Any Samsung 226BW user here? I need help on how to turn off the On Screen Display. icon_question.gif It shows "Not Optimum Mode" since I'm using 1920x1080 when I'm playing my PS3.

use 720p mode.. does the msg go away after like 10 seconds or it just stay like that?

I'm looking for a 24" LCD monitor as my Viewsonic 19" suddenly craps out yesterday night after 5 years of long service.

Any recommendation? I was looking at dell, there's one model tempted me but is costly. RM2.6K for a LCD 24" Dell UltraSharp™ 2408WFP

And i have a X800 PRO. Should be able to support it right?
*
If you have enuff budget the Dell 2408wfp is highly recommended as it used S-PVA panel if i'm not wrong. Just don't buy those non-ultrasharp Dell. You can try to check Eizo HD2441W or NEC LCD2470WNX which used high quality panel as well.

If you're looking for a cheaper solution go for those model that used TN panel.

I'm also like you now hunting for a lcd panel but was waiting to see how Dell 2709wfp perform on ps3 if not i will end up with Dell 2408wfp as well. Seem like not much choice to choose when limited by budget. : D Earlier today I was looking at Samsung 2493HM, it is currently in my consideration list and it is cheaper than Dell 2408wfp.\\

you gfx can support but if you want to play some high end games then need to upgrade.

i would prefer higher end model and what attracts me the most is the connectivity.. WIth HDMI, Component input, it can be useful in the future for PS3 without the use of a converter. Nah.. i would stay clear from cheaper stuff (cheap thing no good, good thing no cheap). Still a lil bit lack of review for this LCD and i came across a forum that mentioned it LAGS when playing COD4 at full resolution (offline / 1920x1200) and there's another one mentioned that the input lags especially playing online fps games (this bother me the most as mostly i watch action movies and playing fps games and PS3 in the upcoming months)

I was thinkng if the price surge above 3K.. why not get a 32" LCD TV FULL HD right? I still had yet to check out those LCD connectivity but is it wise to get it?
*
Get the Dell 2408WFP lor.. it get a pretty decent feedbacks from people who use it for PS3. It has displayport somemore, another advantage. LCD TV is not really suitable for PC due to the big screen and lower resolution and lcd tv you need to sit pretty far to get everything look comfortable.

check this - http://monitortest.blogspot.com/

off topic : LCD TV is mainly to watch EURO 2008.. GERMANY! I hope Germany win ; ;

I bought Benq G2400W today coz I sorta out of budget to buy better lcd, well for a TN panel it was not bad and nothing I can ask for. Anyway it does 1:1 mapping when connected with PS3 which make it a plus. : D

both link below pretty let me decide which to buy...when I was pondering btw Samsung 2493HM and this. Somemore the Samsung is only Sgd599 coz having promotion and the Benq is Sgd 100 more expensive. I saw both demo unit, I gotta say the Samsung does look better but it doesnt do 1:1 mapping so hehe end up with Benq.

Does anyone know the price of the G2400W right now and where I can find one? I'm trying to decide between that and the V2400W for my next 24". The V2400W is available now for RM1499.
*
I bought mine for Sgd699 around Rm1600 after convert... if the V2400W at Rm1499 by all means go for it : D

this monitor rocks if you're using with ps3 coz so few monitor out there would do 1:1 scaling for a monitor at this price...

my advise is go read some of the feedbacks from the people who own the V2400W before you buy. do compare with other monitor with your eyes see what fit you best.

if you gonna pair with ps3 .. the scaling issues at 1080p is what you really need to check otherwise your game will look like shit ww..

haiyoh if you wanna throw away your 226bw so fast, at least la upgrade to 30 inches or something or buy dual 24 inches laugh.gif its a waste of money just 4 upgrading 2 extra inches only doh.gif

22" cannot do full hd while 24" can.. that's very big different if you watch some blu-ray : D

to truly enjoy blu-ray you need screen that can do 1920x1080 : D

If you have the budget for the Dell Ultrasharp 24" 2408WFP by all mean go for it. It used S-PVA panel that's why it is abit more expensive.

As for Benq G2400W it used some high end TN panel.. when I see it together with PS3 in action. I never regretted it, just have to do some setting with the colour. The 1:1 mapping just made it almost perfect. : D

Higher la. I urge ppl who going to buy 22" just direct go for 24" at least. Even a 720p content look amazing nice not to say 1080p content. Dont look back, just go for it. I would highly reckon Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP if it's within ur budget. Tho i ended up with Benq G2400W, this monitor are near perfect to pair with PS3 mainly due to the aspect scaling.

I bought in Sg.. this monitor is kinda rare, not many shop taking it. I bought at SGD699 so around RM1650.

Check this thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1237718 , it pretty convinced me to take this monitor. I'm so glad I didn't pick the Samsung one.

No regret after buying! : D

i'm not pro.. but I can help you abit..

yes it will compatible.. if your vga don't support the native resolution of the 22" which is 1680x1050..

the monitor will still help you scale upon the resolution you set in the windows.. hope that is clear for you.. : D

if you die die want a true full hd lcd monitor there is only one atm..

Benq E2200HDA and it is not even out for sell yet... yes we're talking about 16:9

Read: http://www.benq.com.my/press/News.cfm?id=2244&cat=0

other than that.. any 24" onwards lcd monitor at the market atm are full hd as well coz they are 16:10 at 1920x1200... as long they can map 1:1 .. you just will get two little horizontal bar on the top and bottom... not a fuss anyway.

so chooose your lcd wisely if you want full hd.. as some lcd do not scale 1:1 or aspect scaling : D

heck my notebook also got a sticker of FULL HD 1080P from Sony www.. I find that sticker funny.

Edit: I kinda wanna know what is the true full hd lcd you mention that is selling like hotcakes in china?
