QUOTE(blitzkrieg07 @ Sep 5 2012, 01:22 PM) I have been to a few interviews at the top law firms in the country. Trust me, they don't really care what your qualifications are. What matters most is how you present yourself at the interview. Most importantly, your command of english and your work ethics. I would say the LLM would be a waste of time if you are looking to practice. Unless you plan to take a different career path, eg lecturing, then just take the bptc. I see. That's what I thought about taking LLM as well, just needed assurance from others. Thanks. QUOTE(formsian @ Sep 6 2012, 06:01 AM) hi guys, Im currently studying uol in BAC now. I have a question- can I do bptc in uk after finishing uol and come back to practice in Malaysia? No problem rite? yeah, so long as you obtain at least second upper for your UOL here if i'm not wrong.

What is the legal field job available for a fresh graduate law bachelor without CLP ? Does he need to complete CLP first in order to enter the legal career ?
Thanks.

No, an uol itself will not suffice because after year 2007, it is no longer recognised as a qualifying law degree in uk. You will need to sign up for the portfolio from.your VLE. You will also need to complete a research alongside with some small scale projects and you must have EU LAW taken in one of your four electives.

May I know that is it possible to transfer into UK transfer degree program second year directly after I have completed UoL LLB international programme?
Will there be any problem of recognising it as a qualifying law degree if I do my law degree in this way?
Will I will be able to enrol for CLP or UK Bar in this way?
Thanks for replying me.

Currently ATC/BAC did pretty good job. 3-4 years (normal circumstances). 2.5 years if you do UKT. 2. is CLP compulsory ? I have a degree already CLP only compulsory if you want to practice law in Malaysia. What kind of degree you have? Non-law degree is out of discussion. 3. I was thinking of taking the course from Taylors... hope someone can guide me thru this... Taylors provide UKT only. So, if you are affordable, UKT is always better choice to make your life less miserable. thanks a bunch.

Yes, my degree is a Non-law degree. I'm holding a degree in IT. I want to major into commercial law. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong. I still need to go thru CLP to be fully recognize in Malaysia. 3. I was thinking of taking the course from Taylors... hope someone can guide me thru this... ***Taylors provide UKT only. So, if you are affordable, UKT is always better choice to make your life less miserable. [ So the fees could be around RM 80 K...?? thanks a bunch.

--subaa-- since you already have a degree.. I personally think that it is unnecessary to pursue a 80k ukt degree. I felt that if you intend to do part time, try UOL LLB program though it is a bit tougher. Yes, whoever want to practice law in Malaysia by holding oversea law degree must take CLP.

New site launched. :-)
Heartful thanks to you sir for the very useful link for initiation of my search. Added on September 12, 2012, 10:36 pm
Mate,
They will never (at least I hope that is the case) sell you their student record or pass list. Do note the existence of the Data Protection Act 1998. Mid this year, Malaysia will be the same after the coming into force of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
In any event, did you ask them about the standard University procedure for prospective employers to verify the authenticity of a particular qualification purportedly obtained by a particular individual from UOL?
Cheers!
Yes sir, i did follow this through and got some tips. Thanks Added on September 12, 2012, 10:38 pm
I'm sure there are some other lecturers in the college could help you with this? There are quite a number of lecturers are UoL graduates as well.
Yes sir. I searched and got some tips from there. Thanks. Added on September 12, 2012, 10:40 pmIf it's fake, they can always fake it with a serial number. The only way is to confirm with UOL.
Or try asking for the academic transcript. Though I bet even that can be faked.
Yes sir, i went through with UoL and the Head of Transcript had been helpful. Got what i needed. Thanks!Big Thank You to all who have read and replied to my earlier posts relating to potential forgery of LLB and Economics Degree certs.
Hard evidence was received, and CEO fired. Too bad that the board did not wish to pursue charges under penal codes and criminal frauds. No further actions on the ceo's use of forged documents in importing foreign students and taking bribes for doing so. This is the hard fact of life, and the case is considered closed.
I wish to say 'thank you' to everyone here. Thank you. This post has been edited by mikehwy: Sep 12 2012, 10:50 PM

If I take the UKT programme, is it guaranteed that I can transfer to my preferred Univeristy if my results meet the requirements?
