205/50/16 looks too thick to me so i didnt choose it. guess i will continue to live with the gap..

haha..but honda city looks most nice when use 205/50/16.

For me personally if I have to choose I also prefer less fender gap with a bit thicker tires instead of thinner tires but more gap. In order to look nicer, the fender gaps should be no bigger than the thickness of the tires. Thin tires with bigger fender gaps IMHO looks more ugly but yeah people have different preferences I suppose.

Any suggestion? I am not familiar with the price range for rims, those selling @ RM 1200 for 4pcs, I am doubted for the quality.

my story: last week, i went in a bumpy kampung road, then ter-bang a big hole on the road, then tyre burst on the spot and rim bengkok a bit and get repaired after that. Then tyre shop advice me to get a set of new rims due to safety reason.
During my incident, there is another vios bang the same hole like mine but he got worst than mine, his "sportrims" broken on the spot. This make me worry of using those cheap/imitate/low quality rims.

they do have original rims and immitation.u have to ask for his advice which one is ori but be ready to pay a high price there.haha.
original range choices u have advanti or lenso range from rm 1450 above which both is affordable. for higher range u can look into sparco rims price less than rm 2300(somwhere around that price) or up lagi can look for oz racing rims ultralegera etc/japanese rim like enkei gtc01/rs05rr/gtf01/rpf1 price range somewhere around rm 3xxx-4xxx
those rm 1000-1200 high possiblity is replica rims.

Can get those top end rims for that kind of price? My survey few months ago landed at least 1k above the range you stated, where did you get the price estimates from?

Used price can get but not easy to find, depending on size also. If wider or rare sizes then more expensive.

Not all sports rim are created equal, most out there are crap shitty fake replicas! They are either as heavy as the std rims or lighter but not proven to be as strong. Just like typical std rims of normal cars, Vios std rims is also quite heavy for its small 15' size, if not mistaken about 8kg or more (I once compared a Vios TRD rims against my 17x8.5 forged rims where my rims are 6.5-7kg but the Vios rim despite its much smaller size was heavier!). Good lightweight 15' rims can be as light as 5kg or less. So if you want to change rims, change to original brands but not fakes. If want to save money or cannot afford original Japan rims then buy original Taiwan brands like Advanti or Enkei Tuning or Thailand's Lenso, those are good value for money and pretty light too.

i have used replica taiwan rims before.quality is okay.not that bad.after that change to advanti which is more affordable for ori rim,love the light weight.
thailand replica i have never used it.but read those car club comment,easily dented.only the design/color looks close to ori type.

not so light but still acceptable ...
