You'll need a LCD with component input, so look for one that has it.

hmm.. now is revision A00. I think if not in the hurry to buy, can wait for revision A01 which will fix certain issues found as mentioned by other user in US.s

I need suggestion for 19" wide screen LCD. My requirement
- good performance
- lowest rated power consumption
- good price, cheaper better
- good reliability
- good warranty/after sales support

I'll be doing graphics editing and design. No other major task besides some office work and surfing. That's all.

Suggest me a model and its estimated street price.

Some brands in my consideration are BenQ, Acer, Dell, Samsung, but no specific models in mind.

update: any opinion on Dell E207WFP?

Most LCDs nowadays are low power and pretty equal power consumption, even among different sizes. nod.gif

If you are really a professional graphics designer, TN panel would be totally unacceptable for you. Try to scout for a S-IPS/AS-IPS/H-IPS panel. If you are on a budget, try looking for a 2nd hand DELL 2007WFP. But don't get the S-PVA version.

Benq looks ugly,Fujitsu a bit expensive

and Chimei? that sounds like some cheap chinese product that is gonna break after using it for days laugh.gif

Viewsonic VX2235 is quite common, but i read the reviews on the net,and most gave it mediocre score.

can't find any reviews for Viewsonic VA2226,but from the specs, it looks like an inferior version of VX2235,any opinions on it?

I bought Benq G2400W today coz I sorta out of budget to buy better lcd, well for a TN panel it was not bad and nothing I can ask for. Anyway it does 1:1 mapping when connected with PS3 which make it a plus. : D

both link below pretty let me decide which to buy...when I was pondering btw Samsung 2493HM and this. Somemore the Samsung is only Sgd599 coz having promotion and the Benq is Sgd 100 more expensive. I saw both demo unit, I gotta say the Samsung does look better but it doesnt do 1:1 mapping so hehe end up with Benq.

I'm not a professional graphics designer. I'm just a freelance photographer, but I do some little designs too.

At the moment, I'm looking for a not-so-hardcore LCD monitor as I'm just starting my business. Those LCD monitors we normally use for home is acceptable for me, as long as it has reasonable good colour accuracy (I can always calibrate though). High refresh rate is not very important.... I think around 5ms is already enough.

Do you think E207WFP is good enough for my needs. Spec is more or less similar to 2007WFP (or did I miss anything?). I'm looking at a budget of RM800 max for 19" or 20" monitor.

If I get a Dell, I would've just order it online. There are limited choices (plus overpricing) for computer stuffs in my hometown.

And I'm not a rich daddy's kid. So... uber expensive LCD is out of my budget.

For the record, I agree with kianwee... If you are into photography and doing photo editing, then S-IPS type panels are the best as they give the best colors (and viewing angle). rolleyes.gif

Hmmm... those normal LCD monitors are not easy (rather hard) to calibrate, really! TN panels have tendency to shift color and change brightness when viewing at any angles other than direct... even a slight head movement you will notice slight color shifts. tongue.gif

20" ones are rather hard to come by... While most 19" ones nowadays are "16.2 milllion color" type panels (cost cutting by manufacturers). Budget around RM800 can get 22" already, and most 22" are "16.7 million colors" panel, plus the bigger the screen the better viewing angle for TN panels. Make sure it has DVI.. icon_rolleyes.gif

More info on 16.2 and 16.7 million colors here: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php (scroll down to Background on Dithering) wink.gif
