Is Bachelor of Jurisprudence UM External Degree good and is it recognized?
*
yes, recognised as law degree if u pass CLP, if not, JPA will consider it as normal degree from IPTA. as compare to LLB london ext. this course is cheaper. but the only drawback (some consider as advantage) is u need to answer in BM (FULLY!! CANNOT CAMPUR). smile.gif oh btw, u can answer CLP in BM as well.

BOJ is recognised by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam as a general degree from IPTA. If u pass your CLP, your BOJ will be consider as LLB from IPTA. http://www.interactive.jpa.gov.my/webinter...102&strID=24343

it is cheaper than LLB UOLondon hence can save u a lot of money..

u can self study if u do not want to attend tuition, UM will provide u with a detail outline for each subject u take and u can access to UM law library.

but the only DRAWBACK is u need to answer ALL THE EXAM QUESTIONS IN BAHASA MALAYSIA. (haha but for some it is an advantage) btw u can answer CLP in BM as well, so no worry.

if u need further info just PM me

I hope they wont . I've asked some of the law students in UM and they said , i can choose which language i feel comfort with to answer in the exam . The classes sometime is conducted in Malay though .

true... but for their BOJ (ext) the students have to answer fully in BM... how unfair...

Anyone can comment on the "foreign lawyer" phenomena in Singapore?

please read this:
10. Can a foreign lawyer intending to work in Singapore practise his/her own law without re-qualifying?

A foreign lawyer can practise foreign law in Singapore, including his/her home country law, a third-country law, or international law, without re-qualifying, so long as that person is duly authorised or registered to practise law in a state or territory other than Singapore by a foreign authority having the function conferred by law of authorising or registering persons to practise law in that state or territory and he/she obtains an employment pass to practise foreign law.
