Most hedgies will play with a wheel but just make sure that it is at least 12 inches in diameter

hello! im going to be getting my hedgehog tomorrow at 3.
i plan to get the cage & stuff before that.
im not not sure what kind of cage to get! help!
i was wondering if it would be alright to get those metal cages? and then have a litter thing on the bottom? or should i get one thats closed off at all sides? (toyogo type of thing) and if i do, how would i clean it?

just brought my hedgie home. he's sitting in a box with a towel over it...
nothing i read could have prepared me for the hissing, the spiking of spikes and the constant pooing! but its still adorable, and i just brought it home, so maybe it takes time... cool2.gif

my kakak is freaked out by it. she thought it was interesting at first but then she tried to touch it, it hissed at her so shes scared now... blush.gif

My hedgie doesnt mind me waking him up in the morning when I scoop his poo and pee and add kibbles in his food bowl. But it's kinda hard to play with him in the night. He'll sleep after walking around. dry.gif So I guess it's better to set your timing right when he's still young. But obviously its better to play with him at night rather than morning during his sleeping hours. Not all hedgies dont mind waking up in the morning. tongue.gif

Young hedgies tend to poo more than adult hedgies. So, just bear with it k? (:

My hedgie doesnt seem to favour live mealworms. So I suggest you to try to get a few first to let your hedgie try it out before buying them in bulk and letting em molt into beetles if your hedgie doesnt like it. sleep.gif

Haha! My mom actually touched his quills from behind and both of them freaked out, badly. I know, my fault for not warning my mom. doh.gif If you wanna touch it, try letting it smell your fingers, then gently stroke his forehead and the sides. Make sure he can see whr your hand is. I did that and 2 days after that I could hold him in my palm. (:

Wait till you bathe him or balls up, hedgies are the most adorable thing in the world. wub.gif

well, my friend rented a house that the owner had moved out of recently, and he said he found a hedgehog in the cage there. so, we call the owner and she says she dont want it anymore, that we can give it away or do whatever we want with it. so i decided to keep it, and i callled her to find out how old it was...

it was free tongue.gif
