Just got my Radeon 4870. Playing Crysis with High settings + Smooth Vision HD 4x AA ( edge detect 12 samples), 16x anistropic filtering at average 36 FPS on 1440x900.

So far so good for Assassin Creed, COD4, n World in Conflict.

3DMark06, not much improvement from my 8800GT. But 3DMark Vantage improve drastically.

Planning to switch Heatsink to Thermaltake DuOrb. The stock cooler is very hot idle 58c, load 68c. If i set the fan up to 50%, too noisy =.=|||, running at 40% fan at the moment.

I hope so too. hehe, using the Catalyst 8.7 beta now. The 8.6 Official drivers is slow.

>--> IvanChin, how did u export the Crysis TimeDemo Benchmark out to command prompt? I manage to save it to .doc file only.

question towards ati 4XXX users...
1) what casing u use?
2) are u using 3rd party cooler? If got pls tell brand
3) are u happy with what are using?( related with the two questions)
4) u use brand? 4850 or 4870..
*
1) CoolerMaster Cosmos S (AirFlow: Bottom = 1 Intake, Back = 1 Output, Top = 3 Fans output)
2) Thermaltake DuOrb VGA Cooler (idle 49c, load 65~68c)
3) Yes
4) Sapphire 4870 512mb

I tried setting the stock cooler fan to 60%. crap dat thing is as noisy as a 500watts hairdryer. Couldn't stand it, ask my couz to courier me the TT DuOrb from Singapore. With the TT, my pc is in total silence and the temperature is even lower than 'fan setting 60% of the stock cooler'.

I'm using the entry lvl fans from CoolerMaster. Planning to get the 50CFM Silent fans very soon.
