Here are some additional pictures of Marquis. This guy is so cute because of his fur being so long. His head can style macam macam but this is trying to impersonate the lion-cut. Her body fur is even thicker, making him look so round and chubby but actually he's not once you wet him during the shower. I brought him out for a walk yesterday, first time, on leash - he enjoyed it very much.

i'm feeding 30g for breakfast, 30g for lunch, and 50g for dinner daily.

benjac, snowball is 6.5kg, we can't carry him in a bag anymore, laugh.gif sometimes when i bring him out to walk in the park, after walking for 1 and a half hours, he will sometimes jump and look at me, ask me to carry him home. No stamina at all, haha.

doraemon, snowball is approaching his 18th month birthday already.

is his food intake sufficient for him?

sei loh, next time how am i going to curi-curi bring him down from my condo for walks. now can still hide in the bag. i think i have to start carry 10kg bag of rice everyday to train myself sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

about the food intake, i emailed irene and she replied me. i'm following her way since she knows best for her westies. ozzy and christy is the best example of her good care thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

here is how she feed:
1 - 3 months = 1 chinese soup spoon, 3x a day
3 months = 1.5 chinese soup spoon, 3x a day
4 months onwards = 2 chinese soup spoon, 3x a day OR 3 chinese soup spoon, 2x a day (just make sure the amount is 6 spoon/day)

i know everyone have their own way la. so let's all be caring responsible parents and do what is best icon_rolleyes.gif

if like that means i'm underfeeding snowball. i'll follow irene's way from today onwards biggrin.gif

i've tried putting snowball in bags, even in my sis handbag, but he's terrified. so we never force him into a bag anymore. have to hug and carry him around laugh.gif

if you see that snowball is too thin, then slowly increase his food. but don't suddenly add too much, else he might get stomach upset.
irene said, after reach 9mth to 1yr onwards, can slowly increase food depending on his exercise. if he is very active, then a bit more lo.

oh, when you measure the kibble on the spoon, not to be a big mountain ya. just nicely fit the spoon is perfect. she demo for me that time tongue.gif

you must have frightened him when he was small. you can slowly try again, give him treat and put him inside. don't force lo. everyday a few minutes, until he can stay longer. and then only use that to bring him out, so he knows when he sees the bag, it means kai2 laugh.gif laugh.gif

i work from home so i can spend the whole day with him. but he does bark la, very loud and high pitch. he barks coz he wants attention lo, especially when i put him inside the playpen. so now no choice, i fenced up my study area to become his playpen. i am also sitting inside his playpen hehe  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

do you have a westie also? planning to get one soon?

Hi Benjac,

Scubby is looking handsomer. Wish i could hv a Westie. Plan 2 keep a dog in my apartment. Initially had wanted a Westie but now have 2nd thoughts since u say Scubby 'barks' - loud n high pitch. My neighbours will complain. I do need to leave the apartment for several hrs a day and dont hv a maid. sad.gif

Anyway since I enjoy reading this thread about Westies, I will follow up regardless of whether I hv a westie or not.

Ohhh... then snowball's food intake should be okay lah. coz i give 1 and a half spoon for breakfast and lunch, and the 1 spoon is mountain full spoon, haha.

Probably he's frightened when we put him inside the bag. Anyhow we don't really need to carry him around, he goes for evening walk 2 or 3 times a week =)

i think all dogs barks la, if not then they are not dog laugh.gif

i'm staying in a condo also, and with quite a lot of malays. i am also very scared my neighbours can hear and complain. i get panic attack everytime scubby decides to bark for my attention cry.gif but now after 3 weeks together, i am not so scared when he barks. i think if you really wan a westie, you really need to spend the first few weeks with him/her. coz puppies are babies, and are afraid of new environments.

now my only concern is, how to bring him down after he grows bigger. i put him in a doggy bag now when we go out. he knows when i bring out the bag, means he gets to go out smile.gif

you don't zip him up immediately when you put him inside the bag. make sure it has a big base so he can lie down lo. if you force him inside your sister's handbag, unless damn big, of course he will be scared la tongue.gif

anyway, you live in a house so don't need to carry him in a bag ya. for us who lives in condo, then need to train our dogs lo icon_rolleyes.gif

You can start off by putting a bag on the floor and put some treats inside to encourage it to go in. Repeat as many times as required and then once the dog familiar liao, it should go in on its own knowing if there's reward along with it.

Hmmm, I think I might try that with Casper and Moonie. Since now they are getting fat and every time waste the kibbles by not finishing. My dogs need to diet. I will try 3x chinese soup spoon tomorrow morning and 3x tomorrow evening. Try for few weeks, see my dog get more fit or not.

No la, his fur is long, so I purposely mess it up one. Usually his fur goes backwards more than coming forward.
