There's a difference between original Taiwan brands and fake rims made in Taiwan or China or wherever. Original Taiwan rims like Enkei Tuning or Advanti are still fine coz they are still original, made with acceptable quality standards even though from Taiwan. These kinds of rims are value for money stuff so perfect for those with much more limited budget that cannot afford original Japan rims like Enkei Japan, Rays, SSR etc2. However those fake Rays/SSR/Enkei are a different story, coz they're really unlicensed products, not sure how and where they are made and to what standards, so those are the ones we need to worry about having them cracked or easily damaged. These are usually damn cheap stuff, still cheaper than the original Taiwan brands.

So don't get mixed up here between original Taiwan brands and fake/replica Taiwan/china stuff, those are different quality and also price range. The one we need to avoid are those fakes/replicas. How do you detect? Well you need to know/research what you want to buy first. For example if it's stated there Rays CE28 but not made in Japan and normal weight and priced only around rm1k+ then you know it's a fake. But if it's an Advanti Storm and lightweight then it's original even though made in Taiwan.

Enkei Tuning from Taiwan is actually pretty affordable. But anyway Advanti is also about equally good, especially the Storm series because those are the lightweight ones..

Can also consider lenso. Thailand made but conform to JWL. Lots of designs, and pricing quite friendly also.

Found out not too long ago, Advanti is under Singapore's YHI group. Likely a portion of their rims are made in Malaysia as they have a rim manufacturing plant here.

Now another dilemma is that to go for 16 inch or 17 inch rims..huhuhuhuhu

Originally Advanti is a Taiwan brand, similar with Enkei Tuning, also has flow forming manufacturing technology for their lightweight series.

Whether 16 or 17 depends on what car/what is the original tire size of the car that came as std, then we can calculate what would be the maximum best fit for that. In general, if you use smaller cars then don't go 17.

Using the vios gen 3.. if 16 inch.. I won't be changing alor of things but 16 inch rims are quite limited right

Hmm for that Vios you can still go 17 but need to find a lightweight 17' rims that fits your budget and can tolerate a bit harsher ride, coz with 17' you'd need 215/45/17 tires which is rather low profile with sidewall height only 9.7cm.

Lightweight Japan ones are expensive. Many just buy used ones (me included!), and even that still not cheap/more expensive than new Taiwan brands like Advanti. Best is just stay 16' la for your car, just buy better design, lighter a bit but wider, so looks better and can use wider 205/55 tires for better grip.

16 inch advanti s1 available at rm 13xx..very light weight and original flow form rims.below 6kg.

Think might go along with 16 then.. If I wanna lower my ride.. Then have to pasang adjustables... I think still can find 195/50/r16 right? Or is it rare size?

195/50/16 is too small and size also not that common. Minimum 205/50/16.
