Hi fellow forumers,

just a disclaimer, i've done searches on the web and on this forum prior to this posting. ok on with my question,

Yesterday while i'm happily using my iphone (1.1.3 firmware - 1 year ago + +), my home button stopped working suddenly. After powering off and on manyu times (by pressing the power button on top right) the problem still persists. However, suddenly my sounds stop working... my alarm can ring but vibrate only, ppl call me but vibrate only... and a few hours my microphone on my phone stopped working. When ppl call me they can't hear me talk but i can hear them talk.

I can still go to music and sms and stuff but everytime i go into a function like sms to get out i have to power off and on again cause the very important home button has stopped working.

I just want to know if anyone has had this problem before? was there a solution? should i restore? thanks in advance. I'm very newb at all this and i'ave been trying to read up alot. Would appreciate it alot if you guys can provide me some guidance or at least nudge me in the right directions.

oh yeah i did not drop my phone or pour water or anything. Just using normally....

Thanks again.

hi guys,

i've succesfully update my firmware to 2.1 without any problems. The only thing is .. my problem still not solved...

no sound coming from my phone, can't talk and my Home button is still not working.

The funny thing is, everytime i power off and on my iPhone with my USB cable connected to my computer, my phone will automatically go to recovery mode? i must pull out the cable for it to power off and on normally.
Does anyone know what this means?

I don't know if my Home button is really spoiled as i still managed to enter DFU mode after following instructions, which i think requires the Home button to be working...

unless my home button is stuck as in the iPhone thinks the home button is forever pressed in.. weird... anyway i've msged the above two guys you guys have mentioned hopefulyl they can help me out

But if any of you know why my phoen always restart at recovery mode while usb cable is plugged in .. or why my home button won't work but i can still enter DFU pls let me know smile.gif

If any newbies are reading this who is afraid of restoring and upgrading their iPhone, i finally understand why they say believe in yourself. THe process is not that difficult, and requires some reading. Last time alot of ppl scare me into not doing it cause they say i will brick my phone. I suppose the threat is there, but if you read properly it isn't so bad. I used this guide "http://sleepers.net/2008/08/19/quick-pwn-gui-guide/"

and everyhting worked out fine! so go ona nd give it a try!

but unfortunately my problem isn't solved. oh well... *looks at nokia.. sigh*

It depends on what u need actually. If u already own a superb and classy handphone, then get a ipod touch, in fact it has larger storage compare to iphone. If u r having a outdated phone now, then get iphone as u can combine 2 devices into 1. smile.gif

Most of us will tell you to upgrade to fw 2.1 as it is stable and there's tons of apps from Appstore but some will say stick v Fw 1.1.4.

So choose your poison.

FW 2.1 of course. It is more stable and reliable as well as many bugs fixed. In fact, u dun want to be outdated by using FW 1.1.4. Keep ur iphone updated man! nod.gif

Hi all,

I have been visiting this forum almost 6 months. some people here may think that i'm not regular enough for them as i din contribute as much as they do for this forum.

i want to suggest that, we elect a few mod for this iphone section from our regular iphone user here. as the mod job function will as below:

1. Delete duplicated thread created by newbie or combine those similar thread.

2. Warn those people who is flaming noob. because what i can see people here like to act pro and flame those newbie. as this "flaming" will not only stop those newbie continue to develop their interest for iphone but also will make lesser n lesser of people visiting this section because people here are not friendly enough to them.

I just want to make this section clean and full of useful info. but all this need rule and regulation.

Peace!

so, any volunteer for this "mod"?

i think we need to pin a new thread for those "iphone mod and complain" here. this thread will let people volunteer as mod and let people complain their unsatisfactory.

@kai
u can open a poll for people to vote and submit the poll results to somebody like RBR or se7en as prasys is not really doing his job here

but first and foremost an approval for the poll by them admins
