but hor.. the price for ATI depends on distributor one ler.. if malaysia distri stil keep alot stock. they won't apply price cut for 4800 series. unless their stock is clear.

even 9800gtx oleidi drop price in US, but malaysia always never follow up one. Same like 3870 last time also. Malaysia price controlled by distributor, but like in US, if announce price cut, everyone must follow up, u no follow up, u no sales.

As one of the disty for both NVidia and ATI, I would like to stress that things are NOT as simple as you all may think. There are too many variables: time of order, production delay, length time of stock arrival, exchange rates, logistics charges, financing costs etc.

In short, we can say there would NOT be any reduction of prices for 4850 and 4870 anytime within this month. In the first place, HD4850 should not be priced around RM650+ at all.

This is just to clarify for those who are planning to buy or budgeting for HD4850 or HD4870. As for 3850 and 3870, YES, these models have new costings, so it's a matter of who bring in the new stocks at new costs. drool.gif

Hope that helps. Thanks peeps. icon_rolleyes.gif

why not? we all love low price.

IMO, there's no reason not to follow the new price. in Newegg, even though the price has decrease by following the price from ATI, Newegg doesn't suffer any loss because ATI will give discount on the next shipment of products.

Our distributor follow other kind of pricing i think. I dont see any price cut at newegg yet, and 130euro is still around RM650.

some would say waiting game is pointless in PC world.
but look at what's nvidia just done.
GTX280 dropped from USD659 to USD499 while GTX260 from USD399 to USD299. doh.gif

sometimes the waiting game is worth to try, it depends on the situation imo.
