Then why not play around with names.

Like let's say your name is Bob. So B=02, O=15, B=02. So the number becomes 021502.

This way you can tattoo anyone's name on you. And they might not even know if you don't tell them smile.gif

It's been awhile since I last checked out this thread.

I started getting tattoos last June, and so far I already have 7.

1) Celtic cross on my right arm.

2) Portrait of Jesus Christ on my right arm.

3) Latin word "Nunca Caminaras Solo", which means You'll Never Walk Alone on my left arm.

4) Tribal design of the Zodiac sign Libra on my neck.

5) Number "9" on my leg.

6) An ancient Chinese stamp mark of my family member's name on my chest.

7) A chain and pendant of my Chinese surname on my biceps.

I will be going for another one next Saturday after I return from England. Sanskrit writing of "My Mother, Me Hero" on my left arm.

My giant project of a backpiece design of angel wings is still pending smile.gif

ok, i have a really serious question to ask you guys here. advice needed urgently.

i really want to get a tattoo done, was thinking of getting a pentacle, but changed my mind to getting an angel with the word 'faith'. now, the problem is i have an older brother who is a Mormon, and a really religious one and a missionary. most Mormons believe that your body is a sacred temple and should be treated with respect. now i'm afraid of getting one as it might upset my brother.

can't ask his opinion about as he is away on a mission now in chicago and won't be back till next year. but i just can't wait to get it! btw, i'm not getting it for fun.

just get it. i'd say get a devil. if ur brother is upset, then he's selfish. its your body, you can do whatever u like. just explain to him that youre not joining a cult or satan's church. if he's the understanding type. should be ok. but if youre gona care what he thinks. prolly u shouldn't get a tat. laugh.gif

Holy shit. That's 7 tattoos.

I personally believe the adventure in getting tattoos is by getting one at a time, every 6 months. Therefore you can always look forward to your next tat as the years go by.

But you know what they say, as long as you have money, you can buy whatever the hell you want smile.gif
And it looks like you managed to buy yourself some satisfaction. Like refurnishing your living room in one go.

If the bar code is long enough, you can turn it into a band that can wrap around your ankle or your wrist... or your arm smile.gif

I say let him know that you're going to get it, and that with his blessing or not, you're still going to get it.
And also let him know that out of respect for him, you have made it a point to inform him first rather than get the tattoo then show it to him.

THIS way, he may be disappointed when you get it or before you get it. But overall he won't be shocked. And that's all you'd need. Who care is he disapproves? Make sure he accepts it eventually. It'll be harder for him to accept it, if he's shocked in any way. So inform him before hand.
To avoid any preachy lectures from him, make sure you do let him know that you've made up your mind to get it whether he likes it or not.
To show him that you're not being disrespectful, tell him that you made it a point to tell him first smile.gif

13 numbers are abit too long tho... haha...
still thinking what barcode shud i generate...
i really have plans for my future tattoo... and each of them represent something for myself...

and vampires:
as thebassist said, juz let u bro know 1st... even if he disagree, it's still on ur body... u r the one who shud decide to get it anot...
u let him know 1st to show that u actually respect him to let him know at the 1st hand...

like me, i do let my parents know too (indirectly la tongue.gif)...
after i did it, i showed it to my mum... and apparently, she didn't say anything...

thanks everyone for your advice, but...OOPS! i got it yesterday. i'll be telling him the same words i told my mom to convince her: it's not like i'm doing drugs, i don't smoke, don't drink, i don't stay out late. don't go to pubs( why, it sounds like i have a boring life) getting a tattoo is just like putting a beautiful, meaningful image on your body, but permanently. who cares what others think of you, right? as long as you know you're nice, and your friends and family knows, tell those strangers who judge you too quickly to go to hell.

right, got this angel tattoo at Dragonfly, 1U. i think the artist's called terence angel fox. wow, cool name. price: 300 without colour. if coloured: around 700. just brought 400 out yesterday so when i start my part time job and the moment i get my first paycheck, i wanna do the colour in, like those angel paintings in churches and old paintings.
