Hello everyone, i'm new to this thread. I own a westie as well, he's 15 months old already. got him when he was 2 months old.

My family named him Snowball, haha. Oh boy I do love this breed.... so cheeky and playful.

smart looking have always love westies

Spot on mate! Snowball is super smart. My sis has always been saying that he eats too much DHA. we feed him Nutro puppy all this while, hence the DHA... haha.

but wednesday we have just changed his food to nutro adult (beef and rice, i think)


Westies are nice to have, kinda easy maintenance, but they have the energy of Jack Russel, always willing to play and never short of energy.

Yeah got him from a breeder in Klang. I was actually wondering should I send him for breeding? i would love to have a few more westie puppies, hehe.

He doesn't look like 15months old right? he still has this puppy look... like 6 months or so only, haha.

May I know who is the breeder from Klang that you got Snowball from? Is he MKA certified?
I think you should breed him if you really like Westies.

No Pennywise, he doesn't have MKA cert. Because his mommy has it, but his daddy doesn't have a cert, so i was told by the breeder that Snowball is not eligible to have one.

I found the breeder from newspaper article. His name is Marcus, if my memory treats me well.

Pennywise, do you know where and who can I contact if i'm interested in sending Snowball to breed?

i guess its still ok that he does not hav a cert coz he really has the look of a westie. He looks quite nice aso, juz make sure that he does not have any skin prob will be good enuf. 15mth and he looks like tis its normal. Mayb after 2yrs+ he will look more matured and the small lion fur at the side comes out. But aso muz really knw how to groom them oni tat sunflower head shape can come out nicely.

Anyway...its really great to have another westies owner in here....glad to know u....cheers

Added on September 21, 2008, 7:19 amEven myself aso dun dare to put casper on without leash....coz once he sees he cat he will be goin crazy...totally out of control. One thing weird about europe is u seldom see stray cats around, tat is y dogs can be quite obedient here i guess.

Wah...lucky u casper din get into trouble wit tat Rottweiler man...if not tat time totally big trouble, hear aso damn scary. Of all dogs, better dun mess with rottweiler, german shepherd, doberman tis type of dogs man. My casper aso almost got into trouble wit a german shepherd last time, coz tat time i open the outside gate and i din saw the owner wit a german shepherd outside, suddenly oni casper ran out. Lucky the german shepherd owner saw casper running out towards it and then quickly slept on top of its german shepherd man...like juz sitting on top of it and the both of his hands press down the dog's head. Lucky the owner knws how to control his dog, if not i dunno wats the worst that will happen lar. Thank god everything was under control tat time. In M'sia dun never try letting ur dogs walking alone lar, unless they really dun care thing around them lar..like dogs over here in europe....juz focus on its owner oni.

If only one of his parents have cert, then what u were informed is right. Its ok because if its only kept as home pet, without any breeding purposes, i guess its fine.

This Marcus dude seems quite popular. I first heard his name from a groomer in pj. This groomer is the owner of Morris and Morris is my Casper's sister. Soon after i found out that this same Marcus's wife is my fren's best fren.

Sorry that he's ur breeder but from what i've heard, he doesn't have a good reputation. He cheated my fren [his wife best fren] by selling her a breed stock female westie that nobody wants. Cheated her money also. But recently my fren told me someone cheated Marcus with a bounce cheque while purchasing a westie from him. That wouldn't be you right?

Well what goes around comes around. Serve him right for cheating others. Hope he learn a good lesson. For your info, he live nearby. He doesn't know me but i know him because i know most of the breeders from klang.

But now I'm actually thinking of breeding Snowball. Do you know anybody that i can contact for bredding purposes?

Oh my, didnt know Marcus has such reputation. I bought Snowball for RM1800, but it came with a dog cage, food bowl and somee basic stuffs. It was in August 2007, he had 2 westie puppies that time. I went there personally and chose the male Snowball, because i realised that the female westie was kinda pushy, trying to grab attention and was barking loudly from the cage. snowball wasn't timid as i took him out and played with him, that's why i chose him

The guy who cheated marcus was not me though. because i paid him RM1800 cash... haha. money well spent though, snowball has brought so much joy to my family and friends.

Malaysia weather and westie dont seem to match well. Some westie has skin problems but others dont. I'm lucky that both my adults dont but Marquis is yet to be seen. Casper had some issues at first but that was due to Orijen, too much protein intake and little digestion causes skin problem.

Oh yea, the ROtty was still a pup and he dont look fierce. HOwever, he's dont look afraid also. If you go to him with a stick, he would only move back a few steps and come try again. So it's quite dangerouns actually. I am just glad he is not the fierce type so Casper was lucky. Because when Casper ran back to me, I catch him and the Rotty was just nearby, could've just plunge and attacked me when I bend over to pick up Casper.

Somehow, I dont think any owner should let a Rotty out on its own without a leash. It's a housing area with a padang where 3 - 4 kids were playing soccer at that time... Imagine if the ROtty had attacked them. Blood shed! You're lucky that the german shepherd owner knows how to handle his dog, put his weight onto the dog and held him down... Otherwise, dont know what will happen. But for the owner to do that, it surely indicates that his dog is a fierce one. WE're both very lucky.

Anyway, no idea how ppl train dogs to be so obedient but my dogs are very well with the STAY command as they're pretty impatient.


Hi... I was just kidding by asking you if you're the one who gave Marcus the bounce cheque. Oh yea, I was informed around last year, he had 2 pups. He lives in a condo / apartment when you saw the puppies yes? The mother of the westie you bought should be the one which was sold to my friend. She is debark and is sole purpose is used for breeding. He bought the mother from my family friend who is also a breeder name Mr. Chan.

Long history / story... but overall, if you're happy with Snowball, that's sufficient. Where are you from anyway? I am from Klang, I have 3 Westies now. Just got my 3rd one on 31st Aug.

I'm somewhere very near Klang. I'm staying in Kota Kemuning, erm Kemuning Utama to be more precise. I've seen your dogs from the previous post, lovely dogs you have there. I can't handle even one little rascal, what more you with 3 westies? bravo!

I'm actually thinking of getting a female westie to breed them. but my mom refuses, saying one dog is enough. so i have to search around to see if anyone wants to breed westie.

How I handle 3 of them? I dont do it alone. If alone, long time already break back bone. How do you train your Snowball to potty? Mine does it on newspaper so you can imagine the amount newspaper I have to clear. I even have to go take newspaper from my gf, my friend, my grandma house.

This story was manipulated as if i'm in the wrong.By the way i'm the Marcus that you all mentioned.I suggest you all (MATTHEW) must listen to both side story before determine who is right or wrong. This bloody b**** name sue ann which is my ex fren and also not my wife's best fren to be precise had actually propose to me about getting a westie. So i as her fren i help her to scout around and i found my uncle is selling it. But then he's only selling it with a condition where i must buy all 3. I don't even have a clear pic about the breed and i'm not interested in westie at that time but i take up this breed because of sue ann wants it so i join venture.I got the 3 for 5.5k and she took 1 female and i took a pair. I sold the female to her for 2.5k and i admit that i've made about 500 out of her. But do you all ever think of me? Because of her wanting the dog i have to purchase all 3 and i've told her about the price and she agreed ( i never take a gun and force her to buy ).So female carries a better value compare to male and if u break even her female worth about 2k.I refer to my uncle pertaining this issue and he said what i've done is not wrong. More on i was mad at her because she spread false news to others saying i'm the one who wants the dog 1st and she's innocent. Forever she's like that, always put the blame on people, never think of people, never a time think rasionally and that's why nobody likes her and she doesn't know it till today. She only know how to complain about her fren's and family but does she ever think of herself having a very very big attitude problem? Recently i even heard of a pet shop lady told me that she asked her to stop taking puppy from me due to some reason.
