Guys, i need professional advice on this. Just bought my n82 few days ago. The problem is with my battery, it seems like the battery cant last even 7-8hours per day. FYI, i only use on phone calls and sms-ing, no wifi and music player. Is it normal? should i claim warranty ?Need advice pls
*
Go claim warranty. Mine can last 1 FULL day with heavy usage (lots of taken pics, wifi an hour or 2, music an hour or 2, average 10 minutes of calls, alot of sms). If idle leh.. 2 days charge once.

Chill man. I've followed the guide in V1, and managed to get the Garmin working. Actually, you dont really need a card reader. Just use data transfer mode la. Yeah its abit troublesome coz it requires you to set the sms storage back to phone memory, but thats all.

Btw, if u mean some parts of the guide are missing, its probably because it shows how to bypass the activation method

now that is something interesting brows.gif

Here is the official press release by Nokia:

NOKIA PRESS RELEASE April 23, 2008

Nokia N82 wins renowned TIPA "Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe" Award 2008

Largest European photo and imaging press association awards Nokia Nseries handset for camera capabilities

Espoo, Finland - Nokia today announced that the Nokia N82 multimedia computer has been awarded the 'Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2008' by TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) - Europe's largest photo and imaging press association.

"The Nokia N82 is a compact multimedia computer that integrates GPS, web, video and music functions around a 5 Megapixel camera with a high-speed, f/2.8 autofocus lens," the TIPA jurors said. "This Carl Zeiss Tessar focuses from 10cm to infinity and produces sharp prints up to and beyond A4 size. Several scene modes are also available to optimize the Nokia N82 for great images, whether shooting portraits or night shots," TIPA continued. Other Nokia N82 features highlighted by the jurors are the Xenon flash and 20X digital zoom.

"We are very excited to hear that the Nokia N82 has been recognized for its excellent imaging features," says Juha Kokkonen, Director for Nokia Nseries devices. "The Nokia N82 is an excellent example of how converged devices entirely change the way people contribute to and share on the internet by combining strong camera capabilities with built-in A-GPS and an array of connectivity features."

Taking advantage of its integrated A-GPS functionality and high resolution camera, the Nokia N82 automatically geotags images with capture location metadata, making it possible to view the capture location on a map either on the Internet or on the device itself. When it comes to sharing, people can upload their pictures or videos directly from their Nokia N82 to services like Share on Ovi, Flickr or YouTube.

Charged mine for 8 hours when i got it. The battery life may seem short (or at least a little shorter than expected) but it will tend to become longer as you use if more often. On average i charge mine once every 2 days. Sometimes once a day depending on usage.

OK guys, I need serious help with the Garmin Mobile XT. I am using version 4.10.80. I believe this is the latest. Regardless version, I still face this problem.

Example:

You need to travel NORTH 5km and turn right. When you stopped at a traffic light, the arrow (pointer) on the map turns round and round in circle. Then randomly, it points SOUTH and start RECALCULATING for an alternate route to the same location by the South way.

Is there any settings that will allow me to 100% sure guarantee that the arrow only points in ONE direction? Hope someone is able to help me fix this cause the moment it goes in circle and recalculate every time, it makes my parents doubt the accuracy of GPS.

I love to browse the web but considering my "GPRS" connection I'll say no.. cry.gif
Would you kindly tell me if it is a YEs or No to charge less than 8 hours?
Thanks. notworthy.gif

Yes first time charge 8 hours, then do 3 cycle (1 cycle = charge full, use till 1 bar then recharge full) after that it's good. I did mine like this and my battery can last for 2 days on some music playing on loud speaker, streaming video with wi-fi, intensive gaming, few calls + sms, alarms. If just few calls then standby time can up to 3 days.
