I'm just bought a E66 but I cant send mms or browse the internet , I can;t find the setting from maxis site and also the assistant from maxis cant give me a proper setting. I can only use wifi to surf at the moment. Can somebody guide me on this? thanks in advance!

Try downloading some other phone's setting which is similar to your phone - e.g. E65

But before that, by right your phone will auto configure your setting. If it did not, then you have to refer to your manual on how to set it. It's quite difficult to explain it here

I bought a zitron set yesterday. Transferred my sim card from my trusty old E61 into the E71 but I can't seem to surf using the wifi or 3G. I get an error message which says "Packet data not allowed" or "No gateway". I hope someone here can help or else I will have to make another trip back to the shop.

For wifi, it is actually much straight forward in symbian compare to Winmo. Just do a "WLAN scanning" at home page. Choose your AP and key in password (if got). Then a Access Point(AP) will be store in the phone. Each time if U want to surf net or download something that require internet connection, just choose back the AP.
If U are outside, when U found an AP which didnt locked. U might not use it coz it may have Mac Address filter on. U may need to pay

For 3G, U need to set it manually or U can call your mobile telephone company to sent U a 3G configuration sms..Follow simple instruction and U are good to go.
For Maxis, call 123...I not sure about other telco.

Anybody pls enlighten me on the garmin mobile xt whether can it be use on e71, i've tried my colleague's xt card which was currently working nicely on his e90 but came out error on my phone.

Also, i've tried *hem* before but that version keep prompting to pair with a bluetooth receiver instead of our internal gps.

i still facing the problem packet data not allowed problem,same as the user above.lol....

For those who are receiving "packet data not allowed" error, try to see whether your phone got APN setting or not?
tools->setting->general->security->phone and sim->APN

Coz mine (E71) don't have this setting but earlier symbian phone (N95) got this settling where if u don't activate unrestrict it, it will show "packet data not allowed" error

If got, then go to APN & enter 1234 (password for maxis/hotlink) to unlock/activate it.

If don't have, then I am also not sure coz mine is working fine w/o any additional setting

uiks my new 3g online is ok, but celcom set it for me and set the APN to inactive.

Err, then it should be other way round, inactivate instead of activate

anynew firmwear to update on this e71?

I confirmed that Garmin Mobile XT can be use for E71. In fact, I manage to install Garmin mobile XT to 2 nos. E71.

I suspect either (a)U didnt do it correctly or (b)U didnt activate E71's GPS.

For (a),
go to Setting --> About --> if U did it correctly, U will see something like Unlock ID: XXXXXXX. If not, U may need to 'hem' again..

For (b),
To choose which type of GPS positioning method:
Go to Setting --> General ---> Positioning ---> Positioning Methid ---> Choose All except Bluetooth GPS

Let me know if this work


No new firmware update yet...as far as I know.

YES!!! I finally activated the mms and wap browsing on my E66, thanks to everyone. To set have the correct setting :

1. Please download the E90 3G mms and 3G wap setting from the *100# fpr maxis user only
2. Then save all your setting
3. Then please deactivate your APN restriction by entering puk2 code as 1234
4. You are ready to surf and mms !
