What reason?
New house or old house? Doing renovation?
More info please, before I can think the best method.
And the runner best to obtain from your nearest TNB branch.

Hi Supersound

after renovation actually..
my previous contractor went missing, he suppose to have this done, but you know...
i am still on single phase.

i have 4 airconds
-2.0hp, 1.5hp, 2x 1.0hp

and 3 water heaters
even though the chances to have all water heaters to run concurrently is very low, but i still dont dare.

the internal wiring is done, but all MCB's are running via a 63A ELCB.
I need to upgrade this to 3phase configuration

Internal wiring is 3-phase type or not? Only worry he never did the right job.

3 phase meant outside wires should be bigger than normal 1 phase right?

If TNB never do upgrade on link Terrance house wires pulling from all the way, then you can't enjoy the 3 phase also, from what I saw on shophouse meter & cable wires was bigger diameter than normal one.. laugh.gif

How they upgrade on roadside of bigger wires I don't think they will do.

Nope. single phase come with 1 in coming cable while 3 phase come with 3 in coming cable. The cable size is the same.

Hello! I had the same problem last few weeks too, was seeking high and low for reliable electricians. Was googling like crazy la then I came across this website call kaodim.com. Pretty cool man seriously. I got like 3-4 quotations in one day then I get to compare to make my decision! SUPER COOL!

thank you for sharing...

today i went to nearest TNB (USJ subang jaya)..then I was referred to one licensed contractor..managed to talk to him about the pricing, plans, timeframe..

most probably my house will have 3phase done by 1week time.
price was reasonable. he will do A-Z including replacing to new a DB box.

thanks

hi guys, my new house already come with TNB cable for 3 phase but the TNB meter is running only single phase. I had change all my db and 3 phase cabling to the TNB meter. Now left only applying from TNB for the 3 phase meter which is bigger. I was told to get runner which cost around RM2.5k include deposit and replacement of the new bigger TNB meter, is this pricing ok?

1) normal connection fee from TNB-Rm1150 or RM1250 can't remember.
2) then there is the top up for the deposit
3) lastly its the runner's fee.

I did mine around 2k so 2.5k should be ok...

Actually you no need to apply for 3-phase on your case. Since 3-phase are more on load balancing after the distribution box.
But if you continue to run single phase, only the main cable to meter and meter to your main distribution box will have extra load, if you were to start 4 air cons directly.

If it includes the deposit topup then it's indeed very cheap. Good for you
