i'm good in english and reading and writing but i'm doubtful bout my choice in studying law because i'm a very shy person and i don't like to argue.
so oral is not my strong point..

any advice on what skills the person should have when taking up a law degree?

It doesnt mean you have to excellent in arguing to read law .
But, you should not be weak in oral though .

You will need reading skill, writing skill, analysing skill and memorising skill .

He's right. That's all you need to read law.

Reading law and practicing law is altogether a different thing.

You may choose not to go litigation after graduation.

But I feel that after 3 years of learning and intensive training, you will gradually learn to articulate and to argue your point.

some are, some arent...since this is thread on law under 'education essentials', chances are, a significant number of us are students. if u need any help, just ask!

depends on whether u want to do a local llb prog, or a twinning, or a dtp or an external law prog, or u want to go overseas. if u intend to pursue a uk llb prog either via twinning/dtp or external, look at either:
a) atc
b) brickfields
c)taylors
d)mentari
e)help
f)inti
g)kdu

your ques is pretty general, so i laid down what i would consider the better private law schools in kl as a brief answer.

Why ATC is listed first? Is ATC still as good as before?

i just typed what came to my mind, and having a set of atc revision books in front of me prompted my fingers to type those three letters first...they are in no particular order...

i cant say whether they are as good as before, since i only base my opinions on my own experiences, but ATC kl seems alrite tho i have my grouses. not sure bout atc penang, but im sure someone here can help u with that.

yes, recognised as law degree if u pass CLP, if not, JPA will consider it as normal degree from IPTA. as compare to LLB london ext. this course is cheaper. but the only drawback (some consider as advantage) is u need to answer in BM (FULLY!! CANNOT CAMPUR). smile.gif oh btw, u can answer CLP in BM as well.
