Is AUD380 enough for a 9-day trip to Sydney? Most of the time i will be staying at Gosford with my aunt. In Sydney, what are the must buy items?
*
Possibly you can. but you need to be very frugal!. per meal is about $10-12. You can buy latte for a $1 at 7-11 combo with a muffins at $2. Or you like hot chocolate at $2!

I checked Gosford at the map and its 1.30hrs away from Sydney City. You need to have Opal card and cost you approx $5.95 per trip.

I was at Sydney only 3 days so didnt manage to go shopping but i bought kathmandu backpack with 40% discount. I went to DFO, Melbourne. Superdry was quite cheap there. other brands i didnt check.

You can go coles and worthwools. I like shopping in their supermarkets. Sometimes they have great offers! If you love ice cream dont mind try coles rum and raisin. Super delicious. 1 tub cost $5. I think with promo price. paw paw ointment is good if you use. Buy your ingredients in supermaket and have pack meals. Save alot too..

I stayed at Maze Backpackers, 417 Pitt St, Haymarket NSW 2000, Australia. I was a pleasant stay. There's no heater nor aircon in the room just fan. But Im not sure about other rooms. If you cook, there's a huge kitchen you can you use. And some days they have free dinner meals like sandwich with huge piece of beef patty. So if you are lucky you saved on your dinner that night.

Haha, finally a reply, after I came back from Sydney. Yes, what you have said is correct. My mum likes Chemist Warehouse!

The people are polite and courteous. Best of all, the place is very clean, even the toilets!

i rented at car from Jucy car rental. It was fast process and the car is in good condition.

1) sydney - central tilba

use route lawrence hargrave dr instead of princess motorway. You will enjoy more scenaries and will drive through Sea Cliff Bridge. you can stop at CATHEDRAL ROCKS, BOMBO HEADLAND QUARRY, KIAMA BLOWHOLE

It was a mistake the stay was too far staying which is at central tilba.. as i didnt know there are many places that I wanted to stop! so probably you can over night at ULLADULLA.

2) Central Tilba - lake entrance

using tathra bermagui rd route. passing by bermagui, Cuttagee, Mogareeka, Merimbula, Eden

walk around tilba town. drive tru wallaga bridge lake, the blue pool (no time to go)

same here journey too far. probably you can stay at Eden

3) Lake entrance - Traralgon

not much to see in between the journey because i wanted to go Walhalla and catch a train at Thompson to up to Walhalla. Drive down stay a night a Traralgon.

Many might choose all the coastal drive like going to Wilsons Promontory National Park but half way i prefer some mix with inland route so i choose traralgon.

4)traralgon - Melbourne

I went to REDWOOD FOREST, YARRA VALLEY CHOCOLATERIE & ICE CREAMERY (I didnt go)

Metung,Mallacoota, Narooma, Jervis Bay. These are some nice place to overnight..

I think my explanation is very brief because Im sleepy now.. hehe.. if you have time you can spend more days..

you can google the destinations and drag your preferred route and you will know how long is your journey. if you have any queries, I will try to explain in my minimal knowledge. smile.gif

Not really. It's because I did not use it for my personal use only. CC is quite convenient though.

No. There's no additional charge. We even rent from Melbourne and drop at Adelaide. Everything was hassle free.. and Jucy is the cheapest in town! I have read some bad reviews in the web.. But we didnt.. and still go for it!

p/s jucy car rental office are away from CBD. So you might need to take public transport. In Melbourne, you need Myki to take tram back to CBD.

Hello all. I have been reading this topic since last week and found out it is quite informative. I'm gonna flight to Sydney on Next Monday. May i get your feedback on which public tranports e.g train , bus, airport taxi or uber is good to go from airport to my hotel? My hotel is not very far from the airport (24 mins distance by transport) and my hotel has train station with a walking distance (3 mins walk). Thank you so much!

Taking public transport is the cheapest. If you are on budget, walk out from the airport go straight to car park area and take bus route 400 to ROCKDALE STATION. You can opt to drop at Bondi Junction but the journey takes slightly longer time. [Ask driver which direction he is driving]
p/s : you need to have opal card. I think total cost less than $7.00

If you want hassle free, opt for airport shuttle, online booking should be around $15. Taxi and uber cost higher.

Tks

limitation for ex after working hrs is extra charge, & sydney only hv airport pickup i think & need to take shuttle bus. not suitable for me & family. anyway, im still considering all options. still got plenty time to decide.
