otherwise theres enkei tuning (original taiwan) and advanti which imo are also pretty decent...
*
Can also consider Konig. They are around or cheaper than Advanti, but quality should be at least equivalent. Some of their higher end wheels uses Enkei's technology.

Can get those top end rims for that kind of price? My survey few months ago landed at least 1k above the range you stated, where did you get the price estimates from?

Guys and sifus,

I am thinking of buying this rims : 18" Taiwan Rims (SSR alike), 18x8.0J (VIA 4x100 500kg/5x100 520kg)

May I know if its good? 2nd hand item..
*
Replica and 2nd hand some more, damn risky. Like tyres, don't risk your life on it.

Get proper ones. You can check out Konig which makes good wheels at really reasonable prices using licensed Enkei MAT flow forming technique. Almost 1 year ago i got a quote for Rm2000 for a set of 4 Rennform 18 x 8j wheels.

where you found 2k for the konig rim?
*
Got it from :
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2295162&hl=rim

take note that it was almost a year ago, prices my have varied or the vendor decides to increase the price.

Still a good idea to ask a few more quotes around to find the best offer.

yeah, so many replicas out there, some are eye-catching  hmm.gif

Yes, eye catching, but don't let it catch your life.

You can also consider Konig as they licensed Enkei's MAT process but at a discount for comparable Enkei range rims.

Thanks for the tip.. love enkei design but have to see how deep is my wallet..  if not have to go like advanti
*
Can also consider lenso. Thailand made but conform to JWL. Lots of designs, and pricing quite friendly also.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Nov 26 2017, 10:42 AM)
Enkei Tuning from Taiwan is actually pretty affordable. But anyway Advanti is also about equally good, especially the Storm series because those are the lightweight ones..
*
Found out not too long ago, Advanti is under Singapore's YHI group. Likely a portion of their rims are made in Malaysia as they have a rim manufacturing plant here.

been looking around at kingofrims

seems like my choice is either a 17 inch enkei original rims cost ard 2.4k

or a advanti taiwan rims cost ard 1.4k

any advise between ori jap rims and taiwan rims?

a bit skeptical on the taiwan rims as i did some research, seems like quite easy to get bend or dented. but price diff is ard 1k. is it worth it to top up the additional 1k
*
Proper taiwan rim like advanti is ok (actually, advanti may have some rims produced locally as the brand owner has rim manufacturing plant in malaysia), even the lower range enkei are made in taiwan. For thai rims, look for lenso which undergoes proper engineering.

The problem are those thailand/taiwan made copy designs and replica, the quality of those are questionable.

Dealer shop also recommend 235/55R18. You are correct, ive searched thru V12E2 & FK510 doesnt have the profile mentioned

So far these are the available tyres for 235/55

1- Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 - not sure price
2- Conti MC6 - RM500+
3- Conti UC6 - RM500+
4- Hankook S1 Evo2 - RM400+

Not sure about Michelin, Toyo etc.

For V12E2 the nearest one available is 235/50R18

Which brand would you choose? Thanks!!

Itu abang definitely say s1evo2 sweat.gif

Anyway, s1evo2 factory wheel for tiguan, not too bad.

I think it is manufactured in US.

Yeah the price is very affordable IMO. And so far no imitation Varro rims I can found around.
*
This is even more headscratching, how can US workmanship cost to be that low??

Anyway, who you contacted regarding the varro rims, kinda interested. Did you manage to also find out the weight of VD06 that you yourself is interested in?

varro original rims likely made in taiwan..just like sparco, they are under o.z italy if not mistaken but the rims is made in taiwan so it is affordable.around rm 2500-2600+..same range as varro wheels.
p/s but sparco are not flow forms..the advanti in the range of 2.5k++ are flow form rims.
*
You have any contacts of shops selling this?

Im just guessing hehe, not sure from where it is manufactured. But Varro Wheels is a California based company.

The VD06 available from 17" up to 22"

So far I ask around, can get from

King of Rims - Shah Alam
TMK Motorsport - I think in Sunway

Ok, thanks for the info.

The 18" x 8.5J - 8.9kg

and 19" x 9.5J

Considered light or not ya?
*
18 x 8.5 at 8.9kg quite ok, considering that rs05rr at same size around 8.5kg.

But if 19 x 9.5 also at this weight, something not right....better bring own weighing machine just to double confirm (luggage bag weighing device also can).
