Hi SIFU, need answer about The Discovery Pass, Australia.
I going aus this year end for 2 week honeymoon, arrive melbourne and depart gold coast, will go sydney in the middle for new year countdown.
After see tru the flight is extremely expensive on that period. I planning take train, after research i found discovery pass 14 days. Does it cover all public transport I can use in MEL, SDY, GC ?
*
The discovery pass already stated there : by train and coach

Public transport in the 3 cities have their own card. Melbourne = Myki, Sydney = Opal, Gold Coast = Translink.

Maybe you can rent a car. Drive at coast line, stop anywhere you like and stay few days in between cities. Return car in Sydney stay few days. Rent car and drive up to GC. You could see more things that way. Try jucy rentals for budget option. Petrol is less than $1.50 per litre. Price varies in different towns. Hope it helps!

So that mean the 14 days unlimited travel not include city public transport. That way, it worthless to purchase and single trip pass more worth right?
At every cities I only purchase their own daily card will do right?
We only 2 pax, renting aday take 75aud + petrol for few day is quite expensive also

I assumed you can't use because it stated train and coach..

U ask your friends whether do they have myki, opals and brown from them. Top up when u r there. If u buy u can't return the card but to keep it. Jucy shouldn't be that expensive. If not mistaken $30+ per day. But we book few months before we travel.

If u r traveling within free Tram zone then u don't have to use myki. In Sydney there's no free tram zone.

As you have mentioned, you are booking for NYE period which is peak season. Most of the hotels in the CBD area will be expensive due to the NYE celebration.
Maybe you need to set your budget for a night stay when you are looking for accommodation at the booking sites.

The last time we stayed in Maze Backpackers. I've searched and its full.. lol.. well City Lodge Hotel is the cheapest RM600++. Maybe you can look at airbnb. There are few 200++ but bit out of town. Its already December tomorrow and you haven't plan and book your trip??

Get Jucy drive on coastline. When you reach cities just return. Don't drive in cities because parking are very pricey! if not just book a coach or train for one way.. check if its cheaper than your package. also better book online.. just in case you cant get ticket when you are there.

Ya, still checking bnb, can't get any, they rejected me. Lol. I go 14 days, sydney few day just for nye.

Just want to ask, if I stay far from city, will it be problem for me to go nye countdown or go bAck hotel. I afraid mid night no train or public transport.

haha u bad account is it? 14 days not really enough if you include stopping in between cities. going anywhere in the cities is very convenient as long you stay near to public transport lines. But probably you have to walk back after the celebration! blink.gif not sure will they extend the public transport. or just use grab car la..

If you hv samsung pay or wave enabke cc, it will be much mote convenient in Australia. No need to bring cash in most restaurants & malls.

Infact I hardly use my cash in australia. I brought in A$1000 and used up only A$150 haha

Maybe you can try hello1010. Last time I bought the sim card in Melbourne airport. It took me an hour plus to settle and get the data. The 2 Asian ladies at the counter are not really friendly and helpful.

I usually buy it at the airport. At arrivals, there is an Optus shop which they will help you.
I usually use their $2 daily for 500MB and unlimited SMS and call to local numbers

Hi,

I'm traveling to Australia for vacation next month and I wonder is there any good place/site for me to apply VISA? Legit and cheap?

https://www.australiavisa.my/ This costs RM20.00, Is this reliable? This seems cheap but I'm kinda worried why is this so cheap?

https://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETAS3/etas because this site, (which i assumed is the government site of Australia?) costs 20 AUD.

Please help sifus.
