massage your scrap when you wash your hair but then stay away from conditioner or treatment which can hurt your scrap....only apply to the end of the hair but if you have short hair, you go for steaming at salon rather than diy at home... eating habit is essential too... use hair fall control shampoo at the meantime....

I'm more fortunate bcoz i didnt sign up even after much or endless persuasion. I hate being force and manipulate by their marketing strategy. Don't need to go Yun Nam,
Too much salt in your diet can cause hair loss because salt is can tax your kidneys and liver. So in return can cause physical stress, which can lead to hair loss. But this is not Male Pattern Baldness and if you lower your salt intake your hair will grow back. And Devielle, hair fall shampoo won't necessarily help you since shampoos does not have anti DHT properties for controlling Male Pattern Hair Loss. Try taking supplements..sure can help you. Well,
buy Vitamin B Complex, take more water, less on sugar drinks. That is only a few tips on Preventing Hair Loss, if your problem is quite big, take Minoxidil 5%. Minoxidil is a Potassium Channel Agonist..means it can stimulate hair growth without causing side effects (like ED) like Propecia. You don't need to buy Rogaine because it is expensive due to the brand name. All generic Minoxidil 5% for men is the same (since they use the same formula) Also reduce stress la, when you are stressed your body will divert energy from your hair to other more important parts of your body. So if you always sleep late from too much WOW or clubbing then you will have more hair loss problem. If you want to know more see the section Preventing Hair Loss in my website. Hope this helps. Regards, Calvin |

Chemicals in shampoo doesn't cause hair loss. The only thing chemical does is cause your hair to dry out and breaks. It's an urban legend myth. But shampoos like Baby johnson are mild enough for people with hair loss. Less chemical..less breakages and drying..means your hair can look thicker.

Yup Oily Scalp can accelerate hair loss..but is not the main cause of hair loss..oily scalp can lead to dandruff...Oily scalp is produced by the sabecous glands in your hair follicle..usually when you are stressed it will produce more oil.
What you can do is get a medicated shampoo like Nizoral which contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole..very good for dandruff and oily scalp (and is a very good anti androgen). But don't use too much..rotate it between normal shampoos..Also..you can use mild shampoo and wash your hair regularly and reduce stress. That will reduce your oily scalp. Unless you use comb to pull your hair out there is no way plastic combs can cause hair loss.. Remember it's normal to lose 50 - 100 hairs a day...because it will grow back! QUOTE(mylo30 @ May 30 2008, 12:41 AM) mental stress and physical exhaustion (including sleep deprivation) can cause hair loss. Can't agree more...stress is one of the major cause of hair loss. Most people just keep on finding for products to cure hair loss while the most common trigger of hair loss is stress itself. When you sleep late or waste your body too much you are exposed to hair loss. If you have genetic hair loss and stress, you will lose your hair a lot faster.try to find a solution to your migraine problem. Calvin |

Plastic combs does not cause hair loss...just static...when you come your hair static can make your hair stick to the plastic combs..so those hairs in the Resting Phase (TELOGEN) means gonna fall off anyway will fall off..Even if you don't comb it with plastic it's going to fall off when you sleep sooner or later. Unless you use comb to pull your hair out there is no way plastic combs can cause hair loss.. Remember it's normal to lose 50 - 100 hairs a day...because it will grow back! Regards, Calvin i have nizoral syampoo... but,doc said,i must to take only twice a week because the syampoo can make my head hot@hangat.. and,i went to tradisional one,he asked me to take hibiscus@bunga raya to make my head cool... so,thats difference made me confuse.. QUOTE What you can do is get a medicated shampoo like Nizoral which contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole..very good for dandruff and oily scalp (and is a very good anti androgen). But don't use too much..rotate it between normal shampoos..Also..you can use mild shampoo and wash your hair regularly and reduce stress. That will reduce your oily scalp. Macho, yeah i said rotate the shampoo..you can't use too much because the active ingredient Ketaconazole is usually meant for treating BPH (Enlarge Prostate) when taken orally so you cannot use too much. Try to rotate between shampoos..use twice a week and then your regular shampoo. As for the hibiscus and bunga raya, that is tradisional medication..i am not sure what it does to help.. You might want to get a natural shampoo from Body Shop that have Eucalyptus Rosemary Oil Chamomile.. These 3 natural herbs will help you reduce your oily scalp.. |

so nowadays there are lots of product to make ur hair grow fast. my friends use gamat oil that is good for our head skin. maybe u should try it too.somemore..it's cheaper. good luck! |

Genetic Hair Loss...or Male Pattern Baldness is not related to normal hair fall. Genetics and your male hormone Testosterone are converted to DHT by the enzyme 5 alpha Reductase..when DHT reaches your hair follicles..it will make it fall and shrink your hair follicles in the next hair growth cycle..so no matter what growth stimulant you use you have to stop DHT first.
That is what Propecia does. It stops DHT by stopping the enzyme to bind with Testosterone..That is why Propecia can give you side effects like decreased libido and potential ED since Testosterone is a male hormone. Females don't have sucha big problem because they don't have so much Testosterone compare to men and Estrogen protects them. One more thing WOMEN MUST NOT TOUCH PROPECIA..can affect child birth... Nope Macho...Nizoral is a medicated shampoo..it contains ketoconazale..you cannot maintain using it daily as it will cause scalp irritation and dryness..Ketoconazole is a synthetic antifungal drug used to prevent and treat skin and fungal infections...see my page on Nizoral.. Nizoral Shampoo
Rotating shampoo or regular shampoo won't cause hair loss..genetic hair loss has nothing to do with frequent shampooing cause it cannot affect the hair follicles..butt you can lose more of the TELOGEN hairs by frequent shampooing..TELOGEN hairs are in the resting phase anyway so it will fall off sooner or later |

QUOTE(boonies @ May 29 2008, 05:03 PM) Well, \Bro, wht combination of suppliment can we take to reduce hair loss? Can we get those from pharmacies?buy Vitamin B Complex, take more water, less on sugar drinks. All generic Minoxidil 5% for men is the same (since they use the same formula) Regards, Calvin Please recommend me please. |

Vitamin B Complex is the best source of vitamins your hair needs...anyway take more fish because it contains Omege 3 Acidc (good for hair growth). If you want to try supplements..there is Saw Palmetto..which has the same effect of Propecia but milder to inhibit DHT..also reduce on salt..Vitamin B Complex is widely available in pharmacies...there is so much to tell you what to get...see my Preventing Hair Loss page for more info here Preventing Hair Loss Added on May 31, 2008, 3:56 pm QUOTE(macho_siot @ May 31 2008, 03:14 PM) Macho, in order to grow more hairs..its a must for other hair to fall off first..new hair grows from under dead hairs..you cannot grow extra hair because when you are born you have around 100,000 hair follicles..so you cannot grow 110,000 hair follicles..you can only grow what you have..So a product's effectiveness is first to make you lose the old hairs then the new thicker hair can grow from below.Let me explain further Your dead hairs are in TELOGEN phase, that means those hair anytime will fallout..you cannot stop it. When you use an active product..it will stiimulate growth of new hair follicles from under these hairs..then these new hair follicles will PUSH out from under your old hair..so you old hair has to fall first in order for new hair to grow.. QUOTE(terryykf @ Jun 1 2008, 08:58 PM) thanks macho for recommendating..Erm..hair loss in women are not so common..is this temporary condition or is it happening for a while now? If it's a while then maybe it's related to stress and salt..but if her face is also oily i believe this could be caused by hormonal imbalance..when your hormones are not stable you can produce more oil on your face and scalp..and hormonal imbalances can cause hair loss. Best is to let me know some details so i can properly advise you.. |

From what i know..gamat oil or sea cucumber extract has good contents of Vitamin Bs..except B12..and essentially a good part of zinc and iron..so technically if you apply it to your scalp it might benefit from certain amount of absorption..however, vitamins are best taken orally for maximum absorption. You can of course try gamat oil..i don't think it will hurt you but never expect miracles from it. Treat it as a hair supplement instead..

Try crowning glory by Vitahealth. And for thicker hair/almond oil try using coconut oil or almond oil. I used that as a kid and it really paid off

Vitahealth's crowning glory is a all in one vitamin supplement for hair loss. The major difference is that it contains herbs like saw palmetto and gingko and..welll i can't really remember all..but it's kind of expensive..i think more than RM 100 + per bottle. Honestly if you can afford it every month (not just for 1 month) then get it but don't put too much hope in it.

Cas, in order for a treatment that works it must have a trigger method..usually all these expensive treatments do not guarantee a cure..most of it is just a word of mouth..so whatever u try must have scientific basis..

- Use shampoo twice a week (max), wash your hair thoroughly using clean water, not just few splash.
- Don't eat too much of fried and oily foods. - Go to bed early. If you comply to all the above, should be able to reduce hair fall. |

well ujah..it's normal for you to lose hair especially after SPM..most of Pattern Baldness started during this time. I noticed you are mentioning about quite a lot of hair loss and if you family do not have a history of Pattern Baldness it might be an indication of stress or other illnesses..maybe you can describe your situation to me in detail like your
hair condition age work time you sleep/wake up tell me your scale from the Norwood Scale Let me know this info so i can offer you some suggestions..usually if you are still below 20s you shouldnt have rapid hair loss..genetics take a while to work..see u soon |

Honestly, if almond and coconut oils can cure hair loss, there won't be a need for drugs like Propecia and Rogaine that sells more than a haagen daz cake every month..well there is no harm trying..but if it doesn't work then u are wasting more time..and time is very important when treating hair loss..

Myth #9
Washing my hair too regularly is bad for the hair. Your hair care products do not harm your hair follicles. You can wash as many times as you like but its recommended to WASH your hair 3 times a week. Also try to use normal amounts while washing your hair. Ques here... M'sia now so hot... if 3 times a week i think i cant stand it la... rinse vif water twice a day n then shampoo 3 times a week , can? |

It might work for you or it might not, personally if you ask me, no harm trying right? Besides, it's not that expensive either so you wouldn't be wasting money. |

If you want to know the real face of Yun Nam,Click this site.
There are a lot Yun Nma story, just Google Yun Nam scam, Yun Nam cheat money, Yun Nam cheat, Yun Nma complaint, you will get tonnes of victims from Malaysia to SIngapore. Propecia indeed bring side effects and it is not 2% claimed by Merck. A survey in my blog shows 51% suffer certain of sides effects. And if you think Propecia will ceratinly gain back the hair u loss, u are wrong again. It is not guarantee. You may just slow down the process just like me. Y I still continue, u will know if u in my boat. I still want my hair back, my i am not putting a lot of hopes. Just pray more. And yes, one of the reason I took Propecia even with risk is gals like guys with full of hairs...but u know, it is hormone related and it is genetics, like a short and fat gal will she become a model like Noami Campell or Cindy Crawford or Jessica Alba? |

hi guys, i am also another sufferer of male baldness patern for over 5 years...slowly but surely grrr. Tried rogaine but was never consistant so i didn't get any results.
anyways i just got saw palmetto and with pumpkin seed tablets by proguard that is supposed to suppress DHT(with lesser sideeffectes compared to propecia). Expensive! a month worth for 120 ... multivits are cheaper!. anyways i am gonna try it for 3 motnhs and will tell u guys if it works. *pray* i just wonder though... does suppressing DHT impede my efforts going to gym? i kinda thought that it is some testosterone thing...it might be related...or not...any research done by ppl currently using propecia and works out? |

Tried rogaine but was never consistant so i didn't get any results. DHT is Dihydrotestosterone..which is a very potent form of Testosterone (Male Hormone) that makes you da man..however..Propecia and Saw Palmetto do not inhibit Testosterone..only the enzyme 5 Alpha Reductase that binds with Testosterone to form DHT. So overall, it won't really effect your overall efforts in the gym but unless u are looking for a super body build up..DHT is also relevant..and might slow down your efforts towards Mr. Malaysia..well u decide..bald Mr. Malaysia or normal Mr. muscular..However, if you want something that inhibits DHT, you can try Revivogen. Currently this product has been proven to reduce DHT on the scalp level only by 95% and it's a super combo of all the anti hair loss action..and the DHT inhibition only happens on the scalp level..so no side effects..I don't know where you can get it in Malaysia but it's quite popular overseas..anyways i just got saw palmetto and with pumpkin seed tablets by proguard that is supposed to suppress DHT(with lesser sideeffectes compared to propecia). my friend is going to shave his head because he has hair loss problem.. he's kinda loss hope for his hair i guess.. i'm trying to convince him that this is not true.. or, is it? but i believe that his problem is related to genes coz his father is already at stage 5 Vertex MPB. any advice to convince him that this is just a myth? and what is the best-result and cheapest way to cope this problem? |

actually hair fall is due to many factors such as stress and tension, genetic problem or inherited, intake of food e.g too much of salty food, ajinamotors, MSG.
i suggest you to consult specialist to find out the problem as soon as possible or else it will be quite serious in the later stage. goodluck! |

There is no brand new hair coming out. Furthermore shaving will not stop hair loss. Most people will initially feel their hair is thicker after shaving but that is just an illusion because your hair at the root looks thicker than the tip. When it's at full length it will look the same.Shaving bald is a good option too..at least you won't have to be worried about your hair anymore...just make sure you have the right head for it. P.S. Shampoos do not cause hair loss..only dull looking hair and hair breaking and split ends..unless u use a very high toxic shampoo then maybe... Erm what kind of hair tonic are you refering to? As for me, i consider hair tonics as a supplementary treatment..imagine you got flu and u take some herbal tea to refresh your throat but you will still need medications.
But of course there are a lot of types of hair loss..but mainly divided to 2 types. Genetics and non genetics..those non genetics are usually very easily recoverable. That is why you see Yun Nam they all use those pics of those non genetic hair loss people. But if you go there, they will tell u 1 thing..no guarantee..why would they say that? Simple, because we are desperate and they themselves cannot cure genetic hair loss. They can only provide supplementary care for slowing down or reduce the effect of hair loss. Only certain medications and strict ways can help. |

I think you are sensitive to it. better stop using it at once or else it might trigger another type of hair loss not related to genetics..

I use a hair tonic. Damn smelly.. its acetone level seems to spike but its cold and helps to numb the scalp when I feel I want to itch them. <-- main cause of hair falling anyway
Never notice the difference... my hair is thick, so even I did lost many hair... It looks like it never change anything. Dandruff is actually one of the cause of hair fall... you should do this treatment first. This post has been edited by aoibhealFae: Jun 24 2008, 11:51 PM |

What I know is the ingredients got alcohol which can induce hair growth.. |

Use Nizoral Anti Dandruff shampoo. It's the only shampoo that contains Ketoconazale that can stop DHT..

QUOTE(Zack Styler @ Jun 25 2008, 12:51 AM) Yes my scalp is prone to have dandruff, but after using anti-dandruff shampoo the dandruff also came back, not sure whether too much scratching of the scalp causes hair loss or not.. If you got long hair as mine, you'll never spot any different lor.... Try to eat more proteins regularly (since amino acids will end up excreted so we need constant supply of proteins). It will help building the keratin on your head.Hair tonic not much difference? What I know is the ingredients got alcohol which can induce hair growth.. I only use the tonic to keep me from scratching but the smell is kinda turn off although it felt good. Scratching your scalp is actually worsening the problem of dandruff. I want to try the herbal stuff but I'm very wary with herbal since there are some herbal might cause your skin to overdry. Alcohol is too dry for hair. Try to use hair mask after the treatment. Well... what works the most? Hair massage... (not with the nails but with the pads of your hands) I actually do massage on people and what happens is that the flakes really come off and the natural oil helps moisten the hair. I usually do my own head massage when I feel itchy plus its destressing. Just don't pull on the strands too much or your hair will fall more. |

hi macho...
my pieces of humble advices: 1.think positive all the time whenever you see your reflection from the mirror. i believed that people will get really down whenever they saw their hair are thinning. this is not gud one lor because in the mean time, they also will create small stress and negative mindset of it which will cause the hair to fall sooner. (dun worry to much about the hair..let your condition in relax mode if possible) 2. i agree with some of the members here of the idea to shave your head or to cut your hair short. it will avoid your hair to fall easily and it can be manageable when you start to apply booster of hair growth shampoo to your head. 3. avoid activities that might put you into too much stress or pressure mode.if you couldnt avoid it, try to counter it with something which might helps to reduce it. a vacation for example. 4. avoid fud and drinks which might cause the hair root to be weaken 5. massage your head everytime before you go to bed, for better blood circulation to head. there shud be few links for best way to massage your head. go for head spa once for a while. 6. take supplement such as BIOTIN which can help to strengthen the hair. 7. do sports which might boost blood circulation to the head. p/s i wud recommend you to try NIOXIN shampoo and hair follicle booster from any salon wholesaler. it can help your thinning hair looks thicker. it helps to increase the thickness and strengthen your hair shaft. long term, you will see your hair size thicker. i experienced it for myself. all the best |

Watson is RM 158
I wrote in my Blog of my Propecia experience. I can not said Propecia is very effective but at least is the most effective compare with Rogaine minoxidil....unless u doing hair transplant I did a survey about the sides effect in my blog and show that it is not 2% claimed by Merck. So beware when u took it. This post has been edited by chgchksg128: Jun 29 2008, 06:05 PM |

I personally feel pantene shampoo has quite a lot of chemicals and I used to drop a lot of hair. Then I stopped and use other brand. It gets back to normal.
Besides that, if your hair has dandruff also will cause hair loss. Stress too. |

UV rays wont cause your hair to fall but it will damage it..making it look thinner. If you have Pattern Baldness try not to expose to UV rays too much too.

Hair Centers CANNOT HELP U..please..i spent more than 10k for treatments in a hair center and the first thing that they will say to you. There is no guarantee. Why do they say that if they can help you? They only say they can stop hair loss (stopping hair loss and getting your hair back is TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS).
Of course initial treatments might be a few hundred RM but then they will tell you you will need dis and dat or else it won't be effective..eventually your costs will boom. Furthermore, some will say that because of your lifestyle or some other food you take is causing the hair loss so it's not their problem that they cannot help you. Why waste money when what they offer you can practically do at home, more often get better results? Please tell me 1 person that faces Pattern Baldness recovers all their hair in a hair center without spending a fortune. Of course, some cases like temporary hair loss like Telogen Effluvium and Post Pregnancy Hair Loss CAN BE RECOVERED by themselves after a period of time and those who went there with these conditions claim that they recovered. You can RECOVER your hair yourself if you face this condition because it's temporary. If you want to trust hair centers, might as well trust PHDs. from USA. I believe their work is more credible than hair centers. PS - One more thing, if you notice they are not expert in helping you to get your hair back..but helping themselves to make a lot of money. Real experts for hair loss are M.D./Doctors/Dermatologists/Hair Transplant Specialists not them. If they are so good they won't need to work local hair centers) This post has been edited by boonies: Jul 10 2008, 02:20 PM |

There is not much anyone can do to stop hair loss.
All treatment out there, even if it can stop your hair loss is only temporary, and you will lose hair once you stop this treatment. I used to worry a lot, but now i have stopped and have accepted that this is male pattern baldness or i have inherited this from my fathers or mothers side. So no amount of chemical or treatment will stop hair loss..and none have discovered anything close yet. If you do, let me know so we could reap Billions!....nice try..but i am not buying any fallible stories as per now!...hehe. Stop worrying and start living, eat well and sleep well, if you lose some hair, its worth it rather then being unhappy and worrying most of the time. For me i got a very very short hair cut, close to a crew cut and couldnt be happier. Even while playing golf in the hot sun, i dont have a problem as i discovered that the short hair style looks good and no more dandruff and itchy scalp .Once in a while i rub Almond oil or Olive oil, which doesnt look bad and they dry up pretty fast! Depression will cause more hair loss, use olive oil and rub your scalp once in a while, to give your hair luster..although it may not prevent hair loss, but it will certainly improve the texture of your hair. Also use mild shampoo only once in a while,as these chemicals can be harmful to the hair. Hair is a crowing glory, but if you keep it short and tidy, who knows you might look better ! Nioxin is good for thickening and cleansing of your scalp area but the product itself does not stop hair loss. What Nioxin does is to create a clean scalp environment plus using herbal and trigger methods to improve your hair thickness but with the presence of DHT, the main cause behind Pattern Baldness, you will still continue to lose your hair.
Hair loss is a medical condition and it's important to always see a doctor first. Most mistakes people make is that they do not pay attention to it until it's too late. The later it gets, the harder to treat it so I suggest if you still got hair on your head, you better start doing something about it now. What Nioxin does is to create a clean scalp environment plus using herbal and trigger methods to improve your hair thickness but with the presence of DHT, the main cause behind Pattern Baldness, you will still continue to lose your hair. so how do i find out the cause??i think it's part of my gene because my dad is also bald at the front of his head....my front is thinning so it's a big M there...Hair loss is a medical condition and it's important to always see a doctor first. Most mistakes people make is that they do not pay attention to it until it's too late. The later it gets, the harder to treat it so I suggest if you still got hair on your head, you better start doing something about it now. Added on July 13, 2008, 1:47 am Dear Boxhead, You should start with finding the cause of your hair loss..then head to Preventing Hair Loss and so on..I hope you get the right information that you will need.. |

If there is a Big M there then it's mostly Pattern Baldness. Pattern Baldness or genetic hair loss to some is the direct cause of DHT and other related factors like stress and malnutrion. DHT stands for Dihydrotestosterone..a male hormone created by Testosterone which female also have in lesser quantity. DHT accumulates in your scalp and cause hair minituarization and eventually falls out. The only way to stop it is to remove DHT from your scalp and to control your lifestyle. There are only 2 FDA products approved for treating DHT and hair loss..which is Propecia and Rogaine. You can get propecia from a prescription from your doctor. Rogaine you can probably get it in any pharmacy counter( not on the shelves) you got to ask the pharmacist for it. Bear in mind these treatments are not cheap. |

QUOTE(sherdil @ Jul 13 2008, 01:44 AM) There is not much anyone can do to stop hair loss. so touch lehh..All treatment out there, even if it can stop your hair loss is only temporary, and you will lose hair once you stop this treatment. Cheers |

Yes propecia might cause some sexual effects when it take it because it limits the DHT formation. However not everyone faces it and I don't see any problems with my sex life even I am taking it for almost 3 years now. Most of the complains regarding Propecia comes from your own mental perception that makes you think the med can make u suffer during sex. Anyway, you can always stop the treatment if you think it affects you. Regarding my lifestyle plans I have written a section on Preventing Hair Loss as well as suitable Hair Loss Treatments in my website pages. My problem is that my hair pores was blocked by oil thus become a skin coz not taken care of and dono what caused it that time. Now I realise that, apart from that, I need to take care of my food intake. Most of our body need proteins and vitamins. We are encouraged to take >40 different types of food daily but we can't do that coz of our environment. Thus, that's where supplement comes into my life. If u r using gel or spray, have a better check around whether it will damage the hair or not and read the contents. Don't simply use it coz it is branded. For those dyeing hair one oso the same. |

izzit u eat too many high salt foods? some foods are high in salt that u do not aware, such as tomato sauce, chili sauce, instant soup, oyster sauce, fast foods, instant noodles.
cafein, pressure, alcohol, sleep late will cause migrain. take care! ^^ |

This is probably an old school method.
1. Sleep early (so your body can replenish lost/used cells) 2. Eat less maggi/noodles. better still, don't eat at all. 3. Consume/eat consistent amount of PROTEIN everyday. as i know, protein is VERY crucial for maintaining hair growth. 4. Try not to use chemical shampoo. Some of us have sensitive scalp, etc.. like me.. using DOVE/PANTENE will make me drop hair almost immediately, but other ppl may not experience any such effect. this may be due to weak scalp. i suggest u go for "green" shampoo, not those Dove, Pantene, L'oreal kind of shampoo even though they claim it is good, as there are actually alot of chemicals inside to induce hair growth, etc... Im not sure how serious is this, but i'd recommend a place.. called NEETA, the owner is call NEETA also. you can go to this NEETA to get more info. it is highly recommended by her customers or those who use this product before. hope this helps =) |

Yeah i agree with lummy, dont EVER USE any of those commercialized shampoos like pantene, sunsilk and all those crap. I suffer from such a problem as well and now my top part is a lil bald partly because i used pantene since i was in my primary school days like those anti dandruff and etc and then i realised as years passed by, my hair is thinning. i stopped using those shampoos and tried looking for diff alternatives... =.=
i even went for Sohon treatment once... similar to those like Yunnam and etc and my mom signed up for me for 10 sessions for 10 weeks long! By the 10th week, my hair did seem a lil thicker but well it wasnt that obvious since it's only 10 weeks right? =.= and since then i've been using their shampoo which was pretty good in controlling my oily hair UNTIL SOHON closed down because of some problems! And i had no more contact on how to get those shampoos.... And again, i had to look for shampoos to control my oily scalp. It had been almost 3 years since i went to SOHON and the condition of hair is beginning to turn bad again!! =( still cant find a good oil control shampoo and to enhance hair growth! But of course i remmeber as well, the SOHON workers used to always advice me to sleep early, eat loads of fish! Hah, sleep early is a big probx for me... =( I've tried many shampoos and hair tonic like hairpro, himalaya.. all doesnt work... my hair continues to drop and that isnt the biggest problem... IT'S NOT GROWING =( that's the problem!!! so any recommended shampoos that are really effective and have shown good results? I'm pretty frustrated as well with my hair loss problem! =( bcuz of this probx, not able to grow my hair any longer than to the lowest part of my neck! Furthermore i'm only 19 =( so it's kinda saddening seeing all your friends with nice long hair or having a cousin who has OVER-THICK hair! =( And i'm also a female, a guy can still hide it by going for the bald look but female is a lil hard... and to ask me to wear a wig, i refuse, makes me feel worst! Do you think seeing a dermatologist would be beneficial? or a waste of money? This post has been edited by Monya Meow Meow: Jul 29 2008, 11:29 PM |

halo...
actually u should just stick to one type of shampoo,in other words, dun change ur shampoo too often. stress,of coz, can cause serious hair fall too.in my opinion,if u're having serious hair fall now,u better go to see doctor.i've once experienced serious hair fall,i've tried everything like no MSG food, exercising to release stress, drink plenty of water and even tried chinese medicine...yet still not work,so i decided to see doctor. he told me tat my body was lacked of protein,so i took the protein pills routinely, and finally...cured... all the best...take k. Cut down on ajinomoto and use shampoo with has little sodium laureth sulfate. You'll know it has little sls when you shampoo because there is less bubble. About your headache.......do you take artificial sugar? If you do,cut down on it. Start exercising too because it can reduce your migrain

probably can try this...
![]() Who can benefit from ProGuard * Man over 40 years of age * Man who is losing hair or having male-pattern hair loss * Man who wants to maintain healthy prostate and reproduction system How ProGuard works * Male-pattern hair loss (also known as Androgenetic Alopecia) is the most common form of hair loss in men. Scientists believe a male sex hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a key factor in male-pattern hair loss. As you age, DHT starts to build up around your hair follicle. DHT causes hair follicle to shrink until it no longer produces hair. This process slowly depletes your stock of hair leading to permanent hair loss. Studies showed balding men have high levels of DHT in their scalp. * Saw Palmetto is a safe and natural herbal remedy for male hair loss. Saw Palmetto berries have been used for thousands of years as a source of food, as well as a traditional herbal remedy. Its active ingredients include fatty acids, plant sterols and flavonoids. * Saw Palmetto works in the same way as finasteride, the drug commonly prescribed for male-pattern baldness. It blocks formation of DHT in your scalp. This prevents shrinkage of your hair follicles and keeps your hair from further thinning. Saw Palmetto is also important for men’s vitality as it keeps the prostate healthy. * ProGuard also contains pumpkin seed oil which is a rich source of zinc. Zinc is a vital component to healthy hair, being responsible for cell production, tissue growth and repair, and the maintenance of the oil-secreting glands of the scalp. Zinc also plays an essential role in male reproductive health and in the production of healthy sperm. |

Zinc also plays an essential role in male reproductive health and in the production of healthy sperm. IT is true that DHT is the cause of Male Pattern Baldness and the only way to fight MPB is to stop DHT on the scalp. Second, Saw Palmetto is a natural herb that can actually help reduce DHT, but not overall effective enough to reduce enough for best effect. and YEs, Saw Palmetto works the same way as Finasteride (Propecia) which is also first created to prevent and treat prostate cancer. It works the same way but to a lesser extent so if you take too much Saw Palmetto you will have the same side effects of Finasteride. Zinc is also important for promoting hair growth and help with the overall metabolism of the body. In conclusion, if you are having mild kind of hair loss, then you might want to try this. If you balding is serious, you should consider other alternatives like Propecia and Minixodil. |

QUOTE(boonies @ Sep 1 2008, 11:22 PM) In conclusion, if you are having mild kind of hair loss, then you might want to try this. If you balding is serious, you should consider other alternatives like Propecia and Minixodil. some info from PROPECIA;Important Information About PROPECIA PROPECIA was developed to treat mild to moderate male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and anterior mid-scalp area (middle front of head) in MEN ONLY. There is not sufficient evidence that PROPECIA works for receding hairlines at the temples. PROPECIA is for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in MEN ONLY and should NOT be used by women or children. Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby’s sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed. In clinical studies for PROPECIA, a small number of men experienced certain sexual side effects, such as less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, or a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men and went away in men who stopped taking PROPECIA because of them. You may need to take PROPECIA daily for 3 months or more before you see a benefit from taking PROPECIA. If PROPECIA has not worked for you within 12 months, further treatment is unlikely to be of benefit. PROPECIA can only work over the long term if you continue taking it. If you stop taking PROPECIA, you will likely lose any hair you have gained within 12 months of stopping treatment. Although results will vary, generally you will not be able to grow back all the hair you have lost. Know the facts. PROPECIA is available by prescription only, so the best thing to do is talk with your doctor. Pls note the bold statement. |

QUOTE(old newspaper @ Sep 1 2008, 11:29 PM) some info from PROPECIA; It's the same thing with Saw Palmetto because they both block the very same thing which is the enzymes 5AR. There are 2 types of this enzyme where both Propecia and Saw Palmetto stops type II while Avodart stops both of them so Avodart is a lot more potent. The enzymes 5 Alpha Reductase that converts Testosterone, a prime male hormone to DihydroTestosterone (DHT) which is a more powerful male hormone. DHT is the main cause of Pattern Baldness as it thins out the hair. Important Information About PROPECIA PROPECIA was developed to treat mild to moderate male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and anterior mid-scalp area (middle front of head) in MEN ONLY. There is not sufficient evidence that PROPECIA works for receding hairlines at the temples. Although results will vary, generally you will not be able to grow back all the hair you have lost. Know the facts. PROPECIA is available by prescription only, so the best thing to do is talk with your doctor. Pls note the bold statement. Comparatively speaking, Propecia and Saw Palmetto are the same thing but Saw Palmetto is at a very low dose compare to Propecia. Further to that, Saw Palmetto receives 0 clinical studies that show that it can recover hair loss. Help yes, work as a stand alone product, no. So if you stop taking Saw Palmetto like as you stop taking Propecia, DHT will come back and when it comes back, your hair will fall off. Just take it that Saw Palmetto is a mild DHT inhibitor. It helps reduce DHT, but not as effective as Finasteride. Also women are not encouraged to take Saw Palmetto so try to get your facts right. If you are a woman don't take too much Saw Palmetto or even consider using it to treat hair loss. Therefore i also encourage people that are reluctant to try Propecia to use other alternatives that can help boosts hair growth. Saw Palmetto is a good choice for milder cases but if you want to see results for moderate hair loss, Saw Palmetto won't satisfy you alone. There are a lot of herbal remedies for hair loss in the market but the how effective are those products to stop hair loss are still a question. Why are there so many products? Simple, good money ma. Considering the fact that so many people face hair loss, most of them are also desperate to try out whatever products ppl say can help. But can those products help? YES. To a certain extent but thats it. Tonics and any herbal applications can reduce hair loss but it doesn't regrow your hair back. It takes more than a RM100 tonic for your hair to grow back so you must be prepared for it. |

QUOTE(macho_siot @ Sep 14 2008, 01:17 AM) HUHU.. Dear Macho, honestly, i have advised you to take a regimen...including Propecia and Minoxidil as well. Saw Palmetto is a complimentary medication and it's not that effective to totally reverse your hair loss. Further to that, since your hair loss condition is considered 'moderate' and you are not under the right treatment, you will still continue to lose hair. Even if you take Propecia and Minox, you will still lose hair because it's normal for everyone to lose 50-100 hairs day. It's a part of the Normal Hair Growth Cycle. my hair getting lesser and lesser day by day.. tried saw palmetto that u told me instead of propecia.. but it not working well for me,, is it needed to me to see doc first and pinpoint my problems?? or u suggest me anythings? If you want to play safe, I really advice you to seek a professional medical opinion on your condition. Your doctor should prescribe you the same medication for your hair but at least you will feel more secure. You will also have to be patient because your hair won't grow back in a month or two. It takes months and years to see real results but if you start your treatment now, you will see less thinning and more hair growth within 3-6 months time. |

comb your hair with a brush.like women do. this will stimulate the scalp/folicles and give better blood circulation to the head.
ive been doing this for the past few years and i still have my 18 yr old full head of hair.turning the big three O soon. start using brushes.NOT COMBES. |

do ur doctor is a dermatologist?
Propecia and minoxidil is the two things a doctor recomend, not herbal types or some kind of oils...I met a doctor ask me not to take propecia but try indian oil...but make sure u r MPB first before u use propecia |

the doc said..
in malay can??? huhu... -> sebenarnye, sistem kita tak boleh time bahan kimia.. macam propecia.. die berkesan masa kita gune,,n when we stop,it will not give us any effect.. ubat: kita makan hari ni 2biji n slame seminggu,, tapi, bila dah lama,2biji tak cukup,, n we need to take more.. badan kita dapat terima bahan2 semula jadi, macam tumbuhan dll.. macam pro guard(saw palmetto).. the doc is not dermatologist, but he seem can influent me a lil bit about that,,, do u know about honey?? the doc said,it will open the root of hair(or something like that) and protein from the PURE honey can spanned by our hair.. i never know bout that, but can interest me a lil bit,, anyone know, share wif me |

QUOTE(boonies @ May 29 2008, 05:57 PM) Yup Oily Scalp can accelerate hair loss..but is not the main cause of hair loss..oily scalp can lead to dandruff...Oily scalp is produced by the sabecous glands in your hair follicle..usually when you are stressed it will produce more oil. MR Calvin , can i know around how much the hair transplant cost ??What you can do is get a medicated shampoo like Nizoral which contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole..very good for dandruff and oily scalp (and is a very good anti androgen). But don't use too much..rotate it between normal shampoos..Also..you can use mild shampoo and wash your hair regularly and reduce stress. That will reduce your oily scalp. Regards, Calvin Added on May 29, 2008, 6:01 pm Nope never heard of it..do you have a link so i can look at it? Plastic combs does not cause hair loss...just static...when you come your hair static can make your hair stick to the plastic combs..so those hairs in the Resting Phase (TELOGEN) means gonna fall off anyway will fall off..Even if you don't comb it with plastic it's going to fall off when you sleep sooner or later. Unless you use comb to pull your hair out there is no way plastic combs can cause hair loss.. Remember it's normal to lose 50 - 100 hairs a day...because it will grow back! Regards, Calvin |

QUOTE(stanley_acca @ Sep 25 2008, 09:32 PM) I am not sure about here in Malaysia, but in the US it's rather expensive. Some charge around USD 3-4 per graft (follicular unit). It also depends on the stage of balding you are in. For moderate ones you prolly need around 3000-6000 grafts...so it's around USD 15k average for a hair transplant. Don't forget other costs as well. I think it's much cheaper here but I don't know any good ones in Malaysia. Singapore i know a few leh// |

Testosterone is not DHT...DHT stands for Dihydro-Testosterone, which is 3 times more potent than Testosterone. Testosterone is a male hormone and when in our body the enzyme 5 apha reductase binds with Testosterone, it forms to dht.. Read more about DHT here.. DihydroTestosterone

well you should listen to your doctor then..he is the pro...maybe your hair loss can be treated by pure honey..give it a few months and then see what happens because everyone's hair condition is different. Since he has consulted you you should trust him..btw what honey is that?

My hair stylist once told me... that excessive conditioning from conditioner will cause ur head scalp to be oily and will cause hair lost. Use shampoo which contains no conditioner.

QUOTE(vincent_leeks @ Nov 11 2008, 09:13 AM) We newlly import the above products after seeing the proven successful result after applying the hair care seires.Almost people lose hair is dwindle when capillary is occurred degeneration - atrophy - death in the scalp. It due to the nutrition cannot transport to hair follicle if capillary died. Two major theories are common consensus on the site, 1. Rogaine(Minoxidil) is a vasodilator. It is able to improve blood circulation in the scalp. 2. Propecia(Finasteride) is inhibitor to inhibit 5- reductase and reduce DHT in hair-follicle. 41 HairMed Spray can stimulate capillary proliferation, repair and reconstruction damaged capillary such like degeneration atrophy death. It can maintain capillary care the hair and the hair-follicle to prevent the hair loss the hair damage and furcating.. The nutrition will transport to hair-follicle again if the capillary recovery. When the hair-follicle is recovered then the fine hair will grow. This is the simple way to care your hair loss. |

dudes...
this is my opinion... opinion means u cant take it as a reference only and u can take it as your habit if it will work with u... I think, eat to much medicine(that consisted of chemistries),it will cause more illness inner your body... for an example,u`ll get the effect of propecia when u using it... when u`re not using it,ur hair will become like old version... that chemistries will effect only that time la... so,I suggest, just try apply pure honey (madu asli, not at giant,or jusco etc)... my UTM`s doctor suggest it to me.. he is the `pengarah pusat kesihatan UTM`... and I asked it to my sis + bro-in-law (doc too),they also think that way.. |

drag, there are actually ways you can cut costs. You can ask your doctor for Proscar, which is actually 4X the amount of Propecia, cut it into 4 pieces and then it's equal to 1 Propecia. You can also try generic finasteride which is the same thing. Some brands are like Fincar is the same as propecia. As for minoxidil, you can get one for around RM 100, if you know the pharmacist. Hair loss treatments are really not cheap but its better than wasting money on other products that dont work.

One of my friend experience this before last year. She kept saying her hair is falling and she was balding in the middle of her head. When she sees the doctor, the doctor said that she shouldn't play too much computer. The stress and the lack of sleep did that to her.

QUOTE(broken_heart @ Nov 30 2008, 03:03 AM) My hair scalp is quite oily and i can feel got a log of "bumps". There are itchy too. what can i do ? Dear broken heart,It seems you are having a bad dandruff problem or Seborrheic Dermatitis, which is a much serious form of dandruff. This condition can be caused by a boom in bacteria known as pitisporum ovale that grows on your scalp. The best way to treat this condition is to use a medicated anti dandruff shampoo that contains ketoconazole. There are other methods that you can use too. Visit my site and read about it in Handling Dandruff. All the best. |

man
up to now there has not been any REAL solution for hair care that can work for everyone. And despite hairclub, propecia, headway,,etc, rogaine, oil, eggs on head, lemon on scalp, anti dandruff shampoo, herbal essence rubbed through your roots..hair will still fall. We can only detain the balding process from happening sooner or later..people spend thousands and if using a specific product--up to millions a lifetime for the sake of hair. Sometimes,it's better to go bald and break free from the chains of beauty. |

However, it fighting hair loss burdens your wallet, then going bald is really indeed a good option to consider.up to now there has not been any REAL solution for hair care that can work for everyone. Hey guys, i've msg to all of u...Have you used these shampoo before? Tracia -Protein Hair care (3-In 1 Shampoo)
or others range of shampoo that u did noticed to aware not to use?? Please note some ''dangerous'' range before we go 'botak' . CLEAR, VO 5, Palmolive Naturals, Loreal Elseve,...etc. thats contain "Sodium Laureth Sulfate"- SLS Shampoo like CLEAR , FRUCTIS ,Vo5! , Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, Body Shop... not to used!!! All these Shampoos use a chemical called SLS which is actually a floor cleaner. They are used so as to produce more foam. Imagine what a floor cleaner can do to you hair and scalp. It will damage the very roots of your scalp. Check out for SLS in toothpaste too!!! Use the ones which are free from this extremely harmful chemical. Type in 'SLS Free Shampoo' or 'SLS Free Toothpaste' in Google.com to get a list of companies selling safe products. U can read more about SLS here: http://www.natural-health-information-cent...th-sulfate.html |

There are percentage figures to be found online with loss of hair for mid-age males in metropolitan. It is a mixture of all causes.
I suggest you watch your diet and sleeping habit too. Choose natural food than anything else, quality sleep with at least 7 hrs. Other than this, the way you clean your hair is critical too. You should shampoo for twice. First is to clean the surface with oil and dust, and it has be to be quick before the dirts get inside the scalp. Second is longer with the tip of fingers massaging the entire hair area with slower pace, without scratching of nails on it, this is very important. I use a special brand from overseas with natural ingredients to help with stronger hair cos i have long hair, for the 2nd time. each time i only use appx. a 50cents size of shampoo. it is only for the scalp, not the rest of the hair. My hair loss issue is gone with this shampooing techniques. |

1) too much workout contributes to hairloss. widely accepted fact. (testosterone)
2) your scalp may need "maintenance". go for scalp treatment 3) genetics. u can't do much about it 4) don't fall for 'organic shampoo' trap. trust scientific peer reviews 5) supplements may cause hairloss. especially alpha lipoic acid. eat food in variety and in moderation. experiement with zinc and vitamin B7 for hairloss see if it works for you. |

In order to have good skin and hair, it's important to take good care of your health first. Naturally, you can see some improvement.
In our hot and humid weather, it's advisable to shampoo your hair daily. Thing is, most people only use 1 type of shampoo. If you shampoo once every 2-3 days, then it's ok to stick to 1 shampoo. But if shampoo everyday, it's better if you alternate using 2-3 types of shampoo. For example, I have dry hair, so I alternate using shampoo for dry hair and normal hair every day. Then on weekend, I use clarifying shampoo for cleansing and removing all the buildup from the styling products. When you shampoo, make sure you massage the shampoo well to reach the roots of your hair and your scalp. The massage can help boost circulation. When you apply conditioner, make sure you only apply to the tips of your hair, not the roots. Else you might end up with oily scalp and risk dandruff. Some guys I know only shampoo but don't condition their hair. This is actually not good, bc shampoo will strip the oils from your hair, and over time, you risk oilier scalp, dandruff and damaged hair. Important for us to maintain a healthy scalp, because unhealthy scalp leads to hair fall/dandruff and other hair problems. I have a tanduk kerbau comb as well. I run it through my scalp for about 2 minutes or so, and I don't get migrain as often. Dunno what's the magic, but it works for me! Last time, my mum used to cook black bean soup for my bro when he was freaking out over hair loss. I reckon that it improves internal health, not sure if that really helps with hair loss or not. |

QUOTE(boonies @ Dec 4 2008, 02:19 AM) If it's not going away you will need to see your doctor for an anti fungal prescription..have a look..Folliculitis i remember i kena something like this last time back in high school. the pharmacist just told me that it was a fungal infection. but i didnt know the name of the disease until now. it's sooooooo irritating. the itch. the heat. everything! and it was so disgusting to look at! they recommended nizoral shampoo for this. works very well. scalp better, but i dont know if i should say it's back to normal coz after that incident, my hair became frizzier and lesser. but it could be hormones. i use nioxin shampoo and conditioner... it works for me.This post has been edited by da3xiah: Oct 10 2009, 11:52 AM |

I think u should cut off all the junk foods and fast food that consist of high level of MSG....
It is suggested that u consume balance and healthy diet as deficiency diet can cause hair lost as well and don't stressed out .... |

Hie,
Most consumers stick to one shampoo type, but if you use volumizing products, whether they be conditioner, shampoo or styling products, it's important to keep a clarifying/cleanser shampoo in your shower too. Using it once a week will remove residue buildup created by volumizing & styling products and allow them to do their job better. If you have allergies or sensitive skin, organics volumizing product might be a better choice. They usually don't include any harsh detergents (such as sodium laureth sulfate) that can irritate the skin and most contain relatively low amounts of fragrance. leimo is effective as in to grow new hair or to prevent hair loss?
actually what's the cause of the problem ha? outside or inside? how would outer treatment (shampoo and all kind of hair medicine) prevent hair loss or grow new hair? if something to eat..then i think it makes more sense as YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT anyone can clarify? I'm also having this problem...my dad's front bald..so i think i'm gonna be like him |

I have been trying many shampoos such as bawang, ryo, botaneco garden, nu nature which claims themselves as hair fall shampoo. However, the hair fall issue does not improve .. I tried supplement such as fish oil, vitamin C and it's still the same .. any advise is appreciated.
