Dont let this be a problem. See one new drool.gif , abandon the old whistling.gif .
Think of the times Snowball been through with you.
Kasihan ohhhh... cry.gif cry.gif

Casper was our favorite dog and he still is today.
Moonie is beautiful but strange in her own ways.
Marquis is the youngest and most handsome.

Casper is still the most spoilt, whiny brat in our home.

Welcome to Paradise!

Well, crying is normal because he's relocated to a new environment and lost everything he was familiar with. Use the clock tick-tock trick. Placing a clock near to his sleeping place will calm him down a bit, giving him the idea that the mother's heartbeat is closeby.

Or you can try the cruel, dont-care method but I dont think you're the type.

Lastly, you can play with him kowkow until he tire himself out before putting him to sleep. Play with him until midnight and let him KO straight till morning.

When Snowball first came home, I slept with him in our guest room for 1 week! The first few nights I was up at oddly hours, 230am, 330pm... and so on

Your little Scubby will get use to it. Later he will sleep according to your sleeping time. Just make sure he finishes all his energy before you put him to sleep.

By the way is Scubby house trained? Or he's in the process of training?

Do you keep Scubby in a cage or something?
Can snap a photo of his sleeping area?

I had my furkids sleep in cages, extended with 3 pieces of playpen in front of the cage exit. This way, they sleep in the cage and do their biz at the playpen area (which is covered with newspaper).

However, most of the time, they wont go into the cage. They rather sleep on the floor next to the newspaper because the cage bar is line by line and it's harsher than the flat floor. Additionally, the floor is cold - so it's nicer to sleep. Thus when we removed the cage and gave them a cloth, they also kicked it away and love the floor to bits.

he's not house trained yet. i think it'll take a while before i can begin since he doesn't even answer to his name yet. i feed him in the toilet and wait for him to do his business only come out. so far he has marked the toilet and balcony.

scubby is sleeping in a 3'x2' cage, which i used another board to make it smaller so he won't soil the whole cage (recommended by puppy manuals). the cage is inside our master bedroom now, opposite our bed. so he is very near to us.

his playpen is at our study area, so he is now only 3 steps away from my feet. i don't line the floor with newspaper coz then his body will be dirty and smell like the ink lo.

Cool setup so near to your bed / study area.

When he lives in the cage, where does he do his biz? When he's confined in the playpen, where does he do his biz?

Different dog owners have very different setup.

My cousins have their dogs tied outside the house on a fairly long leash. Their food bowl adn water bowl is there. They can do biz anywhere they like, just spray water on it later.

My gf have her dog indoor 90% of the time. Her dog only eat 1 meal a day and is let out to do his biz around 8 - 9am in the morning. 2pm in the afternoon when her maid does the laundry and 7 - 8 in the evening.

My case - It used to be 1 cage extended with 3 playpen at the front exit for Casper and Moonie. 1 big box for Marquis to live in, clip with clothes clipper to a smaller box which serves as a toilet.

Right now, we changed their setup to Casper and Moonie having 1 and 1/2 playpen each. A big 90 x 60cm tray for them to do their biz while they sleep on the floor.

Marquis is going to change sleeping place again this weekend. Cause he has overgrown his toilet-box.

Dont have maid at home when everyone is out to work so training on newspaper is the only way for us now.

Moonie is 100% toilet trained too but we canot allow her to roam around in wet feet in the house after she does her biz. Sometimes, she will ter-step her pee... if walk around the house... come back will pengsan!

Nice to see you guys set up such areas for your dogs.

In my case, Snowball goes everywhere he wants! If he's bored, he'll come up to my room, ask for a treat, then go downstairs and jaga rumah again laugh.gif

We never cage him up, so he's free to roam the whole house. The only time he goes to his cage is to do his business. I can safely say his almost 90% house trained, toilet no problem at all, just the occasional biting habits of plastic bags, and taking letters out from the rubbish bin to bite laugh.gif

Other than that, he's pretty tame inside the house. When he's outside in the garden then it's different story. He doesn't respond to my command when he's playing outside sad.gif probably too many distractions.

wahh so canggih la you guys. this is one of the reason why i can't wait for scubby to grow up. that means he'll be all trained by then laugh.gif

i feed him in the toilet, so will wait till he finish his business only come out. usually breakfast and lunch sure damn fast. but not sure why dinner he never does. according to my notes, he does 3x a day and once at 1am this morning. so i'm preparing myself for 1am later again shocking.gif

i live in condo, so he has to be toilet trained. so far, he has marked the toilet and balcony with big and small business laugh.gif

i bring him to the toilet everytime after he wakes up. he will always pee after waking up and while play chasing. by right i should not carry him to the toilet, but he doesn't know how to follow me on the leash yet.

hopefully by next week, we will both have a routine to follow smile.gif

I dont have a camera right now. How to say ah..

Last time is like this:
Attached Image
Each furkids (Casper and Moonie) has a cage of their own - red line.
Extended with a play pen - black line.
The blue color part are newspapers.

Now is like this:
Attached Image
Its made of 8 pieces playpen, without any cages.
The blue part is a tray for Casper and Moonie, newspaper for Marquis.
Will be moving Marquis out to Casper old cage because the newspaper is getting too small for him.

I am quite sure you wouldnt want him to grow up and lose his cuteness when he's a pup. Remember oh, grow up liao cannot turn back anymore.
Puppies times are quite random, so take extra caution. Once they grow older, their time become more regular. Like my dog is 7 - 8am and 9 - 10pm. Standard.

Patience. This is just his first week so no hurry. Took me about a month or so to train snowball, but after that still got the occasional "accidents" biggrin.gif

Wah looks quite cool, they have their own designated areas. You use boxes to make the playpen?

Casper and tweety are beautiful! How many kilo's are they approximately? I'm trying to feed a bit more for snowball, but his face is not that chubby, dont have the lion cut look, instead his tummy got "spare tire" laugh.gif

wzseow,
I use the playpen pieces, not boxes. The pieces like fencing ones for dogs. RM20 a piece.

larryho,
It's true la, I feel Tweety a little skinny in that picture with the washing machine. Casper is as cute as my Casper! smile.gif
