frm wht i read (amd forum)..lots of problem are from sapphire product rather than other brands..
so much people complaining their card...some just shift to nvidia bcoz of unsolved prob..what u guys think abt this?..
overheating prob is not a big think bcoz nvidia also facing the same prob

Overheating is common for those who are aware what kind of gc are they using now. High performance graphic card always draws more power and produce more heat. It's a undeniable fact.

first you need to know how many thousand pieces of card they already sold, and what you see only few of them. so don't worry.

yap all same mama, nothing difference at all, sorry forget to tell the sticker are difference between each brand.

ppl always said 4870x2 high temp.... m... full load only 69c or a bit more (edit the profile let the fan run at 45% speed solved your problem) and also don't forget 4870x2 inside the card have 2x GPU, so it still can maintain that temp level, so what can i say that nice man.

how much asus 4870x2 now ar ?

i used sapphire 3870x2
now sapphire 4870x2 no problem also

Sapphire 4870x2 user reporting in...

I have one question regarding of the fan speed, I already edit the xml profile to 50%, but in GPUZ it show 40% all the time, is it trustable?

If not, how may I know that the fan is running at 50%?

m.. i put the fan 2000rpm but in GPU-z showed 28xxrpm (45%) in XML profile. 2800rpm is fine for me, the temp is 54c

2000rpm will sound loud...

mine is 28xx rpm i feel ok, for me most important is cool it down, that is purpose.

i have a question
the 4870x2 should be 2G
but i look over the everest and display setting there
system video memory only show 1G
using vista 64 bit
any sapphire 4870x2 user can let me know that it is normal or..?
and everytime i open pc then will hang on the loading screen
need to restart only can load normally
i cann't go to the bios setup page also everytime i press del
try to go to the bios page then will hang too

use GPU-z 2 check also, more accurate den everest.

using 4870x2, u won't fell much different unless use high resolution display.
in fact, in lower resolution, it sum time perform worst den 4850.

4G RAM
gigabyte superb 720w

1, use GPU-Z, per GPU is 1GB then total is 1gb x2 = 2GB so that is normal.

2, for the BIOS kindly check whether you BIOS have compatible issue with 4870x2, since you are using Gigabyte please check with they website. my Abit IX38 QuadGT have this issue, so i have to flash back to older version BIOS.

3, for 4870x2 you found that when power on the fan will run full speed then back to normal (normal and healthy) and also you will notice when playing 3D games the fan will suddenly run at higher speed is because built-in auto temp control, if the temp reach that level then the fan will run at that speed to reduce the temp .... so you will hear the fan suddenly noisy and suddenly silent. (normal)

4, check the PSU 12v rail whether stable with multi tester when running 3D games.

I set 45% and the fan speed show 29xxRPM in gpuz, the temperature is ok but the fan is a bit loud, 46-47C idle, the other core 42-43C idle

that XML profile i also don't know how adjust correctly.. 1 is RPM and another is set for percentage of the fan speed...z

if i put 50% and 2500rpm then rpm up to 38xx rpm?! that almost like plane take off liao ....

U just set either one only, by percentage or rpm... I think u can't use both, but 50% for 38xx rpm is a lot, mine if use 50% around 32xx only, what card u used?
