QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Jul 1 2008, 10:56 AM) So the AMD acuire ATi is good choice? But their processor is going worse... thats the problem if one company focus on processor and gc at the same time AMD should just battle with intel only 4 the processor department and leave ati/nvidia battle themself 4 the gc department...better what that ways ma This post has been edited by skylinegtr34rule4life: Jul 3 2008, 11:58 AM

Shiock to heard that The 3870X2 price never lower than single 3870. Furthermore 4870X2 perform much better than GTX280 and even some partners might come out with special 4870X2. Expect double the price of current 4870.

This is Spartaaaaaaaaaaaaaa anyone? R700 Spartan has 2GB of memory : http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=c...=8279&Itemid=34QUOTE Comes in late August
We just got a final confirmation that R700 uses two RV770XT GPUs and that it supports massive 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
ATI used the codename Spartan for R700, as someone got hot for the movie.

QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Jul 3 2008, 11:56 AM) I think AMD is more focusing on gc bcoz gc business is more untung than processor , ppl change gc more than proc, right?

I think proc AMD only concentrate on business. From what i HEAR Opterons are better than Xeon Eh?? But if AMD dont buy ATi too,we might dont have such price like now.HD4850 RM 700..If AMD no have maybe price like 9800GTX edy

4870x2 got DDR3 version. Cheaper. For those got budget constraint, can go for DDR3 version. Reference: http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=c...d=8284&Itemid=1

Woah..4870 X2 requires 1 6 pin and 1 8 pin So i think can. Becos most 1000W PSU comes with 4~6 PCI-E Connectors.

Im also curious about PSU needed to power up 2 x 4870X2. I've already reads one of the article tat stated 1000w psu should be enough to power tat setup. But it not stated clearly either tat review is 4 normal use or overclocker use.

where are my stars???
|
does the 2 gpu on this 4870x2 shares the same common memory pool or both have independent memory for rendering?
eg. meaning 512MB for each GPU does not mean it has total 1GB effective memory, coz contents is duplicated for both gpu memory sets.
or... 1GB memory shared by 2 GPU?
or.. its just a myth.. can could onli come out in R800?? LOL

Hmm i think its each GPU.Becos its is 2 Die in one PCB. In processor name, native Dual Core?? I think it has independent for memory rendering.

i guess it's still limited to 512mb, but there is a 2gb version rite, so it a good hint there for workstation graphic card to be based on this card too...
