Sad to say, i'm no longer eyeing on 9600GSO ade. wanted to but that damn salesaman keeps post phoning my order. So now looking at ATI 4850. since the new series are out, this part of the form seems kinda quiet. Only the kings ( Successful Mod) are busy sharing their creation

erm....haha....not many ppl wanted to share their OC result also...
actually leonardtan2, 4850 is good, if u have the money to pay 200-300 extra, get that card...but wait for 4870 if u are not in the rush, and have more budget then RM800, that card gonna be damn good i think

the 4850 performance is slightly better then this card if it success mod, which almost equal to first gen 8800GTS

I still haven't give up =) I don't need the 128 sp. If I can get to use 96 sp with 512mb and 256-bit that's good enough for me.. But I can't seem to find a tut to do a bios mod of pipelines =/ I tried 8800GT bios though with 112sp it still artifacts. Those who fails 8800GTS bios did you guys tried 8800GT bios?

Added on July 1, 2008, 11:13 amOh yea.. And I tried 8800M GTX bios for the lulz... Since it has 512MB 256-bit and 96 sp XD As expected it fails since it's different board though same G92

I think the BIOS does not determine the number sp (since all chips r laser-cut except this gso oc obviously). With 8800GT, those 8chips 9600gso oc are still getting 128sp.

Issit? Darn.. I forgot to check with 8800GT BIOS in GPUz got how many sp.. I thought can modify via BIOS.

May i ask? What will be happen if the 6 chip version modded with the GTS bios? any effect?

ok, let me make this clear again....the reason for the modded bios used so that the 8 chip version will be able to use all the 8 chip, instead of just the 6 chip..
of course, not all ppl are successful, but then, if u have 8 chip, u can alway try it out, but then if u mod the 6 chip version to 8800 GTS, in the original purpose, i cant see any point...

but if anyone knows that it's more then just memory chip issue, please correct me, i am just giving this statement from what i know, i don meant to say anything misleading...

Hello everyone, I just bought this Galaxy 9600GSO OC edition and installed it into my system.. But before i did any overclocking, (in the default state) the temperature kept rising up.. and whne i try to benchmark it using the 3dmark06, after a few minutes, the system start to hang up, and temperature even reached 90C???

What happended here? is the graphic's fan had a problem? or insufficent power supply??

first of all, what's the surrounding temp??
also, did u open up ur heat sink and put back, cos high temp can be caused by improper attaching of hsf
or u might raise the voltage to 1.3V??
also, what software did u use to monitor ur temp

i didnt open or take any part out from the graphic card.. just the way i bought it..
Also, i didnt raise the voltage yet.. this is the default state of the card..
I monitor the temperature of the graphic card using the extreme tuner and GPU-Z...

Surrounding Temperature.. im not so sure.. I used a Tower Casing and connected 2x 12cm Cooler Master Fan at the side panel and the front panel and add up a 8cm fan on the back of the casing..

I used 8600GT gigabyte silent pipe before i upgrade to a 9600gso card, and nothing ever happened with the old card.. Now, I can even feel the heat from the graphic card when i sitting next to it

no way. the 16 SP r laser cut...
