After bugging Eric for weeks for hedgehog advice and info now I finally got my own.
It's a 2 month-old male albino hedgehog who does nothing but eat and sleep rclxub.gif
Will try to snap some pictures.

Don hav cats or dog then shouldnt be flea....

It could be mites.. Check whether any quills lost on her body...

If really last for days, then bring for vet check better.

Added on June 16, 2009, 4:45 pmOhya, incase if u really bring to vet check. Ask someone to acc u.. get a person to hold the carrier while the other one driving..

try not to let ur hedgie vomit... Because it's very hard for the vet to diagnose when the hedgie is having car sick.. biggrin.gif

eric, hedgie can get flea also? i thought only get mites....

runner999
if not mistake, young hedgie do lost their quills when they are young...it's call quilling...just check at the end of the quills,if got like ball shape then its normal but got no ball it may cause by mites...correct me if wrong...

There are only few specific species of fleas will live on hedgie but if you hav any dog or cats at ur house, those flea on dog/cat will also 'accidentally' get on ur hedgehog.

The dog/cat's flea eventually will leave when they 'realize' hedgie is not the correct target, but within the time that they stay on ur hedgehog, it create alot distress and irritation.

Flea infestation usually become worse at warmer temp, and serious case may cause anemia on ur hedgie becoz of blood loss. cry.gif

Yup~ young hedgie quilling when they change new quills. But if quills dropping accompanied with heavy scratching... erm erm... it could be other thing too.

Anyway, i haven ask runner99 who did he get the hedgie from...is it reputable breeder?
