hi all sifu. i've been using nvidia cards all these while from 6600gt->7900gs. recently seem that ATi beat the crap out of NVidia. glad to hear that .

it's tempting me to buy 4850.. it's actually equivalent to nvidia 9800gtx right? wanna know if there's any performance/graphics quality/compatibility issue when using ATI card when playing game especially with games with the 'NVidia' logo?

I tried setting the stock cooler fan to 60%. crap dat thing is as noisy as a 500watts hairdryer. Couldn't stand it, ask my couz to courier me the TT DuOrb from Singapore. With the TT, my pc is in total silence and the temperature is even lower than 'fan setting 60% of the stock cooler'.

I'm using the entry lvl fans from CoolerMaster. Planning to get the 50CFM Silent fans very soon.

actually it is way better than GTX by big margin why dont you save more and get 4870 instead this baby smokes GTX260 by big margin as well

until now, ATI card IQ better than nVidia card (not all people can notice this)

so far i see none compatibility issue running ATI card at nVidia TWIMTBP game around internet

ATi has always been the one with a more superb IQ, likes what pikacu stated. You can check the websites (google lah) and see for yourselves if you want. Xbitlabs is a good one.

Hopefully you guys words are not biased/fanboyish . I'm no fanboy of ATi or NVidia nor i am fanboy of Intel/AMD.

As long as a product is best bang for buck performance ratio and don't have much huge drawbacks, i'm all for it . And thank you all so much for the insights. Btw, can HD4850 play crysis on at least high settings at 1680x1050?

Well, I guess you can. I don't get what they mean by max details though. My theory would be High settings, you can't get that fps with very high.

Here's another, clearly stated at highest settings.



You should be hoping that's the minimum fps. A minor setback of .2 fps wouldn't cost you much.

Thanks for the benchie blindbox. Hmm.. at 1680x1080 without AA or AF, FPS about 37.1. Hardly smooth or playable i would say. Well guess no cards mid end cards can tame down Crysis still

I don't know, I can play games at 30 fps no problem.
