If you're complaining about the price of the plan, maintaining the 3G/GPRS data flow in Maxis server ain't cheap either, especially incoming data from the iPhone. So Maxis lowering their price plans? Unlikely.

If you have the money and love the iPhone, get it if you think it's the wise choice. But I wouldn't get it if it's true that it is GPRS and not 3G, you don't maximise the full potential of the iPhone 3G.

I rest my case. I told you my source was good. Maxis did announce today.

Personally, I don't think it's a high plan, instead it's an upfront plan. I was told that there is easy payment scheme offered. I don't know about you guys but I have been waiting for the iPhone 3G for a long time. Plus there is no real great phones out there today.

Anyway my source tells me that the bookings in Maxis has gone crazy. Maybe for fans like us we are more skeptical but to the rest of people, they are happy. Anyway this is a good way to take us all to the next level. I like this. And I'm a fan!

all... as you can see from my previous thread...I'm anti-Maxis (eventhough had been using them >10years)...

anyway ... what I want to say is... u better of getting SG set... almost SAME PRICE but minus the contract....

And even you are Okay with the Maxis rate, please note that even with data bundle included in the monthly fee, its still rather expensive (compared to normal Value plan).

It's cool that finally we have iphone officially here in Malaysia...

I am also NOT a Maxis fan, had used before then changed to Digi...If Digi were to have contract with iphone, I will be the first to line up for it! rclxm9.gif

You and I both. Funny how the loudmouth doubters who loled and tongue-wagged their way around this thread seems to have melted away into the shadows, after their pessimistic cynicism prove them wrong.

I'm considering buying an iPhone. Seems like the main difference for me between buying from Maxis/buying an SG unlocked set is whether or not I want to sign up for the "free" 500mb data transfer per month plan, vs sticking to hotlink.

Does "regular" iPhone usage really incur that much data transfer? If yes, then it might make more sense to sign up for the plan, cos hotlink data charges are quite ... retardedly high.

Dear All,

After I gave feedback, Maxis called me. I told them of forummers complaint of their exorbitant prices and rates and they said that it is not official. I guess they are looking at feedback and revising. Everyone should go in and provide negative feedback, who knows Maxis may revise.

After I post here regarding the phone price is not correct,
I receive another confirmation that they detected the error and resend another confirmation SMS and Email.
Erm..I just wonder are they monitoring the thread at LYN here?
peace...

Don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask, but here goes.

Since iPhone is officially launched here, will those with iPhone 3G with firmware 2.2.1 be able to use their SIM cards again?
