Sorry guys if I have led this question out of topic, but may I ask something?

It's been bothering me and a teacher of mine kept advising about holding on to Physics instead of dropping it...

Is it necessary for animators to learn SPM-level physics? I don't really see why strings of equations are needed for animation, of course maybe animation has their own type of 'physics'.

Would you suggest what subjects is appropriate or necessary and which are not? I'm gonna drop Physics AND take up Art, is it okay?

Thanks for reading this! tongue.gif

And...what about maths or add maths? Do you guys use some of those? rolleyes.gif

Oh wow! So much? I'm in semester 2 foundation. I have a few classmates who quit although they didn't do badly but they simply can't handle the stress, a few who have to be a semester behind cos they failed some subjects and some who changed course. :/

Yea,ours was the most DRAMATIC batch=) alot of ppl from my batch quit becuase they can't take it. i'm not sure about you now, but last time,we were required to hand in 5 pieces of figure drawing per week=) FULL SHADE..hahah,i'm sure you know what i mean. Then again, there are some who quit halfway because the fees were just getting abit too expensive. I nearly quit too because of financial problems, but managed to pull through somehow. Honestly, thinking back, it's not really that hard to do the coursework. It only starts getting stressful when you start piling up your workload and leave everything to the last minute..so yea, do your figures tongue.gif one figure drawing a day ain't going to kill you..hahah

Speaking about figures, I am doing now. But from 4 per week, now it's 2 per week with outlines. As we are in semester 2, we have to draw 4 nudes and 4 imaginary ones. And yes, I'm piling up my work, so it means no sleep tonight cos I sucks in figure

Well, wouldnt be a bad thing to start practicing. Would really help alot when you cultivate a habit of working on your figure drawings..

Aih, i'm telling you, no matter you major already or going to graduate, you'll be dreaming of holding that grubby 2Bs, 3Bs or even 4Bs pencils. Cause it's going to be a norm that you'll be drawing WEEK after WWEEKK up until the day you graduate..well, just enjoy it while you can. Besides, drawing is what makes us special compared to the other art colleges around=)

You won't fail as long as you hand up all your assignments, and make sure it is not last minute job. People can tell, don't try to cheat your way through. The lecturers can determine usually how long you spend on an artwork.
