fair warning from experience, this is a very volatile stock. Lots of foreign interest who will sell down during bad times such as high oil price, natural disaster and war.

What to look for in 2011?
- Boost from ancillary income
- IPO update
- Fuel hedging

Recommendation: BUY

It's the business plan and models which makes people like this company. Do you know that Airasia is a famous budget carriers around the world and even my Japanese colleague saying Japanese like to book with Airasia when they have cheap tickets? Not to be forgotten this company is still under expansion program and imagine in the coming years where they will have more flights to around the world and how the money flows into the company to make it's shares even higher. Investors can see the future of this company so they buy it.

Rather Big if you are talking about in Malaysia.

Rather small if you use the International Standard.

Decide which standard you want to use, or else you may think Malaysians are always giving you misleading info .

I also assume you are from the overseas.

And also AA share price may move in opposition of the fuel price .

IF fuel price jumps to US 200, then AA may later sink to a penny stock.

IF fuel price drops to US $ 50, then it may become a Blue Chip.

And JP Morgan ( or Sachs hmm.gif ) gives sell and buy calls of fuel frequently.

Instead of trading in oil, one may use AA as an alternative. But cannot short sell.

BTW, oil trading may have expired dates, AA does not.

Oil dropping mah.
AA plane running almost non stop.. Fuel consumption had around 30% impact to their cost.

Oil drop, significant savings... smile.gif

Too bad the 3.13 only last for few minute of the days and miss the chance to close position.

Upside: MACD is still pretty positive about this up-trend which started on 28/April (20% in 6 session) and no sign of rounding top yet, but MACD is a lagging indicator. Institution is buying for the past 2 trading session but EPF is in selling mode. Break historical high of 3.05 albeit close at 3.06 due to profit taking, typical friday.

Downside: The candle stick has been out of Bollinger band for 6 consecutive session, how many more it can sustain. (My bet is max 2 more session before it trade within the band again) The most i have seen in recent year is 11 on Hapseng.

Probably the main catalyst comes from the Thai/Indo listing exercise.

Maybe it is wise to plan the timing for exit now and wait for a more reasonable level.

For non-holder, in light of the limited upside, waiting might be the best option for now..

AA is very sensitive to external forces esp OIL.

So I wonder TA would work well for stock likes AA. hmm.gif

Oil is highly speculative too.

But some signs of downward trends.

Recent research reports from CIMB, ECM & a few others set TP at around 3.6. But it will take sometimes to reach there.

It can go up further as the latest quarterly financial report to be released soon. Its revenue should make an impact on the company, with the recent surcharge to flyers and as the oil price continues to plummet. I think people already can picture the growth in the past few months. keep watching at the trend, you might pick up something out of the ordinary.

Some target firm even raise the TP to 3.8 although it will be difficult to reach that level unless if there's some exceptional gains in the upcoming report. For me, I will take my gains once it hit 3.2 and wait for next correction before re-invest again.
