i tot hoglets dun have quills when they are born.. only grows out after few days? like other pets oso same? duno.. just my own sense. lol.

kelvin: wakakakaka. can oso!! i become Humprey's Kai-Ma!! Cannot exchange my Echt la~ Echt is a present from my bf, so no-no. I knw u love to see albino, u come penang la~ we bring our hedgehog out. LoL~

meento: hm...duno pet safari sell wat brand tho.. but im using Brisky's Hedgehog Diet, and my Echt love it. I also bought it around that price. So far other ppl's comment about that brand is okay,
but if it's Vitakraft or wadever Vitakrap, dun get it. The ingredients arent sufficient enuf for hedgehog plus it contains filler. bad for hedgie.. XD

Yet 1 thing for using hedgehog special food, it's never enuf nutrition. So kinda have to mix some other food once in a week, like fruits or vege. (much more affordable)
XD still i recommend Royal-C as staple food, best choice. (much more luxurious)

I saw that one too the other day when i went with Bonai n Ninang.. Also not sure if it is save for hedgehogs not. But it is imported ones, so shud be ok. Just have to google the name n see what they used to make it la..

Kiranya Indon la jugak kalo dah tolong aku jaga!! Kwang3x!! My junior in UKM, he has full access to my room n storeroom.. Just trust him as we r so close.. He likes gerbils and was hoping to get a pair from me. Ya i am giving to him as i susahkan him since last year, everytime i wana go out/back penang.

I will do a timetable for him to follow my feeding time based on his study timetable that suits him too. Dowan him to consider me a burden. He just has to add food to all once perday.. Easy only. But Sugar Glider, i will have to bring wherever i go with me. Bonding and taming.

urm. hello. i kinda interested in hedgehog. is it easy to take care of it? female will come period? what will they need? a cage? or just a simple normal box? btw,do they smell smelly? will it harm any kids that want to play with it?

Most important is your purpose in keeping it. If your children are a bit young, then them handling the hedgehog might not be advisable. Insufficient knowledge on how to handle them + a bad attitude hedgehog can cause injuries.

Handling them requires time for them to get use to you (bonding). Hedgehogs are timid and afraid of humans, try touching them and they'll try poking you - unless you spent time with them.

Simple box is enough, but it should be big enough for it, a wheel (for exercise), hiding place and food dish. Hedgehog staying in a small boring box will eventually not live long.

They are nocturnal, if you love something that moves around alot when you're observing it, then maybe hedgehogs might not be the right choice. They sleeep throughout the day, and wake when night falls. If they are wake during the day, there something might be wrong with it.

Easy to care for, varies for different person. But it is recommended that if you want a happy and healthy hedgehog, you should play with it about 30 minutes a day - let it walk around your room or something.

They are not smelly, if you keep their home clean. Besides if their home is big enough, is possible to place a litter tray inside (similar to those of cats - but smaller and depth is lower). They can be litter train.

I never seen hedgehogs with periods. I'm not sure about this. Hope this gives you a brief idea about hedgehogs. There are many types of pets, choose the one that suit your lifestyle best. Good luck yanniieee.

About the toilet training litter trays, I can get that tray for RM4, the red tray in Mizu's picture. It's a good size for hedgies. Cat litter trays are more expensive and a bit too big for hedgies.

Bonai: Thanks bonai for the concern. According to doc Jenny is just ermm.. Twisted in the wrong angle (terseliuh?). The blue black mark is caused by swelling of blood inside the leg. Gave him medication to reduce the inflammation and antibotic.. Sunday or Monday will bring him back to follow up.. Hope he recovers soon. Today he can scratch abit with his leg already, yesterday he tried too, but guess it very pain for him to do so.

Not sure why this can happened. But the only possible reason I can come up with is that I put in a kitten toy for it to play with (is a small plastic golf ball size thing with little holes and a bell inside), maybe when is trying to climb the tank, he got it's leg caught inside there and tumble over..

Kelvin felo of uni and also a part time zoo keeper... haha
