QUOTE(serius seller @ Apr 14 2013, 04:01 AM) so which one u think is the best in term of handling and comfort. 205/50 or 205/45 ? I would not use 205/45 cause it's too thin already so the comfort is almost gone IMHO. More over the total diameter becomes too small compared to your std tire. 205/50 is still ok, but I'd rather go with 205/55 as I mentioned above.

QUOTE(serius seller @ Apr 14 2013, 02:58 PM) Sorry, i miss understand your 1st statement. I thought you said 205/55 cause (causing) thicker sidewall. Yup, I think I'm going to get 205/55. Btw in January 2013 I just bought a new OEM spring and absorber for front and rear. And till now my rear kinda looks weird because its hanging like almost 5 fingers gap. But actually its getting better because after the installation, its like 1 1/4 foot gaps. Now is decreasing to 5 fingers gap. I can accept that with my stock rims, but with a brands sport rim I think it looks kinda of ugly. If I go for sport spring but not to change my stock absorber, I heard this will cause bumpy on uneven roads. Is this true? Depends on how stiff the spring rate of the sport springs. If not that much stiffer, than can still use std absorbers. Like now I'm using Tanabe NF springs but still with stock absorbers, still very comfortable because the NF is only about 15% stiffer and designed to still be compatible with std absorbers.

QUOTE(serius seller @ Apr 15 2013, 02:59 PM) How much the Tanabe NF springs will going to cost? And how many finger gaps left on your car when you use Tanabe NF with std absorber? I'm using Toyota Mark X, and the springs drop about 2-3cm so the gaps left are about 2.5 fingers. I paid about rm1.1k including installation.

QUOTE(edisonedw @ Sep 23 2013, 05:42 PM) Hey guys , wanna change 16" inch ,I only saw vosson so nice , but u guys said only available 19/20" Izit true ? If yes any brand can recommend ? Yes, ori Vossen only sizes 19 up. For 16' depends on your budget. Got nice budget, go for lightweight Japanese rims (SSR Type-C, Enkei RPF01, Rays TE37, etc2.) Want cheaper ones but still good & light, look for Advanti, Enkei Taiwan, Lenso.

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Dec 3 2014, 05:48 PM) Yes 15" Vossen 100% confirm imitation product The brand i listed have mixture of original design and replica They are Thailand made wheel i believe and have good reputation for cheap and cheerful wheel Some even manufactured using MAT technology licensed from Enkei which is good Yes any so called Vossen which is <19' then it is fake. Lenso is from Thailand but Advanti & Enkei Tuning are from Taiwan (or Enkei Taiwan). Advanti is using the Enkei Taiwan manufacturing so it's actually the same as Enkei Taiwan. These brands are very good value for money, already good enough quality and quite light but at much more affordable prices.

QUOTE(Rojak @ May 21 2015, 11:05 PM) Keep your current Steel Rim. What I encountered was Steel Rim is not as easy to dent as Alloy Rim (Sport Rim). Previously I used Steel Rim for 4 years and never dent before. After use Alloy Rim, 1 year plus already dented 3 out of 4 Rim. FYI, I'm not using low profile tyre and yet I'm still dented my alloy rim. Then your normal route must have many bad potholes, and/or you're not careful enough to avoid those. I've used sport rims for more than 20yrs now and never had a single rim dented/cracked despite using relatively low profile tires (10-11 cm sidewall height), and also for the most part going thru roads that had potholes too. QUOTE(chaics85 @ May 24 2015, 05:11 PM) is it ok to buy been repaired sport rim? small crack line but welded back. plz help list the cons of buying it. thanks.. I'd avoid coz why bother buying such rims when there are so many other perfectly fine rims available??

QUOTE(Suri^^ @ Jun 14 2015, 01:39 PM) Hello for all the sifu, lejen here. I would like to ask opinion from everyone here. I just changed my steel rim to a sport rim. the detail will be 15 inch with 8jj on saga flx. What concern me right now is the tyre expend a bit right now (5inch). could i just buy smaller tyre, say 185, 50 to solve the problem? your respond is highly appreciated. Tire stretching is wrong and not recommended. For 8jj wide rims you need to use minimum 215 wide tires and even that already start to stretch just a bit but still within the max limit tolerance. For 185 tires, max just use 6.5jj rims. So in summary you've bought the wrong rim size for your car, so better change it again.

QUOTE(Suri^^ @ Jun 21 2015, 09:00 AM) having 8jj rim on my saga. Actually as long as the rims/tires (provided you use properly matched tire size) are not touching anything else on your car but yet stay within the fender/body line, then still ok, but the question is can they?

QUOTE(Suri^^ @ Jun 27 2015, 09:25 AM) just find the real problem. The tyre for my saga is 55, so sagat... Ok, changed a new one. Alas, correct me if im wrong, the lifespan of tyre, either new or used only 4 years right? Can be a bit more actually but not much longer. You need to start paying careful attention to the sidewall if got signs of cracking, especially since we're driving in hot & humid condition. Coz I've used tires up to about 5yrs before and when I changed it, the sidewall rubber suddenly crumbles into pieces when they're taken off/pressed by the machine. It was quite an eye opener for me because just a few weeks earlier I still took that tires to about 180-200kph!

QUOTE(Suri^^ @ Jun 27 2015, 01:58 PM) Such a lucky guy, you are. Yeah, I was shocked and relieved at the same time back then. The problem was, we never see the inner side wall, always only the outer side that we clean and put tire polisher. All that time the inner side become brittle and developed cracks which all crumbled during uninstalling process.

QUOTE(Eng_Tat @ Jun 28 2015, 10:49 PM) hi all, how much is decent rim cost for 18x7.5J, 5x114 ET45. is rm2-2.2k suffice w/o tires. fitting with 235/50 tires. (alternatively i might consider for 17x7J 5x114 ET33 rims with 215/60 tires) thanks I think possible to get with such budget for new Taiwan or Thailand made rims such as Advanti, Enkei Tuning, or Lenso. Or do you want to get used? If used, might get cheaper Japanese rims.

QUOTE(Eng_Tat @ Jun 29 2015, 07:42 AM) 6uest,is those taiwan and thai rim is durable? i am fitting to an alphard which is family car and the car is quite heavy. usually decent rim would cost how much? if the price is to much diff, then i will just settle for used 18" Alphard NFL rims. As long as original Advanti/Enkei Tuning/Lenso, then it's fine. Don't buy replica/copy rims or those China made rims. You can try contact Nestum, he is selling many of those brands and he's posted his ads in the lowyat automotive garage section here. Mudah.my also has many ads for those brands.
