...2k + data plan is expensive lar... i was hoping it will be below 1000.

but now market price is around 2.8k - 2.9k right? will maxis give more than 1k discount if tie up wif maxis plan?

for me, NZ set is the cheapest right now.. Because of their currency rate.

dat 1k will b spent on d data plan..its like bein forced to use em..haha.. btw if u haf any relatives or frens in NZ..u can get em now i guess..got free dock aswell..xmas special:)

may i know wat is the exchange rate now, if not mistaken is around 1 to 1.90 right? then 1129 x 1.9 = around rm2145

Getting 3 sets of 16gb iphone 3g and tumpang my friend coming back next week. All sets are reserved including one white 16gb for myself. Had bought 2 sets 8gb from NZ as well and current exchange rate meant that NZ is the cheapest place where u can get an unlocked iphone 3G. Wish I can help do bulk for you all, who really are interested. I'll checked with my friend whether she can get some more and will let ya all know.
