How often do you bath your dogs, larry?

My puppy ah? Hmmm... he seems ok, he is getting better now and more responsive to treats. Give him treats to make him learn the command Come. Still got a long way to go for him. Must at least know the basic - sit, come, down, up, hand, rollover, bang bang, go home. All other tricks, quite lazy to teach - kinda difficult cause i'm having a handful with my second westie - Moonie, she has very low confidence so she hunch or squat whenever walk, must even teach her to walk straight or stand straight... Sometimes bongkok, sometimes like crawling, sometimes the leg too high up like kangkang.

I'll bath them twice a week on every weds and sun. But sometimes they play till very dirty outside the house like kena dirty water or mud, then i'll bath them immediately.

I guess u need to have some sport activities with Moonie so that she can get back her confident. Westies are hyperactive dogs, its not that u train them and they will b ok i guess. Try playing wit her always like fetch all those or running around wit them. Bring them out often aso proves to be a very good exercise for them. I hope this will work for Moonie. I'll normally hav outdoor activities with them quite frequent like ball fetch or even play with them in the house.

I think I read before somewhere, that Westies are like stray dogs over in Scotland.

I wouldnt say stray la, I think it's common. Its afterall the country of origin. Just like you go Hong Kong and see chinese as the most common race.

Ok, I used to bath them on the same day - Wed and Sun but now less time, so only on weekends. Occassionally my sister help out on a weekday when she dont have tuition but now her SPM is nearing so no more help till its over.

Yea, i've been intending to bring Moonie out for dog events but there hasnt been any plans at the usual dog event at Central Park, Bandar Utama. I just think she need to socialize more. Most of the time, I bring her meet other ppl (humans, friends), she always curl up and turn over and ask for tummy rubs.

People tell me its not low confidence, else she wont feel safe with tummy rubs. Haih... even I am confused on what to do with her.

Haha....then i guess its her habit then to look less confident. Mayb u can try to make her feel energise, keep playing wit her so that she will feel motivated. I wil hav a few toys for my westies, but dun take it out for them to play alwaz..keep it and bring it out once awhile so they will feel the toys they play are precious. I'll normally play football or fetch wit them and that is their routine activities actually. But if possible, play wit her alone so that others wont disturb her and make her feel demotivated coz if ur other westie keep on getting the sportlight, she might feel uncomfortable. If she's still the same moody style then really duno how to help her adi lar.

Anyway, does ur westies play wit each other like chasing each other?

Yea, confidence problem la this girl.

Last time Casper like to play catch ball but now got many friends liao, dont want to play with me anymore. I had a controller car where I tried to catch them last time but when I think about how they are afraid of it may bring a negative effect, I stopped.

They chase each other and Moonie seldom get involved - she's super lazy. Marquis and Casper got chase around la. I am hoping to bring Moonie out to meet more dogs so she get a confident boost.

I was actually wondering of training my Snowball some agility tricks, eg weaving poles, jump through hulla hoops etc.

Do you guys know where can I get the weaving poles and other agility training equipment? I saw some clips on westie agility, they can't weave that fast, biggrin.gif but still as adorable

19oct..i'll be back by then. Lets see whether im possible to bring both of my westies over or not. But I'll be back to M'sia on the 16th oct, so im juz worried it will be alittle rush for me. But i'll try to make it if possible.

I haven brought my westies to all this kind of events actually...but its quite fun to bring them out and get to knw other dogs if possible.
