i m not really sure but RA+3 definitely will balance out the -15% affinity and give an extra 15% affinity if i m not mistaken.

if you cant get artisan in, you can use tigrex gs instead (its worth it)

Hunting at Sunway? Don't think it's a problem. Exsea, Sunway is just 5-10 minutes drive over from my place so it's near.. We can find a day during weekends and we can meet up with them for a nice hunting session

For Black Diablo, a good weapon of choice against Diablo is Poison SNS (Queen Rose) as they take more damage from Poison. I hate fighting Diablo with Hammer(Unless I flash him like crap), his burrow then appear underneath u attack is too fast for me and a pain in the ass..

For Los Rubies, Do the epic hunting quest in G-Rank with rathalos in it, the chance to get is almost 80-100%, the bosses are much easier to kill than single bosses.

Suggestion for armours, don't go for things that you can get from the kitchen such as longer life bar (u can get this from eating Fish + Bran or drink Max Potion) or longer stamina bar (Eat meat in game!! ) Go for something more solid that can really help u in game. Here's a list of commonly used Skills that I usually mix and match when i'm using different kind of weapons depending on who i'm fighting..

1. Expert (If u love critical), 10 Gives u Reckless Abandon +1, 15 Gives u RA+2, 20 Gives u RA+3.
2. Unseath critical, First hit becomes 100% critical (good for GS, read Exsea's Essay about GS above )
3. Stamina to get Runner skill (Unlimited stamina for charging/run for ur life)
4. Fast eating/Cooking (Increase eating speed, don't choke can be a life saver during critical moments against fast bosses)
5. Artisan (Push ur weapon sharpness 1 rank higher, eg: White->Purple, Blue->White)
6. Sharp Sword (Ur weapon won't go blunt so fast)
7. High Grade Earplugs (U need 15 to earplugs skill, 10 only gives u normal earplugs, take note that most rarity 9-10 armours gives only 10 to earplug skill, u still need to socket jewel to make it High Grade Earplugs)
8. Guts (Prevents u from getting 1 hit kill if your life is above 60-70%, life saver for Bow users or fighting against high damage bosses like.... Rage Tigrex or Diablo?)
9. Quake Resistance (Very useful against Shen Gao Ren (stupid giant crab) if you are a melee fighter.. the stomping effect from the legs does nothing to you with this skill )
10. Attack Up (Pretty Obvious, usually I don't bother as the damage added varies from 1 weapon to another, eat Demon Drug or use your kitchen cats to boost it Meat + Vege)
11. ESP (You need 10 to Fencing to get this). You can cut through anything with this skill, your weapon will not bounce but your weapon will become blunt faster than usual... U need this when u are fighting against fatalis and Chamelous..
12. Guard +2 (Useful for Lance/Gunlance users)
13. Evade +2 (15 to Evade) Increase Invulnerability time when you do the superman jump..
14. Evade Distance Up/Evade Inc (The name shows it all.. U evade further..)
15. Short Charge (reduce the time needed for charging weapons like GS, Bows or Hammer, Lavasioth (AKA Volganos in MHP2G) armour gives it).
16. Perceive/Observerance (you can see the pink dot from paintball in ur minimap turns yellow when the monster is ready for capturing)

And the list goes on.. For types of armours, just go to Minegarde and use the search function, some armours u can get it from Mix and Match different armours with similar skills and also through Jewels..

Btw, we're hitting the 54th page now, I think we need to start a new V6 for this thread? A suggestion for the next thread, we should put a list of hunters with their HR ranks, preferred weapon/weapon of choice, location and Xlink kai ID (If available) so we can have a better idea who we can invite during gatherings. Thoughts?

Yeah, but diablo using hammer? Not really easy coz the head is too high up and ur weapon will bounce off the head.. Usually i just pound the legs until he fall then do a spinning attack that ends with a golfswing on the head (so it won't bounce) lol..

Well Kazeru will need to agree to that first isn't it since he started the previous ones?

Cleared the elder cat quest? Ur still far from completing the game.. Try completing all the Guild Quest

Any armour also can use Jewel, u just need to count the amount of slots needed and what kind of jewel to socket. Akantor if I remembered clearly already has 10 to earplugs, so put in 5 more earplugs jewel will give u HGE and with ur remaining slots maybe u wanna balance back the minus skill...

in the beginning i d recommend just make what ever GS u can make.

high sharpness + sharpness length is preferred over raw damage
affinity isn't too much of a big deal (the damage bonus/penalty is not too significant for me)

for low rank ppl, i d suggest them to make ceanatur gs, tigrex, then diablos, in that order.

ceanatur gs is good (even with 100 lower damage than others) because it is sharper than other gs. using an incomplete ceanatur gs, with the help of artisan skill, you can reach purple sharpness probably a 1 or 2 HR's faster than usual.

tigrex is the next to make. ceanatur gs would be used to hunt tigrex, and tigrex gs is abit impractical when you first get it because of its high negative affinity (-30%). once a you get drawn critical skill, tigrex will be your weapon of choice.

diablos gs would be the "final" gs that you will use all the time once you have both artisan and drawn critical skill.


that is my recommendation, however when i first played, i kept making many different gs for the heck of it. (waste a lot of gold but dont regret it too much)

Question : Though I do love using GS, I love using HH too. I'm currently at HR 4, having trouble with AzureLos, What HH or HHs are good to use at that stage and also any armor that compliments the HH?

yeah kinda harsh, but when i first started, it was on mhf2, and at times i got stuck with some bosses so i ended up using/making different gs's due to boredom (everyone starts as a newbie ;D).

not only that i have sieglende or siegmund or something, aka the best gs in mhf2 that can't be upgraded in mhu. the only time i use reloads are for polishing ancient stones.

for the people who cannot online, then they should probably hook up their psp's to a cyber cafe pc and save all the information they want/need into it eh cancel that, just go starbucks or someplace with wifi connection and go online from there using psp.

Added on October 18, 2009, 4:17 pmhh is a fun weapon, you have a lot of different attacks and you can even buff yourself/your allies. i m not too sure on what hh u should use, however you probably should check minegarde.com 's weapon list. look for hunting horns that can give you windpress/earplug skills.

when using hh, your main attack should be circle+triangle. triangle infinite combo (or isit circle i forgot) deals very little damage. probably you can use an elemental hh.

to fight los's anti windpress skill helps a lot by allowing you to stand below him while he's landing, allowing you to get in free hits.
earplugss is used to handle his roars. rath roars are quite fast. if you get caught by a roar, the rath could run into you right after (possibly killing you).

you should probably get "horn" skill or something. the one that adds to the duration of your buffs.

despite the weapon having "high damage" it really does not. hh is mainly a multiplayer weapon, heck even in multiplayer me and my friends can handle bosses well without needing a hh user. to add insult to injury, mh3 doesnt have hunting horn any more.

i m not going to say using hh is wrong, but for solo purposes, hh really is a pain to use. you need to take time to buff, your damage is lower, you will always be worried about your "runspeed" buff finishing. you will need to spend time rebuffing, healing yourself with a hunting horn is only realistically doable when the monster is disabled or not in the map. if it was disabled, i'd rather whack it rather than buff/heal up.

my advice is keep your hh's, if blunt damage really is your thing, go for hammer. you'd be surprised at how fast hammers can kill things. (i still prefer gs tho)

Derlin, regards the strategy on Diablos or Black Diablos, or Monoblos..bla bla..blos family.I still find GS rules...all you need is to sonic bomb it and after it will struggling for 4.5 seconds..u can charge lvl3 GS on his back aka spine..then u sheath the GS and wait from him to fly up to the sky..then u observe the first wind press..after the first wind press appear... go slightly to its left side tail ( its weakspot) make a lvl3 charge..when it comes down and ur lvl 3 charge ngam ngam will strike its tail and it will stagger...go and try ..haha

can take it down around 20 minutes...
