Here is from my own expiriance just to share with you all...
Poppers: Fish that loves poppers are mostly Toman, Giant Travelly.. The best time to use these poppers are when they are on a feading frenzy, like if you were hunting toman, watch them carefully, if they are hunting those small fishes on top of the water, that is the best time to use a popper, for GT, if you were at the sea, you would see splashing on the surface of the water, they are on a feeding frenzy too, might be hunting ikan tamban or those normal fishy we catch with 7 eyes @ apollo rig, cast your popper there and retrieve till you get a strike, Remember, the tail of a GT is sharp, makesure you have a thick leader or it could just hit its tail and its free to go, drag should not be too thight as GT are fast predator fish, Spoon a.k.a abu island and and those lookalikes These are good to attract fishies in dark water (freshwater). I ever caught a ikan Bulan with this, tomman also would love this bait (as i said dark waters). Spoon is really2 easy for beginers. Because of the shiny reflection, it looks like a small fish in distrest and the scales reflect the sunlight.. so those predetory fish should get attracted by this. In the sea, fish like Alu-alu love this spoon but, a chance to land alu-alu with a spoon is 50/50 as thier teeth are sharp and spoons arent big, but it still does the trick to land fishy for beginers.. Trolling This is a tecnique where most people who go out to sea to fish as a game or hobby to lure those alu-alu, senangin, tenggiri. The best colour is red n white. But it dosent guarentee a catch tho, depends on the speed of the boat, What i've tried before was a speed of 8 knots. (trolling has its own equipment and mostly is by using a baitcaster reels not spinning reels and not lowproflie baitcaster and a rod which its reel seat are made from aloi) Trolling dosent work in freshwater tho 0_0 Hope these thing helps abit.. im not a profesional but i have experiance... Now is febuary, shouldt u guys get new gears? Hehehe.. since i bought a daiwa millionare cvx 253a. Whatbout you guys? |

There are 4 or 5 ponds there.Cheapest(standard) rate is RM15/hour with RM100 deposit(if im not mistaken). Most expensive is maybe RM50/hour(not sure). QUOTE(jedi_master @ Mar 9 2011, 04:33 PM) Of course you can't fish their fishes la. You can fish around the kelong where its said there are many big sizes lurking under the water. If you're lucky you can always try your luck. I plan to go soon but no kaki and its kinda troublesome that you have to go to Pulau Ketam and then take another ferry to the kelong(its around 20 mins from P.Ketam only tho).QUOTE(Raymond8878 @ Mar 9 2011, 05:40 PM) Kelong. |
