Hi, I am a new investor.

I think Maybank is great with 6-7% p.a dividend yield per year with low volatility. Great especially buy below RM 8.

Why do people wanna invest in FD or ASNB which yield 4-5%? isn't maybank a no brainer?

You cannot compare Maybank shares with FD or ASNB as it is different in nature 🤦‍♀️

FD is for quick liquidity for emergency purposes while ASNB is very Shariah nature in mind hence different yields instead

Impossible to lose money with the latter. You know I know lah why. rolleyes.gif Whereas investing directly means there's always that risk of Maybank not performing.

risk is higher if directly to buy maybank compare with ASNB or FD...

share price movements is one of the major factors...

the other two... value is same..
meaning u dump 10k.. it's would stays same...

maybank...
let's say u buy 10k worth of shares...
can go up or drop following market conditions.... No confirm to your 10k $$$

Check your margin account as it should be credited into it

M2U is only for your actual cash holding shares

Yeah my Maybank nominee oso masuk either yesterday or the day before. They said all nominees got a week delay compared to Direct accounts. Then kena potong a bit by their hidden fees that I only found out about after sending them an email. ranting.gif

1)      Normal cash dividend – RM5.50

2)      Dividend with DRP:

a)      Cash dividend – RM8.50
