So how's the messaging capabilities of this phone. Is it easier to use the touchpad, say when compared to e71?

Offers upgrade for Omnia. With Chinese Input

A few things to note about the messaging function.

1. It has conversation based messaging function - means you can see the history of the sms with this phone. However I find the way it's done is not nice - the GUI formatting.
2. I still hit the wrong input from time to time. My hands are not that big - I would imagine those who have bigger hands might find it to be more problematic.
3. The position of the Backspace Button is not good. It's located at the bottom right instead of top right.
4. In landscape mode - the space bar is at the bottom right hand conner too. Not good.

go to Start > Setting > System > Version

The latest one should be i900DXHG4

Mine is G3. I noticed that some of the features that someone mentioned from PPCSG already in G3.
- Hactic Feedback Lesser, only launching something will have feedback. (No vibrate when typing)
- Samsung Today 1 Plugin
- Smart Reader
- Changes to Calculator Skin
- End Key Function to lock Device

I'm not sure about below items:-
- Overall Speed Faster
- Some icons are changed (like when charging, Calculator)
- Orientation are better in G4
- More Video Settings
- No change in Memory

This one for sure
- New Input like Samsung Panel and 点讯输入

Anyway, it's just a digital zoom. Not optical zoom.
Don't put high expectation..

But one thing i noticed, Omnia took outdoor picture quite well compare to indoor one.
Somehow the flashlight can be too bright when you take close-up picture.

And you might see the pixelate picture on the screen after you saved it.
Dont be surprise because the picture has been fixed to the screen.
What u do is try to zoom out and you can see the clear and sharp picture.

Yeah, had to agree with that... can't really put a high expectation on it.   
Hmm...does anyone know if mobile telescope is compatible with omnia? or does it has its own version of mobile telescope?

Oh and....which camera surpases the other between omnia (Samsung) and viewty (LG)? just curious....

guys the link given only can choose location as Singapore only? is it okay for malaysia user? will it void the FMG warranty? thanks

Our version 3 has most of the items - except the Chinese software I think. We have all the stuff like BizCard Reader, New Icons & today pages, etc. So an upgrade may not be needed. Anyhow - I don't think it will void any warranty as it's a software upgrade and you're not fiddling with the hardware. However if you are using Windows Vista, be careful - a lot of people having problems upgrading their phones.

wondering when will the chinese input ready for download? or from G3 to G4 firmware already have it?

chinese input is included in G4. Just updated my omnia to G4 and i notice that to lock/unlock the phone in G4, we need to press the lock/unlock icon on screen whereby in G3, we just press end-call button will lock and unlock the phone.

Finally, i managed to installed Garmin Mobile XT on it and it is superb. The satelite locking capability is good , fast and accurate...  

you put your garmin inside my storage or memory card? before mine was working on htc diamond. now still testing on my omnia.  still cannot get the internal GPS working with garmin 

can anyone who have successfully put the GPS software into the OMNIA share with us on how you do it? which particular version is it and where you download ?? any link...

i heard garmin xt need to pair with their own bluetooth GPS to work one wo...anyone can help on this.?? thanks

I put my garmin in my storage (omnia's internal memory)...I will share the steps with u...no worry....

I am using Garmin Mobile XT 4.20.50w (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsUpdates.jsp?product=010-11034-00&cID=138&pID=11413)  and pair with Malsings map GM-MySin Jan 2008 (http://www.malsingmaps.com/portal/)....  Garmin Mobile XT works very well with our Omnia internal GPS receiver. So, you do not need external GPS device...
