You are on the right path for selecting Kernel 2.6 (experimental) for MIPSR2

However which type you need to install depends on yourself since the RT-N16 is able to install all of them. Read up on the different type of builds they have here http://tomatousb.org/doc:build-types

Personally, I would flash the Extras (Ext) edition or the VPN edition if I need the VPN function.

Anyone care to enlighten me a bit?

I set my highest to 85% and set my own IP to highest priority with warcraft 3 from 6110 - 6119 port as highest as well.

While all the other runs on lower class (Default) 15%.

It's odd that it lags me a lot when i am playing warcraft 3 and also streaming youtube.

Any help?

All right, here comes something dumb... I'm new to this so forgive me.

WHR-HP-G54... As far as I understand, the best firmware to get is the Victek, but do I get ND or regular? I was going to check myself, but it seems my router doesn't want to accept telnet connections =\.

btw- anyone think I should get Tomato RAF instead?

Thanks, and again, sorry for the dumb questions.

I just got a Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N to use with my Unifi setup, and I was wondering if I could use this firmware in lieu of the default or DD-WRT versions. I did use a WHR-G125 before with Tomato, which a friend configured, but I don't know if it can be applied to my current model too.

For years I was using OpenWRT, and had no problems getting Cisco VPN client to work (on my PC, behind NAT of course).

I switched to Tomato/Victek, and now I can no longer get it to work. The client connects, but the tunnel doesn't pass data.

Does anyone else use this? Any idea what to change?

Note that I am NOT talking about running VPN in the router itself, but rather on my PC. So I don't think installing the VPN mods for Tomato is the answer (at least from what I've read).

if you are playing dota via flying spaghetti monster, remember to set the flying spaghetti monster port as high priority as well. normally UDP 1513.

I concur, the old version is much more stable. doh.gif

The new version in relation to the old is absolute rubbish. I cannot believe after all this time Victek released such garbage upon the world. vmad.gif

If anyone is wondering what I'm talking about. Randomly my Routers CPU maxes out, when it gradually comes back the CPU load is at 500%+. Most of the time, it does not come back.

This is happening on both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels using these three different builds:
Tomato RAF 1.28.8515 ND. Standard version for WRT54GL and non USB routers.
Tomato RAF 1.28.8615 ND. Standard version for WRT54GL and non USB routers.
Tomato RAF 1.28.8625 ND + VPN. VPN version for WRT54GL and non USB routers. (NO CIFS)

But anyways, back to Tomato RAF 1.25.8515.2 for now, which is notworthy.gif worthy.

Well, longtime ago since my last visit to this amaizing forum to deserve a post for my mods, I hope everything is OK and apreciate your comments.

You have now 14 diferent version of Tomato RAF adapted to your particular model.

Thank you very much!

Tomato RAF 1.28.121006. K2.4.20
Tomato RAF 1.28.8515 ND K2.4.37
Tomato RAF 1.28.8617. K2.6.22

im using a wrt54gl, so what's the difference between the above three firmwares? they all bear the description of "standard version for wrt54gl", which should i use?

If your Internet account gives you more than 50Mb speed, then use 1.28.121006
If you have problems with WDS mode then use 1.28.8515 ND
If you're a stronger P2P user then use 1.28.8617

Are the new builds still as unstable as their predecessors? I'm still on 1.25.8515.2

EDIT: Just tired Tomato_RAF-K26-1.28.8617_MIPSR1_Std on my WRT54GL, absolutely absurd CPU usage (3x higher). - This is absolutely TERRIBLE for P2P.
EDIT2: Tomato RAF 1.28.121006 appears to be stable, runs GREAT for P2P. I'll update this post or make a new post if I encounter more issues. I'm pretty sure the Teddybear integration is breaking things, it's a terrible mod and is extremely unstable.
