QUOTE(xen0 @ Jun 19 2008, 08:58 PM) R700 = 2 X RV770 rite..? me also confuse... Rv770 is core name for HD4800 series,so, R*** is 2 GPUs.. and RV*** is 1 GPU... like that huh? RV770PRO is codename/core name for HD4850, RV770XT is codename/core name for HD4870, R700 is codename(not sure about core name) for HD4870x2 |

QUOTE ![]() ![]() R700 use 6pin+8pin connector, just like 3870x2 does PLX chip seems smaller than 3870x2 PLX chip (die shrunk? or just middle man for communication between GDDR5 and Rv770 core? who knows..) R700 Black Edition anyone? |

This is Spartaaaaaaaaaaaaaa anyone?
R700 Spartan has 2GB of memory : http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=c...=8279&Itemid=34 QUOTE Comes in late August We just got a final confirmation that R700 uses two RV770XT GPUs and that it supports massive 2GB of GDDR5 memory. ATI used the codename Spartan for R700, as someone got hot for the movie. This post has been edited by pikacu: Jul 4 2008, 02:22 AM |

R700 avg 50%, up to 80 % Faster than GeForce GTX 280 : http://www.techpowerup.com/65382/R700_up_t...ce_GTX_280.html
QUOTE Pre-release performance evaluations suggest that the Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB GDDR5 model will on an average be 50% faster than the GeForce GTX 280 and in some tests 80% faster. A second model, the HD 4850 X2 (2GB GDDR3 memory, 2x RV770Pro) will also convincingly outperform the GeForce GTX 280. The R700 series will be brought into the market late-July thru August. might be rumor tho |
